Fade Out
I played more or less 2 hours, i enjoyed the first 5 rooms, the ambient sounds are great, the graphic is cool but in a specific objects like a telephone buttons and clock it’s hard interacting properly with them.

Fade Out is atmospheric VR room escape game with a twist. Every time you do something right the room changes in some way and it makes the game feel fresh and exciting. The rooms are pretty different from one another and there are clever puzzles in each of them. Puzzles are not too hard but I did spend quite a long time in the first room.
Pros:
-
Creepy atmosphere with matching soundscape
-
Hard enough puzzles to be entertaining but not too hard to make you stop playing
-
If you like room escape games, then this one is for you!

KILLING A SUPERSTAR
I highly recommend this product - but I need to first and foremost clarify that it is a experience and not much of a “game”. That isn’t a bad thing, you just need to know that going in.
I won’t retread the stuff that everyone else said - about the 5 viewpoints, 15 minutes long, etc., etc. - what I want to call out is the acting and execution of the story. You could hurry through the game and skim all the scenes to get the information you need in order to answer the 3 questions and “finish” the game, but that’s not really the best way to experience the content. I think the three questions are mainly there to give you a starting point for your investigation.

Like-able.
I love the presentation and I want to see more of this. There were parts of the story that didn’t gel for me.
Too short for the price (at under 60 minutes).
Nevertheless, recommended. Just get it on sale.

This app originally released in Russian so I didn’t download it. Luckily, English language support was added back on November 3, 2021. I strongly recommend this experience for anyone interested in history. I will note that the developer is a Russian government owned news agency (Russia Today). However, I found all the information in this app to be historically accurate.
And this is an important piece of history to remember. This is about the trial of five Nazi criminal defendants which include: Göring, Dönitz, Rosenberg, von Ribbentrop and von Schirach. You’re basically collecting evidence in this app sufficient for their conviction and sentencing for crimes against humanity. The whole experience takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete. Most of the information is narrated for you and you will see some videos, lots of photos, & several texts, along with visiting different historically important locations for these defendants.

Nuremberg: VRdict of Nations is a free to play VR experience that is about history. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was understandable. This program is now in English, by selecting the English flag on desk. Has 13 steam achievements. Has instructions on vr use at beginning. The English voiceovers was understandable. You have 5 persons of interest to investigate. Looks like there is more than 30 minutes of playtime in this program. You have to search for clues in a linear fashion.

The Holy City
This is an amazing tool for anyone curious to learn more about Jerusalem and the many religions that coexist in this fantastic place. Very well executed. I have to say it’s very unusual for me to review projects. This because very few actually wow me to the point of actually wanting to share it with others…. This is an amazing experience that allows you to feel like you can touch the Holy Sepulcher and place a note on the Western Wall. Just fantastic. I know this is a virtual visit- but the fact the places were scanned from real life really makes me appreciate the accuracy and be able to enjoy looking at each location at my own pace. Throughout this journey I really enjoyed seeing the beautiful realistic-looking recreation of many Jerusalem temples that allowed me to freely look around and spend a lot of time inspecting painting and inscriptions on the walls. When it switched from the interactive gamefied version to the 360 video version was totally amazing to recognize the precise location where the camera was placed and enjoy seeing it filled with real people. I hope to see more soon.

Okay, it’s a pretty solid game but I can’t recommend it to anyone who plays much in the way of puzzle games. You’ll quickly find it repetetive.
Pros:
Neat mechanic.
Looks and sounds good, which results in pretty great immersion.
Some very enjoyable puzzles.
Cons:
Movement can be awkward.
Once you figure it out, which may not take long - you will start to feel like you’re repeating the same puzzles.
Actual order/progression in difficulty of puzzles is not the best.
– Real player with 16.2 hrs in game
The puzzles are very simple, only a couple required to think a bit more before the solution came up.
The VR experience is very buggy, after a couple of levels your character gets desynced with your headset even with little movement on your position making it so you lose the perception of where you actually are.
The character controls are also quite simple you can use the left stick (Oculus) to move forward and turn the character your forward is also determined by where you’re looking making it possible for you to ignore turns or take the wrong one when you decide to look at the next point while moving at the same time.

The Room VR: A Dark Matter
The only games I have ever purchased on an app store was the Lego Star Wars game (it’s an drm free version of the entire saga, that was a no brainer) and The Room 2 and 3. I got the first one for free somehow and I played it like I played the 100 other escape room app games I had. Hints on, casually. But it only took me half of my first play through to realize that this was not another escape room/puzzle game. The detail, the story, the simultaneous intuitiveness and complexity of the puzzles… it’s on a whole different level. Games 2 and 3 I payed full price and played with the hints off. Sometimes there were sections I just couldn’t figure out, so I’d put the game down and come back another day. This game is finite. The solution to the puzzles, once solved, will always be a shadow at the back of your mind making subsequent playthroughs that much easier. The real magic is in the first playthrough, so I make it an event now. I turn off the lights, I wear headphones, I immerse myself. The Room VR does that for you. By the nature of the platform you are immersed in the world that the devs have created. The controls and gameplay mechanics are just as intuitive and complex as the tablet and PC versions of the game, but being able to walk around this world… to manipulate puzzles with your hands… to shrink down small enough to walk into a padlock and solve its riddle so seamlessly that you don’t even question it… this is how the game was meant to be played.

If you like puzzle games then you will almost certainly enjoy this one! I’ve been a fan of “The Room” series since the first one came out on mobile platforms many moons ago. Playing the same styled puzzle game in VR was just a plain joy. Being able to manipulate all of the various contraptions just has a great feel that you can’t get outside of VR. The only major negative I can think of that might concern someone about to take the plunge is that the game is short. Please take into account I play many puzzle games and am very familiar with this series. I finished the entire thing in about 4 hours, but I could see it going up to 6 if your new to puzzle games.

A Rabbit and the Mystic Fog
Experienced on the Oculus Rift
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/lddyGhPOy0Y
This is a 20-30 minute story book adventure for VR. You explore the map, talk to the meadow creatures, and try to solve the mystery of the mysic fog. It sort of plays like a Visual Novel, except you have little quests to do as you uncover the story. In theory, this should be a chill & lovely mini-adventure that I could recommend to families.
Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game. It just has too many issues. The biggest issue for me was the teleportation system in this game. It’s simply terrible. You’re supposed to be able to face the direction your teleportation marker is pointing, but I found it almost impossible to control. I finally gave up and played this game standing and just physically faced the direction that I was teleporting towards. There is no smooth or snap turning.

I didnt realize this game needed VR. I was able to access the debugger so I got a good look at the map and its guts.

Detective VR: NFT secret Files
Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/vnwnQcIpXf4
This is a difficult game to recommend because it does have some noticeable flaws. The biggest thing is that it’s teleportation only with snap turning. It also doesn’t have much content. Game took me about two hours to complete, but I think it would take most people 1 hour. The game only has 1 big room, then 1 small room.
Game is running on the Unreal Engine. While this game does look better than the vast majority of VR puzzle / escape rooms, it also has some performance issues. On my RTX 3080, I was getting steady 80 frames per second. Yes, it seems as though the game is hard capped at 80 fps.
– Real player with 2.7 hrs in game
EDIT: The 80 fps lock has now been removed, and the game works perfectly also in 90, 120 and 144 Hz.
With an RTX 3090 I can now use res 450% in solid 90 fps, but it works best with no motion smoothing. The game looks and performs mindblowingly awesome.
There’s no finger tracking, but lighting and textures etc. are of the highest quality. Also no full locomotion, but like Room VR you’re here to solve puzzles - there’s teleport though and snap turning.
Unfortunately I should have eaten more veggies as a kid to grow a larger brain, lol, so I’m still working on the prolonged dry cough! puzzles. There’s a hint system, but I’m stubborn - I need no help, lol.

Flavortown
“Third Update”
All control mapping is now working and is smooth and easy to use. Playing through for a second time was more enjoyable without fighting these.
I know mappings may seem like a “small thing to be updated” but the speed the devs have done it and their updates was what stopped me from refunding and got me to play through twice.
Keen for episode 2.
“Original Review”
This game does seem like it could be good, unfortunately running on a Vive it seems that the controls do no function and you’re unable to proceed past the initial starting point.

Paranormal Detective: Escape from the 80’s
Nice puzzle game. If you’ve played other escape room type games, you’ll like this. Lots of 80’s references and humor throughout. I had to refer to a walk through twice: once for something I should have picked up on but the other was something I may have eventually stumbled upon what they were expecting you to do (tip: just play with everything extensively!)
Looking forward to the 90’s sequel, which is already waiting in my wish list.

This game is totally RADICAL DUDE! Just played through and I loved it. Great escape room elements with so much 80s. Such cheesy acting and there is even a rap to dance to. Don’t want to give away too much. Took me about 2 hours to complete. I did search pretty thoroughly for Easter eggs and such.
The game nailed what is wrong with so many escape games.
-
It has a great, fun story! This is lacking in so many.
-
Everything is polished and works well! (surprisingly hard to find)
-
A great length! I have played waaaay too many 15 to 20 minute experiences. This took me well over an hour to explore, complete the puzzles, and complete the end.
