Arcanbreak

Arcanbreak

It is a point and click adventure the characters can be moved with ‘w-a-s-d’ and then there is mouse to point and click. The experience could have been better if there was an option to press a key when the character is near the object to know about the object.

It’s a strange feeling, being first to review a Steam title.

Arcanbreak is a fantastical thriller and adventure game about abuse of power. It’s a short adventure that’ll take about 1-2 hours of your time to fully complete.

PROS:

  • The atmosphere is dreary. The dark lighting and ominous music provokes the sense that something dark is brewing in town, and that’s one motivator to keep on the case.

  • The character designs are nice enough. There’s a Kingdom Hearts meets Bloodborne aesthetic here, which I’m all for.

! Comrade Alexandria is a hardened fighter. Little movements, like the way characters will bob their heads around every here and then as a lookout, are nice touches. The banter takes a dark, but quirky approach, and it’s nice to read. Arun and Quila make neat protagonists.

Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha

Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha

While yes its a pre alpha and has lots of bugs, in my opinion it is what hello neighbor should have been, i mean the newer art style just isnt scary and it focuses more on the puzzle solving then the actual horror, i also love the fact that the house looks like a real house that doesnt have roller coasters or anything crazy like that it feels like your sneaking into a real home with a real person who learns things living inside it which i think really adds to the horror aspect, so i highly recommend this version as it feels a lot more like a horror game than it does a puzzle solver.

What Hello Neighbor Should’ve been. This is the first build of Hello Neighbor. It’s buggy, broken, crashes constantly, is extremely hard, but is a masterpiece.

The atmosphere is insanely good. The game nails the creepy atmosphere. The music that plays when you enter the house/when the neighbor is close is enough to send chills down your spine. The game is straightforwards enough, find the correct items to unlock his basment. He sometimes patrols the house, but usually just watches TV. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. That is unless your game crashes and you lose all your progress. Happy breaking and entering!

Observer: System Redux

Observer: System Redux

Observer Systemn Redux (2020) is a refurbished version of Observer (2017) both developed by a polish development company named Bloober https://www.blooberteam.com/about-us . This walking horror simulator is based during a cyberpunk era, 2084, when a deadly disease known as ‘Nanophage’ has already become rampant in the past and manifested itself among the slum C district of Krakow Poland. Due to a nuclear holocaust from both east and west, a mega corporation known as Chiron was able to usurp control by segregating the nation from the rest of the world (the great wall) and forming the 5th Polish Republic, further divided into three classes. A-district upper class, B-District working class and C District – slums.

Anyone that has been into gaming for the past few years clearly knows Observer. As a fantastic dystopian thrilling adventure, the game left us all impressed by its story and aesthetics. There was however, a lot which was left behind, and in that regard Observer: System Redux fulfills every aspect, including in the technical department.

But let’s not get ourselves in the optimization just yet, because first I want to assure everyone that no story-related detail was altered or manipulated. System Redux remasters what was already present. This is obviously good, as the story itself was already top-tier, revealing a world where augmented electronics embed in the human body created an easier but also tougher verdict for citizens.

So I beat the game I’m not sure if the ending is supposed to be just a black screen, but that was kind of lame. The first blood achievement doesn’t seem to work nor does the beat the game achievement. I did get a cool “Kind” of ending when she killed me with 5 photos overall I think if everything worked better it’d be a really good game, but with how it is now it was still fun and it scared the heck out of me before I realized escaping her is a bit easy. Waiting for certain things to spawn and running to them in time can be a bit arduous though. Games a wee bit too long and RNG with the spawnings to keep beating the game only for it to glitch in the end with the black screen if that’s not supposed to happen. I had fun though so I’ll recommend.

Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5

Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5

Hello Neighbor 2 Alpha 1.5. The alpha is 6/10 for me. Here are the Positives, the Art-style of the game is beautiful, the Controls and Physics are way better than the first game in my opinion, and messing around in the game is really fun especially seeing how the “AI” reacts to certain things.

Here are the Negatives, The Game is extremely un-optimized like I’m getting 30 fps sometimes, the puzzles are really difficult and random. For example, there’s a bored up window on the outside of the house and there’s a tree right next to it. Most would think that the tree has no collision BUT IT DOES! So you have to jump on the branch of that tree and throw an item through the window to hit a lever. WHAT THE HECK?!? and Finally my last complain is that the GUEST IS ALWAYS ON YOU! after going inside the house once he is always on you. That’s my review hope it helped a lot.

There are a lot of bugs here and there and there seems to be a countless amount of downgrades from the gameplay trailer we all got to watch and love but that doesn’t take away the outstanding new game we all are going to get sometime in 2021. The new gameplay features added to this new roleplaying horror game makes the series all the better. A brand new story with brand new characters cannot be denied as a good and well created game. Over the updates and new alphas this game will get, I truely hope this game will become what we all saw and loved from the gameplay trailer and that they clear the bugs and glitches. And with all that being said, this brand new sequal to this series is worth trying out and hopefully gets the attention and love that this game deserves.

Dark Existence

Dark Existence

BACKGROUND STORY

The year is 2036. You are a survivor living in an underground bunker alongside other survivors. The bunker is home to an organisation of scientists who conduct research and experiments on unknown phenomena related to the extinction event. It is your job to ensure that supplies are brought to the bunker as well as test subjects for the scientists to operate on. This requires going to paranormal sightings and capturing whatever objects or creatures you come across.

The world is full of these creatures and it is up to you and your friends if you choose to go with others, to make sure that you successfully capture one of them.

THE BUNKER

The underground facility where you currently live is classed as the ‘Multiplayer Hub’. All players spawn here together when hosting/joining a server. In the bunker, you will have the freedom to explore and investigate cases. You will also see the creatures that you have previously captured.

OLD MANOR ON THE HILL

One of the first places you will travel to from the bunker is the Old Manor, located a few hours away. There are reports of paranormal activity within the Old Manor from passing survivors. They have reported a strange figure staring out the window, and strange sounds coming from inside. You have been tasked to go inside and investigate the cause of this activity.

GAMEPLAY

In Dark Existence, you will play as a survivor who is trying to fix some of the damage made from the extinction event. You will be checking out places close to the bunker to see if anything of value can be resourced. Your main task however will be investigating paranormal activity which will involve a lot of stealth within dark and dangerous environments.

In the Old Manor, there is an old woman that has had her body taken over by an evil presence, she is smart, she can see very well. But she doesn’t hear very well. So stay out of sight.

As you work through the stages of investigating, you may find she becomes harder to evade. Discover her weakness. You must find a way to capture her, just be careful; she doesn’t react well to being hurt.

You can play alone, however, this is not recommended. You may play with up to 3 other friends that dare to enter the halls of hell with you. Look out for wardrobes, kitchen cupboards, anything with a door as you might just find something that will allow you to progress further.

GAMEMODES

  • Play Alone

A chapter-based singleplayer mode where you will play through the chapters of hellish nightmares.

  • Cooperative Solo

Deciding on helping out the world by yourself? You sure can, but bear in mind, this will be extremely challenging and terrifying alone. Grab a team.

  • Cooperative Mode

This would be the smart choice to make, play with up to 3 friends to help you, but don’t let your friend get you killed! Work as a team.

Dead or Mad

Dead or Mad

In the depth of swamps, where neither caravans nor conqueror’s army don’t go, where robbers, looters and such find a secure shelter from the justice, there is a small village. People there had been living their complicated, but quiet lives. They were fishing, gathering berries and mushrooms, but spending evenings in the local tavern to brighten their existence this way. The time there seemed to stop and nothing could destroy the peace. They would still live like this, but fate decreed otherwise. One by one they began to go missing and go mad, while others had died of disease. The reason is unknown. Probably, the place is cursed or the residents have done something for which they should be punished. You’ll have to go through many dangers and find the cause of all these ills, but don’t expect help from the locals. They’ll probably keep something from you.

Hello Neighbor Alpha 2

Hello Neighbor Alpha 2

Hello Neighbor Alpha 2 is great because you can go into the console and type lots of commands, such as the “summon” command, where you can summon any item that you want. Also, It’s the most realistic HN build (with final art), none of that roller coaster, mounted windmill, crazy contraptions thing, but a subtle house in the suburbs, which you can explore. This is a truly fun game build that let’s your imagination run wild with the summon feature and messing with the neighbor. No need to download a console mod for the game, because it comes with one! I like this build very much and I highly recommend you check it out and do what you feel like doing, Hello Neighbor doesn’t always have to be about getting into the neighbor’s basement.

Moonshot - The Great Espionage

Moonshot - The Great Espionage

Once there was a time when 2 big Nations made a Race to Space.

The USA and the SOVIET UNION.

A time of Espionage, of Scientists and Military, of Honor and Glory.

But what if another Nation would take part into this Race?

Welcome to: MOONSHOT – THE GREAT ESPIONAGE.

MOONSHOT is an amazing and charming Retro Plattformer.

You are an Agent for a fictional Country. You get Missions, you execute them.

And that in a very nice done Pixel World that is guided by an absolut amazing Soundtrack that could have jumped out of a sixties Espionage Series.

Hunt: The Unknown Quarry

Hunt: The Unknown Quarry

I’m thoroughly enjoying this game. It’s a great alternative to Cluedo, but slightly more challenging and in-depth, in my opinion. It may take a few games to get to grips with the mechanics, cards and options available, but it won’t be long before you find yourself either being targeted/preyed upon or interrogating/attacking other players. It’s a dog-eat-dog type of survival game, where everyone’s out for themselves including the monster. The theme and daunting background music enhance the game, making you feel slightly uneasy (like prey), not knowing for sure who, what or where the monster is, unless they reveal themselves. Also, playing as the monster is an additional challenge, which requires an alternative strategic approach. You’ll soon find you can’t just go around munching on fellow opponents in broad daylight, but have to maintain a far more stealthy disposition. I felt the game was fairly balanced well, particularly if playing the monster against AI opponents (for mediocre players). However, I haven’t had the chance to properly play any friends online yet, so can’t say if this will be the case against live players, who I think will be a little more savvy. In any case, I believe this could only enhance the game further, making self-preservation more challenging. I’ve seen other comments related to lack of online activity (no one to play with) and about playing for free. For me personally, it’s no big deal, never felt the real need to be able to play strangers online. I took a gamble, bought the game and tested inviting a friend to play (for free), which worked fine, no issues. I was sceptical at first after reading some comments, but am extremely pleased to say how glad I am that I made this purchase. I can’t recommend ‘Hunt…’ highly enough, for those who love Cluedo, Mystery of the Abbey (tabletop games), but then maybe I’m just extremely optimistic and easily pleased.

Okay I love this game. Like a lot it mixes a lot of elements I like. It has a huge learning curve as many said which I think could be cut down like if you had a sheet or a tab to check what monsters did what that would be cool. Other than that the people complaining about assholes in chats and that didn’t group play I bet, its would be much easier playing with just friends than random people

Over all I don’t make a lot of reviews but i love this game so fucking much I’m leaving a review.
