Pareidolia

Pareidolia

“The experience of human life is an alternation of joy and suffering”

Pareidolia is a psychological horror, where you can control your character from two perspectives, which imply artistic style and gameplay.

Pareidolia is the tendency for perception to impose a meaningful interpretation on a nebulous stimulus, usually visual, so that one sees an object, pattern or meaning where there is none. Pareidolia is a game about a game. You will live in and out of it, meet different creatures and choose whether to help them. It all reflects how you see things.

Kitrinos: Inside the Cube

Kitrinos: Inside the Cube

Kitrinos: Inside the Cube is a mouse only puzzle game that radiates science fiction retrofuturism with a clear influence of Kubricks 2001: A Space Odyssey. It’s predominantly an artistic game with a handful of well thought out puzzles and a story told in short cutscenes and text.

This game piles up retrofuturistic art design with 3D models reminiscent of early 2000’s adventure games and surreal, alien environments. Aside from this conglomeration of distinguished visuals, the music is as if tailor-made. It’s strikingly well composed and adds in equal measure to the strange and captivating atmosphere.

I tend to avoid puzzle games like it’s the meaning of my life but I had to stray off that path, simply for the artwork.

It was worth it even though I didn’t manage to solve the final puzzle. The art direction fits in perfectly with the soundtrack and the ideology of the game, creating a fantastic atmosphere.

Tip: The developer has left hints and solutions to the puzzles in the community hub disscusions.

I have to say: “I really enjoyed the ride”.

Price per hours played seemed very reasonable.

The graphics are fine and the game ran smooth without so much as a hiccup.

I think SOME of the puzzles are a stretch and I had to just Brute Force a few (I found that frustrating BUT It Could just have been something that I missed).

Another thing that I found strange was that there were Other Puzzles visible to me that I DIDN’T NEED TO SOLVE to move on…curious.

The GREAT THING is that there isn’t BACKTRACKING!!!

Thank you to the developer and publisher at mc2games for creating a game for me to escape, think and enjoy.

The growing list of challenging escape room games continues to grow with the inclusion of the excellent title Escape Room Tested on Humans(ERToH). A challenging, polished game with a surprising message at the end is an absolute must play.

Simple story premise, you play as Alex who awakens in what appears to be a jail cell and must escape. As you move room to room you will come along with a few notes that will give meaning to what is going on and a very surprising ending message from the developer that made me pause though I will not spoil.
