Vulture for NetHack
IMO this is the king of the rouguelikes. There is no question in my mind. The amount of stuff you can do, the amount of careful planning it takes to get far, dying sometimes on your first step of the journey… this is roguelike perfection. This is just an adaptation of the classic NetHack, for the most part it is simply a graphical overhaul, or basically an isometric tileset. However, there are a couple game mechanics that are very slightly different. But for you purists, I really don’t think it affects the gameplay. This is basically classic NetHack but with better graphics than have ever been seen before. Sadly, they are still not very good. I would love to see some really good graphics on NetHack someday, but I’m not sure there is enough interest for that these days. The devs of this game say they have graphical updates coming, and from what I’ve seen they look amazing, but the project seems to have stalled out, so who knows if we’ll actually get them.

I spawned in to my adventure as a Human Tourist. Great start. I then walked into the next room, and found a box on the ground. On inspection, no traps were detected and it was not locked. I opened it, only to find that there really -was- a trap. A giant pillar of flame erupted from the box, killing me as well as my pet. The game made note that I was a sinner, presumably because my pet would not have died if I didn’t set the trap off, Total life time: something like 60 turns. That’s the Nethack we all know and sometimes claim to love.

MidBoss
Update
11/27/2017
The biggest and final patch is live for MidBoss and that includes even more quality-of-life updates. There’s possibilities for more inventory space, additional modes to get you acquainted with the mechanics (1UP and Story), and etc. Few bits of my original review has been updated.
True to its title and description, MidBoss is a game about the evil creature who wanted to become stronger.
Gameplay
MidBoss features a procedurally generated dungeon, with every click and movement counting as a turn. Your fellow enemies are your swords to wield and your shields to bare. Their bodies are at your disposal, their spells are a part of your arsenal, and their stats are yours to improve. Unfortunately, you need it. You’re the squishiest asexual fire demon in all the dungeon!

This is a roguelike that creates a cool combat system around the concept of possessing monsters. It plays more like a “traditional” roguelike with things like turn-based combat, procedurally generated dungeons and permadeath. It does break out of the mold but in a good way, like their “death card” system where you can save all your character’s information in a png image, and you can literally drag and drop someone else’s death card image into your game and load it into your game, play that same seed, or even import one of their items to start with.

all i need to say is 93h playtime in 4 days with many more hours to come! :)

Tons of bugs still, I understand that it’s still alpha but there are a lot of game breaking bugs. It’s taking the devs a long time to even acknowledge the bugs. Every time they fix one bug they create another.
It has potential as game but I wouldn’t recommend playing until they fix quite a bit of it

Shattered Planet
To put it bluntly, Shattered Planet is one of the worst Roguelike I ever had the displeasure to play and it’s not worth the price at all, even considering this is the first game made by Kitfox, especially when they straight up abandoned it, leaving some items impossible to collect (making 100% completion not achivable if you are into that) and not fixings LOTS of bugs and glitches that plague the experience, either by being a minor annoyance or outright impeding your progress
The premise of Shattered Planet is that you, the clone of a space adventurer, with the aid of your space crew, that is made by the huge number of one ‘nother alien guy, must travel to the now shattered planet of Earth to find a cure to a space disease known as “Blight”, which there are currently no ways to treat it.

I really like this game!
Jumping right into what you want to know:
Gameplay/Story: Simple; easy to learn very fast. Choose a clone, each with their own skillset and buffs, and traverse the ever-changing shattered pieces of an ancient planet crawling with monsters and tribals, littered with loot and new weapons to help you on your way as you progress onto harder and harder levels that are different every time. See how far you can get before the flora, fauna, or your own mistakes spell your end. You will die. A lot. But don’t worry; your clone can pick up where you left off to start the adventure all over again with all the information and levels that your last one was able to earn before his untimely, and probably sudden, demise. But you’re not always alone in this, you might sometimes also find it in your favor to either purchase or tame a companion or pet to help fight with you on your next trip to the surface. If you’d rather have a goal to reach instead of pushing the limits of your clone endlessly, there are 3 other difficult missions for you to complete with cool rewards for each, but you’ll fare better practicing in endless first! Grab some scrap and crystals (money) in there to buy yourself some fancy murder-tools before pushing your luck in the missions. Travel a lot and you’ll find it lying all over the place!

Living the Nightmare
no horror, not enough blood, not disgusting at all.
it is something like small version of turnbased crimson land.
if you are not into modern graphics and stuff and you are in search for some 30 minutes single session of killing monsters roguelite - it is for you.
advice: turn off ingame music and play some black/grind/funeral of your own collection.
EDIT: vote for game to be more disgusting! (and more stuff).
EDIT: ok, it is not a great-great-great game, also it has frustrating/gamebreaking bugs. but it is sure playable and i just want to support devs a little with positive review. still recommend, yeah!!!

Afar as game that try to somehow fit in the rouge like genre this is one of the more interesting. The tutorial level goes by fast and unfortunately you can’t go back ( at least I don’t know how. ) I like the hex format and overall style of the game , The combat is fitting for what they are trying to do. The only thing that really irritates me is the height thing. Its a pretty addicting little game. I am sure there are those who have ignited all of the shrines but that is not me as of yet. Its fairly cheap price wise so if you like rouge type games and horror definitely pick this up,

Endhall
Endhall’s description - a ‘byte-sized roguelike’ - encompasses exactly what this game is.
It easily serves as a stepping stone for those unfamiliar with the genre, whilst still being enjoyable for those who are well-versed in it. The learning curve is not steep, but the game does a fine job of making you reflect on what you could have done better. It took me about 40 or so minutes to beat the game, which is completely fair given the price. A run consists of beating 9 stages, and a successful run could end up being about 15 or so minutes.

Endhall is a turn based rogue like puzzle, with retro graphics and atmospheric chiptune inspired music.
The game in itself is quite simple (but there is no help, so I will describe it here): you play a robot fighting against other robots, you have 8 “health points” (labelled “energy meter”) and 4 “action points” (labelled “CPUs”). The action points are used to perform actions (like attacking, moving, etc.), and refill every turn; while health points decrease by various amounts when hit, or by one after the end of every turn (to prevent the player from camping) and are replenished by one for every ennemy death.

Jupiter Hell
*** UPDATED 1.0 REVIEW ***
Jupiter Hell is fuckin’ awesome. This is the best turn-based, combat-focused game since XCOM 2. Don’t get me wrong – the game plays totally differently, but fans of XCOM will be right at home. In many ways, I prefer Jupiter Hell – it’s got a straight-forward, blood and guts approach that makes it super fun and easy to pick up. The base mechanics are simple yet deep. It’s definitely going to kick your ass though, and thanks to it I’ve cursed at my monitor at 3AM far more than my neighbors would like. Yet, it’s extremely approachable and the second you die you just want to play more to see what sort of a cool class you can build out this time, what crazy weapon you’ll find or what dumbass way you’ll die next (my favorite was when I got a perk that set enemies near to me on fire – something that paired poorly with explosive barrels).
– Real player with 305.1 hrs in game
This was a tough review to do, probably my hardest one. I do ultimately recommend this game! Despite the Cons I list, it’s FUN and replay-able when you put some hours into it.
Jupiter Hell is 80% towards being a total gem of a game. The other 20% can be an issue.
I have 3 small cons, and 1 major one. If these are addressed, this game would be worth $50 even. Yes, twice the price. As it sits, the game is worth $25 but perhaps just that.
PROS:
1. It does accomplish the DOOM feel, with the music, the voice lines, the UI, and the monsters you fight. This is the strong point of Jupiter Hell. The graphics are great, and many of the weapons feel satisfying to use once you learn how they work. If you are looking for the experience of DOOM but in a new style setting (top down, turn based, non FPS), this game is it.
