Mask of the Plague Doctor

Mask of the Plague Doctor

This game is fantastic. I’ve streamed and played this for days chapter by chapter and loved the hell out of each one. I love how each choice effects the dialogue, the outcome, and your stats. It’s so in depth and hits you hard for the consequences of your actions. Not gonna lie I almost cried at one point. I’m glad to have gotten the opportunity to solve the mystery of Thornback Hollow and found a cure along with a very wholesome ending. I highly recommend this game and i’m glad I payed full price instead of buying it when the discount was around because in my opinion the story is worth that and more.

I don’t get how people could give good reviews to this game. Don’t you have any good taste? Although there is no problem with writing style itself, the story line is simply dry and boring. Not to mention you often have to get through large chunks of text for the next choice-making, which serious tried my patience and made me struggle to keep my focus. The characters are also so shallow and two-dimension that I felt the writer just decided to throw in some balanced merits and weaknesses, and call them “characters”. Maybe it’s just my thing, but this is one of the few pure-text games which I just cannot make myself get through to the end, because it’s just that boring and dry.

Syntherapy

Syntherapy

This is a pretty darn unique game, gotta start off by saying that. Syntherapy is an interactive narrative game where you take on the role of Dr. Park, a therapist who takes on the task of providing help to an AI named Willow who has seemingly gained sentience.

Amidst the therapy sessions, you also have to maintain a good relationship with several people (and things). Firstly there’s Tara, one of Willow’s creators and closest friends. Second we have Dr. Freeman, the head of the university that is currently funding the research that helped create Willow. Finally there is your own ethics, if you stray too far from what you call professionalism then that factor will suffer.

Intro

As a self-proclaimed great psychotherapist (without any real training, experiences or studies), I would say this is a game test my theories of my options. At least, no humans were harm in the testing of my theories.

Pros

  • introduction to basic mental health issues

  • introduction to basic mental health therapy methods

  • Many Multiple endings

  • Requires deep thinking

  • I like some of quotes. one example is " :): It’s all in how you look at things"

! Able to sense the struggle between gaining trust, and how revealing personal relatable details might affect professionalism

I started playing this when arteries was the only map available. The game has come a long ways, the new maps have been enjoyable, and while they still have some things to work on and bugs to crush, I’ve found myself enjoying what is very much like a space / aircraft fighter game with resource harvesting.

Also, if you are a fan of movies like Innerspace or Fantastic Voyage, you may find yourself sucked into this even easier.

Better than I thought!

I’m not a big fan of such kinds of games BUT this one hooked me for a few hours.

Nice stories.

Interesting to read while you’re playing.

Good atmosphere (too much sfx of machine guns in the background, imho, but it’s not a big deal - just make the music louder! :)).

Well done, guys!

Wonderful start!

Keep going and good luck with the next project!

Really would like to play your next game.
