Excellent game! Very challenging but not impossible to figure out. The hint system is very good at pushing you in the right direction without flat out giving you the answer. I invited my friends into Discord and we all brainstormed together to figure it out. It almost felt like we were there in real life figuring out as a group which was awesome! Don’t listen to the negative reviews that were left because the game was too difficult. A lot of thought and effort went into this game and it shows.

Metaphobia

Metaphobia

I started this game at the end of a very tiring day to unwind with some simple puzzles. Instead, I found myself stuck on what turned out to be a relatively easy one early on. I was exhausted, so I fell asleep in the middle of solving it. It happened again because I kept playing at the end of a long day, so I would say my actual playtime is probably 2 hours shorter than recorded, mainly due to the unintentional naps.

I want to clarify that I did not fall asleep because I was bored—the combination of my mental and physical exhaustion from a long day plus being stuck on a puzzle just did me in. I enjoyed the puzzles very much, even when I had to resort to trial and error sometimes!

Pros:

-Music

-Voice (not the acting per se, which is slightly above mediocre, but the variety of differently voiced characters)

-Narrative text (the writing is actually rather good and the amount of work put into writing is admirable)

-Riddles. Riddles are good, wish there were more of those.

Cons

-Poor storytelling. Even though the plot evolves more or less naturally, there are large inconsistencies which spoil the experience. The general storyline itself is primitive-esque and revolves around an overused and outmoded theme. And the ending is outright frustrating on many levels, from the rather poor narrative decision of fitting a good half of the global storyline into one long dialogue to the feeling of dissatisfacton with the outcome.

Unfortunate Spacemen

Unfortunate Spacemen

This game has everything a among us player wants plus sooooooo much more.

First of all this game is free and I mean free not loot boxs or pay to win mechanics, there are somewhat overpriced cosmetics but they are purely cosmetic and ad no gameplay advantage.

There is a story mode which is not bad, a survival mode that’s pretty meh, and shapeshifter the reason everyone plays without going into a long wall of text One of you is a monster and everyone’s name is hidden as a color. Instead of scaresolution for example you see blue the monster looks human until he transforms and the twist he can change color.

Unfortunate spacemen is where you play as one of many unfortunate spacemen/women stuck on a station with a shapeshifting monster that’s out to screw you over one way or another. (there are other gamemodes, however the game and this review will revolve mostly around the shapeshifter gamemode)

Pros:

  • Very large amount of replayability, it has a justifiable amount of maps and weapons that show up in random spots, as do the objectives.

  • Fantastic OST, the recently added menu music is something I can’t help but jam out to (I miss the old music though :( )

The Picture in The House

The Picture in The House

Though it has its flaws, this game is worth playing through at least once. Especially since it’s free.

Pros

  • Good story.

  • Good atmosphere.

  • Actually creepy and scary.

  • Decent voice acting.

  • Movement speed is pretty spot on.

  • Takes less than an hour to play through.

Cons

  • Unoptimized and laggy.

  • Important items and clues too easily overlooked or hidden in darkness.

  • Unnecessary number of buttons for the controls, and the game isn’t even consistent with them.

  • Human models could be better, especially the NPC.

The Picture in The House is one of my favorite Lovecraft stories.

This game does it justice, although it does take some creative license for gameplay.

The audio is suitably atmospheric, and the ambiance is very well suited.

It is suitably short, but does lack a save-feature. Some of the puzzles are a head-scratcher, and saving would help your sanity.

You can probably finish it within 2 hours, a Youtube video did a walkthrough in 36 minutes, but I found the colors too dark, making progression infuriating at times. Great artwork, nice audio elements.

Adventure Escape Mysteries

Adventure Escape Mysteries

This is a set of well-done puzzle games in the adventure genre.

Pay attention to subtle clues – lots of the puzzles depend on solving combination locks where the clues are hidden in the background. Few of them are really hard, most just require good observation, as well as figuring out whether the objects you are counting go from top to bottom, bottom to top, left to right.

It’s got a system where you only get to play a certain number of chapters in two hours… but if you are antsy, buy some credits and go to the next one.

i highly recommend this game!! Am totally enjoying the numerous creative puzzles. Many of them seem rather difficult yet after u figure out the answer many really are right in front of u & just require “thinking outside the box” & click on everything. i personally don’t like using hints & due to that i haven’t had to order any keys or stars. Even the story is interesting! The fact that i got the game “free” is a bonus. I also looked at many of their other games & found that most of them are very well done & again, very creative especially their escape games. So if u love games with many innovative puzzles then try one, i don’t think u will be disappointed…..the makers deserve a BIG THUMBS UP!!!!

Please Love My Computer Game

Short version: if you enjoy really difficult riddles that forces your mind to work on different paces, this game is for you. Do you think you are good at solving riddles? This game will prove that you need more people to actually solve it. Extremely cryptic game with lots and lots things to solve.

Actual review:

I did play all games of Yai Gameworks, and this one cannot be compared with prequel to this game: Close me. On top of all, the game simply forces player to get more people to work on it, because each person sees things differently - and that’s the key. Could easily say, this game is one complicated ARG. Do you enjoy digging in games, thinking a lot, and creating tons of theories about solutions? If you do, you might really enjoy this game. But it also can be really frustrating. With having one line of text and nothing else, player won’t progress in any way till it gets solved. The riddles themselves are smart and unique, and what is important, they forces to make actual brainstorm with other people. This game is NOT made to play alone! This game will also make you stuck in many places till some riddles gets solved. Getting more people means getting more ways of looking at things, which might be it. But above everything: solving in group gives huge satisfaction when finding solution to each of the riddles!

Tltr: If you are an easter-egg hunter, or if you love discovering or digging in games, I HIGHLY reccomend this.

I have played it since beta-keys were available on other sites.

I will not talk much about the content itself. It will hurt your experience.

Only what I can say is this game is about de-cyphering and discovery.

First, watch the trailer. You’ll find some letters are written in awkward font.

If you can guess at this point like “Ah, this game is about finding letters of the font. After I collect 26 or 52 letters, it’s over”, then YOU WILL LOVE THIS DEFINETELY.

Virtual Exhibition

Virtual Exhibition

I like the intention behind this, allowing artists to make a virtual exhibit to display their art to the world. And while this could easily be a cashgrab, its a nifty little free to play game. Really cool.I would like a graphics option to disable specifically the motion blur. I don’t like it very much as a personal preference so that would be awesome. Also I want to pick up the red egg, that would be dope.Cheers.EDIT: Not only can you pick up the egg , but there is much to uncover. CHECK THIS OUT!!

Excellent concept, well executed.

I enjoyed wandering around, taking my time to study each image on display. Felt as though I were in an actual gallery, but without worrying that I was looking too long or standing in someone’s way (plus, no social distancing!). Both a relaxing and inspiring experience.

Looking forward to hopefully seeing more works on show in a future update. I’m excited to see where this development goes.

Friendly Fire

Friendly Fire

First of all, I would like to apologize for my previous hasty negative comment. After many updates, this is already an excellent free game with 5 endings. Although the plot is relatively simple, we can also see the efforts of the developers. The picture of the game is also excellent. Plus some novice guidance, the whole game appears more exquisite.

So now I have changed and choose to give this game a good comment, thank the developers for sharing, and look forward to your next work expectantly.

Nice game fun and short.

But, there are some glitches: (when i say reset or restart the game I mean without exiting out from the game)

If you jump right before hitting the water you will jump on invisible ground (for some reason) and you can get to the other side of the river just as the game starts. But if your holding the rock and throw him the same time your feet touch the ground the rock starts floating and pushing to the left. He then pushes you himself and the small fire man into the wall which sends you to the very top of the map above the cloud softlocking your game. You can also not be pushed into the wall and have the rock and small fire go into the wall to softlock as well. Lastely if you do the same technique but throw him tot he right them he will float above the water and when you respawn you will constantly drown and not be able to jump and be softlocked.

This app originally released in Russian so I didn’t download it. Luckily, English language support was added back on November 3, 2021. I strongly recommend this experience for anyone interested in history. I will note that the developer is a Russian government owned news agency (Russia Today). However, I found all the information in this app to be historically accurate.

And this is an important piece of history to remember. This is about the trial of five Nazi criminal defendants which include: Göring, Dönitz, Rosenberg, von Ribbentrop and von Schirach. You’re basically collecting evidence in this app sufficient for their conviction and sentencing for crimes against humanity. The whole experience takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to complete. Most of the information is narrated for you and you will see some videos, lots of photos, & several texts, along with visiting different historically important locations for these defendants.

Nuremberg: VRdict of Nations is a free to play VR experience that is about history. It worked on my HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok, was understandable. This program is now in English, by selecting the English flag on desk. Has 13 steam achievements. Has instructions on vr use at beginning. The English voiceovers was understandable. You have 5 persons of interest to investigate. Looks like there is more than 30 minutes of playtime in this program. You have to search for clues in a linear fashion.

Burn Me Twice

Burn Me Twice

This game was absolutely stunning. Some mention the “glitchy” graphics. That part did not bother me in the slightest. The story kept me interested the entire time, and when I wasn’t playing the game, my mind was turning about how I could get to the next milestone, in the game. The atmosphere of the game is stunning. The music was my favorite part. I would purchase a soundtrack, to this game, for sure! The sound effects were also impeccable. I did have to wait for a bug to get fixed: I was unable to complete the last part of the game; I won’t go into detail, but it was an issue with the “bone zone”.

Nice little game that left me wanting more.

It seems to be heavily inspired by the Phoenix Wright series, similarly splitting gameplay into investigation phase, where you hunt for clues and evidence, and trial phase where you present what you’ve found in court. The major difference is that the trials are rather simplistic in comparison - unlike PW, there’s no witness interrogation, and the evidence pool is much smaller. On the other hand, investigations seem more involved - it has Zelda-style gameplay (sans combat for the most part), where you explore an open world from a top-down perspective and solve puzzles. There are unfortunately only two cases to solve (plus the actiony final sequence), and the first serves as a sort of tutorial, so it’s easy and straightforward. The second one, however, is pretty good, with a few somewhat challenging puzzles to solve.
