Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Complete Edition

Amazing JRPG, honestly good storyline but if you don’t pay attention to the walls upon walls of text in the game then you might get lost between doing missions or how to get the next mission.

Amazing game and decent soundtrack too.

It’s an old game but still a great game, never gets bored of the gameplay and stories, bought the deluxe during the autumn sale 50% discount. The new HD graphic looks good, main characters and some mobs now have voice acting, also now we can choose skills we need when fusing demons which is convenient. It was a pain and time-consuming before on PS2 that we had to keep shuffling until we get at least some okay skills. Hey Atlus, I wish you guys add Persona 5 Royal on PC too, yearning for that game so badly since a lot of us are unable to get a console.

Disc Creatures

Disc Creatures

Haven’t done everything yet, still missing a few creatures (~92% done) but i’ll share my thoughts so far:

Pro:

+A good roster of 200 creatures, with fun/interesting designs

+Varied Locations, having the colour scheme change according to locations is nice.

+A decent story, not all that exciting but did it’s job alright.

Con:

-Too little difference in stats for early game to late game/rare/hard to get creatures

-All creatures you get starts at lvl 1, so getting creatures at later locations are actually worse than getting them at the first point they are avalible, also makes the grind to get a creature you think looks nice discouraging.

One of the better monster collectors I’ve played in awhile. This game is everything I love about Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland and Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow both for the GameBoy Color and yet miles improved compared to both.

The overworld encounters make it feel like getting through an area is less of a hassle compared to the random encounters of the above games.

Having a huge skill pool for each monster to switch between makes it so you can deal with far more situations as opposed to the limitations of TMs and relearning moves in Pokemon games or inheriting skills in Dragon Quest Monsters games.

Final Stardust

Final Stardust

Choose Your Element

Final Stardust is an anime like JRPG that aims to bring a new perspective to turn-based battle systems by introducing many new features such as Saiments, Synergies, Turn Effects, Dynamic Music, Voice Acting and more!

Synergy

This is how you deal the “big damage”. Every synergy has a cost and you need to consume stacks to be able to cast it. You get a stack by using a spell and its element will be the same as the used spell, meaning that if you use a “Mars” spell, you get a “Mars” stack. After multiple turns you will get enough stacks to cast a powerful spell, a.k.a synergies!!!

Saiment

You can’t use items in battle, only saiments. Saiments are similar to items but they have their own system. At the end of every turn you draw a saiment(randomly from your deck). Every saiment has an “effect” that you can use instead of casting a spell/synergy. Every saiment you use is consumed and you can’t use it again(unless you start a new battle)!!!

Sealing

Sealing new monsters(a.k.a Planos) isn’t about luck but about strategy. You need to use “Sealing” saiments and survive long enough to be able to fill up the “Sealing” bar to 100% and acquire the new Plano!!!

Anime Moment: Ultimate Draw

Final Stardust is filled with anime moments and this is one of them. This mechanic allows you to get any particular saiment you want from your deck(can only be used once per battle). If you are a fan of anime, you are in for a treat!!!

Moonsters

Moonsters

Very fun little retro-modern mashup game

Pretty nice game with the feel of my favorite Pokemon game but with an updated and modernized look! The monsters are all unique and quirky in their own ways and so are their movesets. The Moondex is unlocked from the start of the game so you can see all the monster designs and they remind me of some of my favorite characters that I used to watch growing up! If you liked the original Pokemon games growing up, you should definitely try this game.

Coromon

Coromon

A new day dawns on Velua, a new day for the world and a new day for you, a freshly minted battle researcher of the global research society known as Lux Solis. Lux is dedicated to peacefully harnessing the potential of Velua’s unique wildlife for the benefit of mankind.

Pack up your belongings, board the train to the campus, and be ready for a career in the field: Catch Coromon, train them, then unleash them on the world to push back the boundaries of science!

A New Take on a Classic

Coromon is a new take on the classic monster taming gameplay, combining old-school battle mechanics with a robust RPG system.

  • Each of the 120 Coromon is defined not just by its type or number, but also by statistics, available skills, potential, and more.

  • Help them grow through countless battles and gain priceless knowledge for Lux Solis, investigating the six Titans and their essence.

  • A mysterious danger awaits in the depths of Velua, a danger that can undo the world! Will you be able to save it?

A World to Explore

Venturing out the door is the first step in a great adventure. By its end, you will explore the whole of Velua together with your Coromon.

Explore different biomes, from freezing glaciers to blistering dezerts, from high-tech towns to the deepest of forests, fighting both wildlife and other trainers looking for a challenge.

Solve puzzles using tools and information provided by Lux Solis to keep your investigation on track.

Locate and confront the mighty Titans, solving puzzles and defeating their guardian Coromon, to collect their essences!

A New Experience, Each Time

Coromon is all about putting a modern spin on a classic genre. That includes playing the game just the way you want.

  • Pick from scores of options when creating your battle researcher. Lux doesn’t care about how you look, merely about how you perform in the field.

  • When you’re done, you can fine-tune the difficulty level to your heart’s content. Go easy, go hard, go insane, or pick a random difficulty that might be completely unpredictable!

  • Want more? Go online and battle your friends' Coromon, testing your squad and sharpening your tactical skills!

A Word from the Developers

We’re honored to be able to provide Coromon to you, a game we’ve poured our heart into. Coromon is our tribute to the classics of the genre. While staying loyal to the core gameplay, we wanted to add new gameplay features but also keep the retro look, with a modernized pixel art style.

Thank you for playing Coromon. We hope you will enjoy the game as much as we enjoyed creating it!

Monster Sanctuary

Monster Sanctuary

This game is totally worth it.

If you enjoy the monster-taming formula from games like Pokemon (and others), but wanted it to be a little more “meaty” in terms of strategy, then look no further!

Why this game is great:

  • 3 v 3 battles. This makes it so team dynamics are important. Instead of each individual monster needing to be a powerhouse of some sort, you can have monsters focusing on a variety of roles, damage / tanking / buffing / debuffing / etc. Playing around with team compositions is really fun.

I would not recommend playing this game with a guide until you’ve finish the majority of the story - I feel that the exploration is part of what makes this a great experience.

I don’t write reviews very often, but I felt that this game deserves some merit that makes it stand out amongst it’s competition.

Initially I thought Monster Sanctuary lacked depth, as the first biome and battles felt slow and didn’t have much to choose from - I think it took about 2 hours to get to a place where I could appreciate the level of quality that this game presents.

Mython Island

Mython Island

If you like Monster Taming games like Pokemon and Roguelike games such as Slay the Spire then you need to own this game. It blends the two genres so seamlessly that I can’t believe it hasn’t really been capitalized on before.

The game offers two modes, Story and Survival mode the former has you choosing a starting Mython and the latter you will receive a team of random ones. You have to manage your Mython through the randomly generated runs and pick different paths depending on what gets generated.

Mython Island is a game that I have been waiting for since Visionstead Studio’s first tweet about the game. The art style grabbed me, and the concept seemed cool: a roguelike monster taming game. Going into this game, despite it being EA, I had high expectations.

Mython Island 100% met my expectations, and the developer has exceeded my expectations when it comes to acting on feedback concerning the game.

One of the first things you will experience is the OST, and it is immediately enjoyable. The feeling and sound of the OST changes at different points during the game, but all of it is a cut above many indie games' OSTs!

Soul Reaper

Soul Reaper

Soul Reaper quickly hooks player attention with an effectively deployed progression system, and does a fine job in offering multiple avenues to keep engagement levels high. While enjoyable for the most part, its grindy nature can render it tiresome, and the current lack of proper side quests beyond feats leaves something to be desired. Still, it’s a good debut, and a fresh ambassador for the RPG genre that leaves a lasting impression by defying convention.

Really nice, and fast paced; monster-catching strategy RPG. The game has aspects of idle-game style gameplay, however the strategy comes from squad optimisation, gear socketing, and order placement (there are ‘row bonuses’ available, but those’re kinda beyond me at the current time of writing, lol).

I made a fairly in-depth, but still very early, impressions video; available here:

Really looking forward to discovering more monsters, and more strategic optimisation in the hours and days to follow.
