Cricket: Jae’s Really Peculiar Game

Cricket: Jae’s Really Peculiar Game

After a devastating loss, Jae would do anything to fix the past. Blast off with your newfound friends on a journey to the gates of Yimmelia, a fabled land on the moon that’s rumored to grant any wish.

  • Traverse forests, explore cities, ruin a rock concert, and crash a fandom convention, all while throwing your JRPG expectations out the window.

    • Ram your head into things, just to see what happens! Maybe it’ll be cool?
  • Recruit and travel with five new friends, each with their own unique powers.

    • Customize your battle experience with six playable characters—fight with your favorites.

    • Time your attacks to build your meter, ultimately unleashing powerful duo and trio attacks!

    • Consult with your party members about your surroundings, how to beat enemies, or just to check in on your pals.

  • Freely interact with NPCs during conversations:

    • Stand there and take it, throw items at them, or just walk away.

    • Your actions have consequences—how you treat people in this world affects combat.

  • (You do have to crash the fandom convention, though. Sorry.)

  • Hey, if you can figure out who’s playing at the rock concert, can you forward it to us so we can stay tuned?

  • “Stay tuned”…That’s hilarious. We’re done here.

  • Full, all-new OST composed by Shane Mesa and Tomoya Tomita.

  • Elemelons.

I played almost 40h and want to keep going. As a f2p I like that you can get all the characters without spending any money. The graphics are good, sounddesign is catching and the turnbased combat is right up my ally. The only thing I might add is the option to change gear during missionselection. Other than that I would also like to see a male character who talks more (srly girls are not in shortage but where are the men?). That aside, the combat is exciting and story interesting (at least for me). I do love me a good grind (I did spend more of less 70% of my playtime grinding ressources) but that might not be the case for everyone. You can take it ez though. I recommend you try it out for yourself. Can’t wait for more exciting updates. ;)

Summary: This is a pretty awesome game if you like SRPGs!

Story: It exists. It’s not great, it’s not terrible, just whatever. Pretty generic anime-esque stuff, a group of female fighters trying to take down the evil bad guys.

Artstyle/UI: Very good! The characters are clean and distinct, the attacks are flashy without being over-the-top. UI is tight and shiny, and easy to navigate. It’s anime style in the artwork, but chibi “big head” characters in the actual gameplay. It’s not distracting though, it’s very cute. Some character artwork is sexualized with huge cleavage, but compared to a lot of games of this stripe, it’s not over-the-top. Many characters are just badass/cool without being scantily clad.

Project Apax

Project Apax

Join Laia and Evan, two young graduated Apprentices from the Kingdom of Agni, in their adventure to face the powerful Kingdom of Gea. The echoes of a dark past return to threaten all we know, unless the prophecy of the Anointed comes true.

Paying tribute to the great classics

Inspired by great classics like Final Fantasy IX or Golden Sun, Project Apax is a nostalgic old school RPG with a deep narrative and interactive battle system. With an appealing anime style and neat VFX, it immerses the player in an animated movie. All music has been composed by YouFulca.

Battle mode

  • Realtime turn-based combat

  • Interactive and dynamic combat actions

  • AI-powered enemies that will require strategy

Exploration mode

  • 3 continents and 10 cities, with over 80 hours of content

  • Interactive environment

  • Rewarding puzzles

  • Explorable dungeons

  • Two encounter modes: random encounters and visible enemies

The world of Project Apax

_Iberis was a world at peace. Gone are the times of the Great Conflict, which was about to end the world as it is known. Nations that ruled their vast lands evolved and their inhabitants lived peacefully in prosperous cities. The threat once known as The Collapse, which would disrupt the equilibrium of the known world and lead it to its destruction, was nothing more than a tale to scare children at night.

Or so we believed.

Conflicting cults began to emerge trying to manipulate society and governments to awaken an ancient menace. The five great pilars, major seals from a dark power, began to rumble, heralding the arrival of a new era. Iberis is at the beginning of a new stage which can mark a cruel and tragic destiny for the world, unless the prophecy comes true and the Anointed appear to face this threat.

None of us knew what this trip was going to bring us, nor the consequences that our failure could bring.

Let me tell you how, in a few minutes, world was plunged into Chaos.

Evan, Agni’s Fire Apprentice_

I wish more indie games were as ambitious as this, especially indie action games. I want to make something that looks this gorgeous someday, and I mean that.

Action is pretty good, especially the 1v1 boss fights which made the whole game for me. Ran into some small tech issues but nothing the autosave couldn’t fix.

All-in-all, the sort of experience that comes from a team with a lot of heart, and it shows. Really excited to see whatever Phantom Island makes next!

Glad to see that this dev is getting better and better.

I think this game could be sold for a higher price if it had less bugs and a better translation to English. What this dev needs is a better quality control. Preferably by a native English speaker.

(Also please improve the GUI for the VN parts and improve the balance between the volume of music and the background sounds.)

Tanto Cuore

Tanto Cuore

I’m a mega fan of this franchise, owning every expansion to date, and a backer of the 10th anniversary kickstarter. This game was included in that campaign!

This “simulator” has a lot more than I was ever going to expect. There is a single player campaign with unlockables, including some of the promotional cards. There’s some light VA and other touches that ad a nice sense of flare for an already functional game.

I have some nitpicks about my experience with the single player campaign. The first couple of games ease you into some of the concepts, including the optional goals. Later, however, the CPUs reveal themselves to be rather… interesting. Their behaviors are not always consistent, and some of the decisions they make are nonsensical; often buying low cost cards when they’re able to afford high costs. This worsens in larger games with more players, and balloons when the game gives you the optional goals of doing “x amount of things” in games that often end much too quickly to achieve. Instead, 100% the single player campaign turns into something of a slot machine, playing game after game hoping that the CPUs strategy and behaviors aren’t going to end the game as you still need to employ five more cards for that last star.

Tanto Cuore is one of my favorite games to play. Over the last year I’ve been very disappointed I couldn’t play with friends and that I couldn’t go to conventions to play Tanto Cuore. I can only beat my husband at this game so many times before he’s going to refuse to play with me. I was at my wits end because I own all of the table top games and I don’t want my ability to win to put him on the verge of insanity. I am delighted to see the game is out. I bought it and just played by myself for two hours. You may have saved my marriage.

  • NEEDS MORE CRITTERZ!!!

Even if the game is still in early access, it’s already amazing! Thank you Xenon for the work you’re putting in this game!

And the third entry in the Space Funeral series sports a lovely Vaporwave palette. OK, not really, but it might as well be. I could leave it right there, and it’d stand just fine as a recommendation or not, but I’ll elaborate. This is one of those RPG Maker games that defies the usual, and flies in the face of all the half-assed creations that make most people wary about buying anything from the engine. It’s still a little rough around the edges right now, but it’s certainly playable, and I can’t wait to see the finished product!
