Rear of Business

Rear of Business

Far too early access, there’s nothing to do other than walk or run around lol

currently bad fps, can walk through props/objects. can also walk through walls/windows in many buildings.

not sure why you have weapons there’s nothing to shoot. i started with some grenades but not really sure why lol.

I’d be interested to see if the devs actually do anything with this game or if it’s just a failed project.

Unfortunately i’ll be after a refund..

Eternal Evil Prologue

Eternal Evil Prologue

Eternal Evil Prologue is a demo for an unreleased/may never be released FPS adventure/zombie game that seems to have been slapped together by flipping a template from the venerable Unreal Engine.

While this is free, it’s not a game, it’s a demo, that was misleadingly published on Steam without being flagged as a demo. This is a common mistake.

As far as demos go, it shows promise as it’s copied from a reasonably good template set for Unreal. However, it’s buggy and largely unplayable despite the nice framework and art that copying assets from the Unreal store provides.

The game is GREAT but assuming you have a good machine to run it.

Played on my old PC and it was terrible, very long loading times, 10-15mins, and there are loading screens between different maps. Add to this very low fps, super laggy on medium settings and it becomes basically unplayable,

But I really wanted to play it after watching one walkthrough, the youtuber had a lot of fun and he didn’t have these issues.

So I tried Eternal Evil on a more powerful machine and it was a completely different story!

So, after playing the game for 6 almost 7 hours, here is my review about it:

This game scared the %!#$ out of me. The graphics are just good and pleasant to watch, there’s a lot of good details, but i think the strongest point on this game is the music and voice acting. These 2 immerse you into the environment and makes you feel like you are truly on the worst place you can be. This is only talking about “visuals”.

If we talk about game play itself, that’s another story. At first I though It was so annoying to shoot, run and get tired, and stuffs like that, but afterwards I realized you have to upgrade your stats to be able to run for more time, shoot without aiming, and that gives this game a new level of difficulty which probably won’t be pleasant for some people, but for me its definitely a fresh new way of playing, which seems a lot like the good old games.

Warning, this review may contain spoilers

I received this game to go in and rate it and did so during a stream yesterday. In fact here I will represent some of my opinions and those who were watching my stream.

I would like to clarify before, that I am a PC gamer and although I use an Xbox360 controller during some games, I play this kind of games directly with mouse and keyboard.

I don’t have a very powerful PC, but it’s an i7 8700K with 32Gb RAM and a 6Gb 1060. I think the PC more than meets the recommended requirements (obviously the minimum requirements as well) except for the graphics that advise a RTX 2060. I had to lower some of the graphics because stremear the game and play it at the same time, it seemed that in some moments -as when you are attacked by the first demons- FPS dropped.

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

Deus Ex: Game of the Year Edition

The narrative of this game is absolutely frightening. When I first played it some years ago, I was blown away by the attention to detail and twists and turns of the story. When I replayed it more recently, I instead felt that I was looking out my bedroom window, as though the writers had seen the future. I don’t know where Warren Spector is hiding his time machine, but I’d love to have a chat with him about it.

As for the game itself: if you’re willing to deal with some truly awful gunplay and some questionable controls, this is easily one of the greatest games ever made. It’s extremely difficult for me to describe the amazing feeling that comes from playing a good immersive sim; being able to hack specific ATM accounts because you read someone’s personal notes, reading newspaper articles that describe and flesh out the world just like a good book, the choices you have when it comes to conversations and interactions with both main characters and side characters; it all feels so real. I’ve truly never felt anything like it. I realize how cheesy that sounds, but I simply don’t have the talent for putting into words how incredible this game is underneath the dated exterior.

Devilated

Devilated

So, I spent (80 USD) on RE 8 for my son. He finished the game in 1 day under 11hrs of playtime. I watched him. The game had like 3 different enemies aside from the bosses… oh the bosses (entire sections devoid of enemies, a hide and go seek boss fight, etc). BUT BUT it has a village.. that is entirely linear and changes after each set piece, to push you forward to the mechwarrior and call of duty bits… IN A HORROR FPS game. Lord help us all.

Devilated (25 USD) has 30 levels and 30 bosses. Enemies are absolutely disgusting and terrifying to look at. Some sneak up on you without sound until they take a bite out of your ass. 100s of weapons and several different impactful enemy types to adapt to. Gameplay mechanics like Bullet Time, Dive, and Dash. I am around 20hrs into the game and have only just reached level 19. The game takes inspiration from the greats! Serious Sam, Doom, Quake, etc.. It even has inventory management ala RE4.. you know the game RE8 wanted to be lol

Real player with 33.5 hrs in game

Devilated is a game that I can’t really describe properly. It’s a one-man effort that clearly harkens back to ye olde Doom and Quake and in some ways feels a a bit mashed together like old WADs but remade in Unity. Despite it’s problems it is an enjoyable, chaotic, fast-paced romp. No story, no context - just you, a hundred guns, 30 levels and a horde of demons. It’s far from perfect but if you can stand a bit of jank and are looking for a quick-paced shooter - this one is worth your time.
