Needs more development time and testing alot of stuff only half works and the inventory system needs alot of work. They need to change the inventory system as well as change the way your character gets energy replenished, it is currently too tedious to eat/drink. Cannot recommend this game, especially at that price. I see what they were going for and it is a cool concept, but for the price there is much better games for the same if not cheaper. I would like to recommend this game and give a good review, but in its current state I cannot. Hopefully it will get better and I think they should take ideas from games like Space Engineers on how to execute this games functions much better. For now this review will remain negative until much needed improvements are made.

Well, as a self-professed TD game addict, with lots of games to compare it to, this game stands out as one of the best overall Tower Defense games I’ve played. It’s a hidden gem that offers tons of varied action, ops for challenge (lots of replay ability), appealing story line, immersion and just plain fun. And, unlike many TD games I’ve played, even after the learning curve I have not felt bored with any level because they are all so varied and different.

The graphics are truly outstanding with a wide variety of enemies, weapons and maps (albeit IMO per the Early Access version, there needs to be some tweaking on gamma (adjusting within the game graphics, ie. shadow, worked great for me). The only other criticism (and this is being very picky) would maybe if they tweaked the zooming and angle controls for better visibility (I wanted to really check out some of those strange and awesome enemies)

Play scoring matches in co-op mode on randomly generated maps and become a sabotage master!

One match lasts 10 minutes, it’s time to meet the victory condition of the diggers and the saboteur. Matches are played on randomly generated maps.

  • Play one of the roles (digger / saboteur)

  • As a saboteur, don’t let yourself be exposed

  • Replenish consumable equipment

  • Remember the battery in the headlamp

  • Demolish parts of tunnels

  • Each match is a new randomly generated map

  • Earn STEAM achievements

  • Have fun with your friends or players from all over the world!

Diggers:

The gold is in one of the few marked places. Find them before the time runs out.

Saboteur:

If time runs out and no gold is found, you win! Use the colophon, ax, dynamite and persuasion to lead the diggers in the tunnels incorrectly.

Equipment:

Each item has a certain durability. Pickaxes, flashlight batteries, dynamite etc. can be found in the respective chests.

Demolition:

Tunnel fragments can be demolished by saboteurs and diggers. Remember, however, that the collapsed tunnel cannot be rebuilt.

One of us is a saboteur, it’s up to him to keep it a secret until the very end and get all the gold for himself!

03/10/2020: Honestly big big step for open world ONLINE zombie games. Dont get me wrong it does have bugs but all games do at some point it gets better between all the positive comments and dedicated people willing to put in the effort within the community, being patient enough that good games dont come fast. 7/10 good game Needs work but all in all happy that DF2 might have a second break at being an awesome game on steam!!

8/17/2020: Update on my review. I started playing this game late last year on october of 2019. It had alot of bugs, not gonna lie yet so much progress has happened in those 10 months. The community has gotten less toxic from when i started playing because the people who stayed really loved the game. I have met alot of good players, friends in here who were kind and patient enough to teach new players how the game works. Y’all should really try it out. If ya need help message me in the game, ill be glad to lend a hand. - Damntrinity

TL,DR: As it is now, I can’t recommend this game at all, which are more accurately named “Left 4 Dead(-update) Frontier 2”

The developer of this game is a single, lone dev. There are credits to him since he managed to create all of this by himself. Unfortunately, this game is not Stardew Valley, and imo is not the type of game where you can realistically work alone and provide updates regularly. He does get help nowadays, but since the updates roll very slowly, most regular people that actually play this game in the past (not just start a new character, quit after 2 hours), stopped playing.

This is a launch day review. Just for some perspective as of writing this review I have played a decent amount already, 76 hours, due to previously having access to the Beta.

Pros

  • Insane number of ghost interactions compared to other paranormal games (currently 50+), with already 8 ghost types in the game, with many more to come. Both of these in combination add a lot of unpredictability and replayability to the game.

  • Very creepy atmosphere and ambience that adds to the horror element. No cheap jump scares here.

For an early access game, this game is absolutely amazing. I haven’t experience most of the game breaking bugs that other people have so my review on things are mostly based on my experience.

The Gameplay:

For the first couple of runs I have done the smallest map, Potts Road. It takes a little used to getting accustomed to the environment and figuring out how things work, but when you start to get the flow of things you start to understand what is needed to be done and how you need to survive and cast exorcisms. The process of subconsciously scanning the environment for any changes or disturbances that appear is something I’m quite fond of. You’re not just guessing or being brain dead about your decisions as if you fail the exorcism or get the select the wrong ghost, you have no choice but to immediately evacuate as you only have one attempt in exorcising the ghost. This creates a sense of tension that makes the player have to analyze the situation you’re in and how you’re going to do things to find concrete evidence of which type of ghost along with confirming what evidence items are needed for the ghost and the support items required for the exorcism.

Underlings

All in all a great game. It has that old school feel as advertised. Like games from the ancient 80’s and 90’s, it doesn’t hold your hand and challenges you to beat it. Victory is far from certain. I haven’t beat it yet but, when I do, that feeling of achievement is sure to follow. In contrast to the empty feeling from beating adventure games that autopilot the player to certain victory, I prefer games like this one.

There’s a lot more to the crafting system than I expected. I was surprised as this game has more crafting structures than most other game out there, and not just some one time use stations either. They all get used over and over.

REVIEW UPDATE #2

I am glad that the “instant noodles” nest exploit, armor, and repair bug has been addressed, it is a much better gaming experience now.

I wish there there were an easier way to create and join servers (think “Don’t Starve).

I still love the game & I think that you should buy it.

Vantage: Primitive Survival Game

Vantage: Primitive Survival Game

This is creation from around 2004 of lone programmer (sometimes with help of artists).

I was seen this around 2010, with just singleplayer, nice world editor, spear-fishing and short decay of bananas.

This is like old good Wurm Online, but even more hardcore in crafting and inventory management. But not such pretty, there’s still feels of “programmer’s art”.

Interface can be quite hard to understand. Especially folder-tree inventory.

There’s only two hands to carry two items, unless you tug out enough grass or cattails to twine the cordbelt for carrying bunches of lightweights. Or crack and eat out the coconut cup.

Vantage Review

(Early Access)

Rating 2/5 - Good Idea, But … Room for Improvement.

Vantage gives you the opportunity to act out the life of as a prehistoric / nomad early human around 250,000 B.C.E. It encourages crafting, learning, hunting and fighting to survive, Gameplay is rewarding and makes you earn all of your progress, but think twice about tackling that Mammoth solo. Gameplay, at the time of this review is limited, and incredibly slow, but has a lot of potential to be improved into a co-operative online multiplayer experience that would encourage players to band together, and war with other tribes.

Projekt Z

Projekt Z

What is Projekt Z?

Projekt Z is a free-to-play first-person shooter set in a WW2 Zombie scenario on a secret German island. The game focuses around the “Projekt Z”, a project run by the Nazis to turn Zombies, which have been discovered on the island earlier, into weapons to turn the war around in Nazi Germany’s favor. On the Island, you will discover various secret Nazi projects related and unrelated to “Projekt Z”.

Projekt Z Core Gamemode

You have the HUB, you can craft weapons, ammo, and other consumables here. You will also be able to build things inside the hub (similar to Fallout 4’s settlement building). From the hub, you start missions. Missions belong to a story arch and can influence each other, depending on the order in which you do them. An example: a mission where you clear the island’s sewer system will lead to different zombie types appearing in other missions that otherwise were trapped in the sewer system.

Story arcs have a beginning and an end and shall not be stretched indefinitely. After all, the best stories are those that were planned with a definitive end in mind.

During missions, you can find items, building materials (for the hub) and recruit personal for your hub.

Missions can be repeated for gathering more materials/loot.

Projekt Z Wave Survival Mode

The Wave Survival mode has nothing to do with the game’s core mode. In this mode, you have to fight for your life, kill endless waves of zombies and upgrade your weapons on your workbench.

Level up your character in every round with drugs like heroin, alcohol, or cocaine!
