Summoner’s Mess

Summoner’s Mess

Worth every cent (and much more) of its price, it’s very entertaining to discover the map and each unsuccessful run makes you go for another one to see how far can you go this time.

It has a really nice art direction, and the sound ambiance goes perfectly with the game. Just buy it, with that price it’s like a gift.

This is a very nice and interesting game, the graphics, the music, the mood… everything fits perfectly.

I really enjoyed playing it and doing all the possible endings. It is cool to be able to easily remember the rooms and little by little knowing all the place like it was my own house.

If you enjoy games where the progression is based on your own knowledge instead of unlockable skills, then give it a try!

The game gives you a proper amount of hours of game time given the fact that is super cheap!

Puzzle games can be pretty hit or miss for me, so of course I have lots of them partially played in my library. This was one of the most fun puzzle games I’ve ever played; It’s super chill with great vibes and an interesting backstory! It took 6 hours for me to get through the casual mode, and I spent most of them at my computer with snacks and tea, cause it’s impossible not to feel cozy playing it. Especially with the music! So good.

Since it’s an indie game and I couldn’t google it, I will say: in the tutorial part at the start of the game, I bought a piece of equipment in the “office”, and when I went to make the next potion, it prompted me to buy that same piece of equipment, but the store was “sold out” and I couldn’t close the prompt or continue. It was early on anyway, so I just started over, but don’t do that :P

Needs more development time and testing alot of stuff only half works and the inventory system needs alot of work. They need to change the inventory system as well as change the way your character gets energy replenished, it is currently too tedious to eat/drink. Cannot recommend this game, especially at that price. I see what they were going for and it is a cool concept, but for the price there is much better games for the same if not cheaper. I would like to recommend this game and give a good review, but in its current state I cannot. Hopefully it will get better and I think they should take ideas from games like Space Engineers on how to execute this games functions much better. For now this review will remain negative until much needed improvements are made.

Just finished the the game and really enjoyed it, there are many details and a lot of effort was put into it. It was a great old school adventure with some interesting twists and funny dialogues. If you are not sure, there is a demo.

Beyond a Total Loss is good.

It’s about what you’d expect it to be based on the visuals, and is more or less what I love about indie games.

A quirky story about a man who ends up going through a series of unfortunate events.

Post-Soviet Yandere

Post-Soviet Yandere

This project is a mix of horror and crafting genres. The whole game fits into a week of the life of a little Russian girl. Every day the character must make a particular magic ritual, using the materials at hand. At the same time, the player must control the activity of otherworldly and hostile forces. The girl should periodically look in the mirrors, which are distracting from her task. The movement of evil spirits of the apartment is visible only in reflections. But what happens if the spirit gets too close?

Revolution: Path of a Weaponsmith

Revolution: Path of a Weaponsmith

Alternate History

It is 1989, due to a breakthrough success of the so-called Star Wars space defense program the United States has become a sole state entirely protected from a nuclear weapon attack. Its influence has since spread over most of the world through both diplomatic and military measures.

USSR weakened by a devastating defeat in the Afghan War has been swiftly overtaken. Many large cities lie in ruin, others are being controlled by the US military forces. While the occupants are establishing control over the new territories rebels are gaining more and more members each day, many of whom have combat experience.

You play as a scavenger-trader whose main source of income is to search remnants of your home-town for provisions, valuables and sometimes even weapons. Sell your findings to make sure that your loved ones are kept safe.

Stealth-action

The town is being overrun by military, bandits, and rebels. You are often outgunned and outnumbered so direct confrontation can often be deadly. Use stealth and explosives to turn the odds back in your favor. Gather supporters to help you or force enemy factions to fight each other making a room for your next move.

  • Disguises - got a clean kill on a guard? Take his uniform and try to look as if you know what you are doing, most of his colleagues will not pay too much attention to you. But beware, higher-ranking officers can notice even the smallest mistakes in your disguise and become suspicious.

  • Weapon visibility - civilians can’t carry visible weapons, but you can still have a pistol hidden. Or you can just fold your AKMS and hide it in your backpack to take it out when it is time for a more radical approach.

  • Visibility - people will have a much harder time noticing you in complete darkness, choose your path carefully or just get rid of those pesky lightbulbs.

  • Noise cover - guards will investigate suspicious noises unless of course there is heavy machinery working nearby that will cover that silenced shot sound. Pay attention to your environment and use it to your advantage.

Inventory Management

Food and medical supplies are scarce and hard to find. You will have to look around abandoned and demolished city buildings to scavenge for valuables and provisions. Or you can target some of the better-protected gang or even military warehouses. Alternatively, there is always an option of taking things you want from other survivors by force. The choice is all yours as well as the consequences.

  • Loot - search the houses and enemy corpses for useful stuff. Some things you will be able to use directly, others can be traded for what you need.

  • Backpacks - equip larger backpacks to be able to carry more, but be careful not to overexert yourself, too much weight would slow you down and make you get tired quickly.

  • Gear - want to see in the dark? Get night-vision goggles and take them on, but watch out as they will make you look suspicious.

AI

The world of Revolution is filled with different people: bandits, USSR and US civilians, US military and rebels and honestly they don’t get along too good. Firefights between factions are happening pretty often and sometimes even civilians can pick up a dropped weapon to join one of the sides.

  • Factions - members of rival factions would be hostile to each, that is when they identify each other as enemies which is done by judging clothes and also a location at which they meet.

  • Civilians will usually run away at the sounds of shots, but sometimes they can join

  • No seeing you through the booshes - don’t you just hate it when an enemy is somewhere behind the bushes where you can’t see them but apparently sees you well and can shoot right through, well not here!

Difficult Choices

You will face hard choices every step of the way. Do I help the rebels or the occupants? Do I trade or take by force? Does this family deserve to survive, or do my people need their supplies more? Every choice you make will have a varying impact on the world around you, but remember not everything is as it seems and more often than not you will have to choose the lesser evil.

  • Story - become part of the epic story in which you will have to make hard choices between sides where black and white are hard to tell apart.

  • Branching dialogues - choose what you say careful, choices in the dialogues matter just as much. In many situations fight can be made easier or avoided if you talk to the right people

  • Characters - communicate with many different characters each having its own personality and preferences.

Legends of Eisenwald

Legends of Eisenwald

It pains me to see that such a great game only has ‘mostly positive’ reviews, whereas, in my opinion, it should have actually been ‘very/overwhelmingly’ instead of ‘mostly’. It is definitely one of my favorite games; in fact, it made my summer last year. I’ve played through it three times (including all the DLCs), twice here on Steam and once elsewhere, and I’m sure I’ll replay it at least for the fourth time.

This game is by the way the first modern RPG I’ve played, and it has also – apart from being a gorgeous experience itself – managed to draw me to the genre (I’ve always preferred playing pure adventure games and eventually strategies) and discover several other awesome games. But this one is going to remain my incomparable first love forever. :) At first I was a bit hesitant about playing it, as some reviews claimed it be too hard/confusing etc., but I cannot agree here. Once I got used to the mechanics, it was a sheer joy to play. At times, ‘Legends of Eisenwald’ can indeed be hard, especially considering your finances at the very beginning and certain fights, but I – almost utterly inexperienced in playing RPGs as I was back then – didn’t find it frustratingly tough. I think it was hard to a very reasonable degree, and I kept on feeling rewarded by the narrative through the whole game.

Okay.. phwoa!!… long game. Just finished it - in at around 100 hours - Final Fantasy eat your heart out. A few late nights let me tell you. I feel that this game deserves the time and effort for me to write at least something about it and how I felt about it even if to just say it was a good game. But I will do more because I felt this game really was something special and I have derived so much enjoyment from it that it is the least I could do.

I bought this game on sale for a few pennies (I can’t remember now but I think it was for under $5) and didn’t really have too high hopes for it considering its price and look but was then completely overturned in my opinion by what is essentially a really great game that in no wise is properly represented by its appearance. DON’T judge a book by its cover! Boy, don’t judge this book by its cover, it is a great game for what its worth. I think this game goes for around $20 more or less on steam and that is about the right price for this game. You won’t regret parting with that hard earned cash. If you see this game for anything less than $10 buy it straight away, don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it. You might ask if it is such a great game why is it only worth $20 dollars? Well that is what I will attempt to explain.

THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid

THE ORIGIN: Blind Maid

So, after playing the game for 6 almost 7 hours, here is my review about it:

This game scared the %!#$ out of me. The graphics are just good and pleasant to watch, there’s a lot of good details, but i think the strongest point on this game is the music and voice acting. These 2 immerse you into the environment and makes you feel like you are truly on the worst place you can be. This is only talking about “visuals”.

If we talk about game play itself, that’s another story. At first I though It was so annoying to shoot, run and get tired, and stuffs like that, but afterwards I realized you have to upgrade your stats to be able to run for more time, shoot without aiming, and that gives this game a new level of difficulty which probably won’t be pleasant for some people, but for me its definitely a fresh new way of playing, which seems a lot like the good old games.

Warning, this review may contain spoilers

I received this game to go in and rate it and did so during a stream yesterday. In fact here I will represent some of my opinions and those who were watching my stream.

I would like to clarify before, that I am a PC gamer and although I use an Xbox360 controller during some games, I play this kind of games directly with mouse and keyboard.

I don’t have a very powerful PC, but it’s an i7 8700K with 32Gb RAM and a 6Gb 1060. I think the PC more than meets the recommended requirements (obviously the minimum requirements as well) except for the graphics that advise a RTX 2060. I had to lower some of the graphics because stremear the game and play it at the same time, it seemed that in some moments -as when you are attacked by the first demons- FPS dropped.

The Stonks Market

The Stonks Market

A charming meme game that manages to capture my experience in the stock market frighteningly well. The writing from Vagabond Dog is what you expect, funny and well paced. It’s a relatively short playthrough, but it’s worth to go through a second time if you lost it all when you yolo’d in $JANC the first time. 10/10 would hold again.

A short, but comical story about a clueless man flirting with the stock market for the first time.

The trading platform sections are enjoyable and are critical to directing the narrative one way or the other. Are you going to lose more than just your money, or will you triumph and end on a high? The story being tied to my trading performance made me care about doing well to potentially get a good conclusion.

I’m about to go through it again and see how my story differs if I YOLO it all!
