How To Make Scrambled Eggs

Add some butter to pan on medium-low heat. While it melts, combine eggs with some milk, add salt and pepper. Add into the pan once hot. Stir occasionally until the eggs have firmed up to your taste. For cheesier eggs, add cheese. For bacon flavor, add bacon. Do not add pets or spouses.

Sneaky Kitten

Sneaky Kitten

Sneaky Kitten is a family-friendly non-violence game, where you play as a cat to collect coins and other trinkets. Do this by solving problems and sneaking past some non-friendly dogs.

Play as a cat!

Have fun playing as a cat! Experience the excitement of being a fluffy cat who can run and jump around in fun levels. The goal of the game is to sneak around the enemies (that are dogs) and steal their treasures.

Exciting stealth gameplay

Dogs are patrolling the area around the treasures. To steal them you have to be very sneaky to pass the dogs, finding paths where the dogs can’t spot you and sometimes distract them from their original path, then quickly sneak past them before they come back to spot you.

Non-Violence

We know that most family-friendly games today include violence. Our philosophy at Eight Lives is to avoid violence, which is why we have made Sneaky Kitten without violence.

Problem solving

Sneaky Kitten is a game with tricky problems to solve and situations to get out of.

Collectibles

Throughout the game there will be trinkets you can steal from the dogs, unrelated to the main mission. Steal all the collectables and you might get a reward!

Cellular Harvest

This is a terrific short form game. I made sure to get all the photos and play both versions. A good hour and a half of exploration and walking.

Cellular Harvest is a short but sweet experience. It’s hard to describe much about it that you can’t see in the store page description without spoilers. It’s a dark, creepy take on the small Pokemon Snap genre!

Things to Know:

  • It’s pretty short, 30 minutes. Nothing wrong with a short game, but $7 feels a little steep for something this length with no replay value. (Maybe $3-$5)

  • The only difference between Green and Purple is one is day and one is night respectively. It’s just a lighting and color swap, nothing else changes.

Shutterbug Stud

Shutterbug Stud

Shutterbug Stud is a fun, character driven, scavenger hunt, where the player is commissioned to take pictures of local girls for a calendar. As such, the player must roam the town and countryside looking for willing girls to photograph, and fulfilling tasks for ~almost~ willing girls. For every (quality) picture you deliver you are paid, and are one step closer to the goal of a finished calendar and, hopefully, a fat wallet.

An RPG Maker game, enjoy exploring the town, seeing the sights (and the girls) and maybe finding some hidden secrets to discover.

The core game is filled with characters and pictures that range from cute to a little suggestive. A planned expansion has pictures ranging from suggestive to very suggestive, but still fairly tame. Further expansions (or third party art) may push these limits even further.

FEATURING:

  • • 12 Major Characters

  • • 24 Reward Pictures

  • • Scenic Morlock Lake (Town and Environs) to Explore

  • • Standard RPG Maker Controller Support

  • • Art package free (found in core game files)

  • • DLC Coming Soon!

Alt254

Alt254

My story with this game has been one of love and hate. The reason I bought the game (and created the Steam account) was the feeling it aroused in me when I remembered the good times I had as a child playing “Adventure” with my friends. However, the first impression with Alt254 was not as satisfactory as I expected, perhaps because I was looking for something similar to the experience lived with one of my favorite video games.

For some reason I kept playing and, despite a few moments of frustration and having found some minor bugs, I managed to complete the game … twice. Now I have seen a new update, but I don’t think I will play a 3rd time again to see the changes. What I am clear about is that it is a game that deserves a chance (sometimes it makes you want to quit) and that it may become one of those hidden gems that every player should enjoy! Congrats to the team!

In short, I really like the game, but I can’t recommend it due to the bugs.

I like the minimalist design. It’s interesting how much can be conveyed with just a small number of multicolored square blocks. Music is also nice and retro. Good ambiance. Controls have been improved and are smoother than when it was first released.

I don’t like that the enemies respawn every time I use a save point to heal. As a design choice, I would have the enemies respawn in areas further away from the save point (that is, everywhere else), but not just around the corner. Maybe if they respawned everywhere beyond 200 blocks in any direction of the save point, for example. But, I suppose I can deal with it.

Beyond the Invisible: Darkness Came

Beyond the Invisible: Darkness Came

You’ve been called to check a SOS signal from the town of Gateville and when you arrive on site, you’re attacked by a shadow. What’s happening? Why do you feel like the world is at stake?

Beyond the Invisible: Darkness Came is a casual adventure game, with puzzles and hidden objects scenes… oh, sorry, only four HO scenes (and one in the bonus chapter). In other words, the game is more about solving some puzzles and finding objects, combine them and use them to advance.

I must say that the game has a good way to tell the story (cutscenes are good), that the voice acting is good and that the rest is correct. I love the HUD and the “diary/notes” feature is different from the usual book. But these points can’t help me to get over the fact that….well, actions are ridiculous. Since when a crane toy can help to retrieve a cat carrier that is meters above on the ice cream shop? Also, how come the big umbrella can’t help to open the trunk of the car but an heavy pipe can? And why a wire can’t open a locked toolbox but an hairpin is? Without forgetting the key with a clock tag that is opening a crate in the garage…. without any clue than your brain remembering the locked box. Oh and the making music with pans during the third HO scene which doesn’t open the trapdoor to get the sieve despite doing the right sequence. Took me I don’t know how many tries before understanding that I had to go slower! Seriously?

While at first I was kind of happy regarding the parti pris regarding the comics like of the introduction, I quickly was disappointed by the game, its logic and the issues regarding the way you have to click to aim properly at what you want.

The Hidden Object scenes are a complete annoyance because of that. You need to click two or three times to the same items for it to be accounted and not having a message regarding spiderwebs on the very first HOG and this problem persist all along the game.

Veneficium: A witch’s tale

Veneficium: A witch’s tale

Veneficium is a 3D Unity based platform game that follows a mysterious yet understandable story about a coven of witches and the protagonists journey to save it from ruin. The story follows a young witch armed with three elemental spells at her disposal all with clear defined uses throughout the game. The mechanics are simple to understand and the world is built with set objects each spell interacts with.

My original thoughts were that the game was delightful and I have come to enjoy simple indie products without any pressure sucking me into deeper content, however, I only managed to play through to the end of level 2 before becoming ridiculously tired with the games physics and constant bugs preventing me from continuing with the story and reaching level 3.

I really like the premise of this game. It is beautiful and interesting! I am just so upset that it is currently unplayable. I have encountered a bug where when you find the light orb in level two you can’t get to the bat wing you need for Henrietta. If you climb the vine it kills you and says you died of gravity. I have encountered at least one random invisible wall that you can walk around so it is pretty useless, the camera is constantly getting blocked by things behind you so you can’t see where you are going, and hit boxes aren’t always consistent. A mini map would also be helpful but it isn’t unplayable without one. The saves are also strange. I have put hours into this level trying to make it work and I will now lose all of my progress on this level that has been saved by the cauldrons. Please fix this beautiful game!

Tales From Off-Peak City Vol. 1

Tales From Off-Peak City Vol. 1

Tales from Off-Peak City is the third game in Cosmo D’s series, after Off-Peak itself, and The Norwood Suite. While playing both of those games isn’t necessary to enjoy this one, it is recommended, as there will be references to the characters in the previous games. (And, y’know, Off-Peak’s free.) At its core, Tales is a walking-and-talking game, exploring the surreal locale of the corner of July Avenue and Yam Street. Make pizza, take pictures, get caught up in about three different conspiracies.

Tales from off-peak city is a third installment of the series of games that take place in the Cosmo D universe. Just like in the Cosmo D’s other games it features a colorful cast of characters that oftentimes verge on nonsensicality but it nevers goes too far and so retains some relatability and feeling that you can piece together what is actually happening in the city - that it’s not an Inland empire kind of unreachable avant-garde. This, i feel, motivates the player to explore this absurd, surreal and intriguing world.
