Cardinal Chains

Cardinal Chains

This is a fantastic little puzzle game that offers a simple premise but a lot of depth. Your goal is simple, make chains of integers that only ascend. While this is simple at first, the more complex the board and the more starting points you get make for an increasingly difficult challenge, and with over 500 puzzles you will be at this game for a while. It’s the sort of game you get suck on for hours and then come back to a few days later and solve in a few minutes, and then get stuck all over again.

Mastho is Together

Precision platform is always difficult, right, no surprises. But here the level is really insane. You will suffer, but the minimalist music is well fitted and will bring you some calm. But make no mistake, you will suffer here. I recommend it for those who are experts in precision platforms at the hell level.

A really fun and hard game! Not so hard so as to make the game only beatable by experts, but surely enough to make you want to master its mechanics and think of the best way of passing through the levels. And not only do the levels ask you to be fast and precise, but often also require you to think and come up with a good strategy for beating a more delicate point.

And one of the best parts of the game: even if you keep dying and dying at the same point in a level, you will never get angry because the music is so soothing and relaxing - the perfect match for a game like this!

Sudokolorful

It’s a very relaxing game. Perfect for when you just want to chill out and still exercise your brain a little. I liked the idea of a color-based Sudoku. It would be interesting if we had an option for customizing our own palettes.

The Lone Blade

The Lone Blade

The Lone Blade is a 3D platformer where you are a soul trapped in a sword. The game takes place in the ruins of a world that once was yours. In order to redeem yourself, you will have to go through deserts, canyons, and temples… to the highest mountain.

«Punished by the gods, the greedy one was locked up in the blade, his ascent will be his redemption»

The main interest of being a sword is exploring new ways of moving around and overcoming obstacles. Jump, dash, spin or spike to the ground and walls, in other words create your own path.

The game takes place in the ruins of a world that once was yours, immersing the player in an uncanny universe: giants and folks trapped in the sand, humongous gates, staring eyewalls…

The game is meant to be challenging, but not unfair or frustrating. The difficulty is a direct reflection of the game lore: the character need of redemption, and the struggle that it implies.

Terra Nil

Terra Nil

Terra Nil, from eco-warriors Free Lives (Broforce) and recycled publisher Devolver Digital, presents players with the task of environmental rejuvenation.

The phases of wasteland reclamation

Begin with the water system, slowly purify the soil, and cultivate pioneer greenery. Embark on more ambitious tasks, restore biodiversity, fix the climate, introduce wildlife, and finally recycle all the structures you used to get there, leaving the environment pristine.

Unique, procedurally generated maps

Each region of the game has its own flavour and procedural generation palette. Yet even within a region, no two playthroughs will be the same.

Picturesque landscapes

Navigate sprawling, verdant, hand-painted environments where everything but the rocks move and breathe. A meditative soundtrack and stunning audio palette will accompany your efforts.

The Automatician

The Automatician

Cons:One of the main problem with this game is that it only takes around 2 or less hours to complete it. I also feel as though the story was unfinished. I wish maybe that we could play as Emma when she is the automatician. I also found a key that you can pick up and never found the meaning of it. In the room where the fountain is there is a door that is locked that i thought the mystery key was for. What are all those do not enter signs on those doors about. Why didn’t I ever get to go upstairs. Who are the people that I’m competing with?

Too short, too many bugs, too little response from “developers” (read that “students who have graduated”). This is a fairly clever little game that was not really ready to become a product before, it appears, the course it was written for ended.

We never could figure out how to get into the secret room, even though we must have “solved” the game, as the credit roll came up after we solved the last puzzle. But, there were a couple of unchecked items still on our list of quests. Worse, one of the walkthroughs clearly shows that same item marked as completed just after an action that one would expect to complete it, yet that did not get it marked completed when we took that action ourselves.

Nice and simple game, great music and concept. It would be a very good game for its scale if it got some more polish in the way how the controls work and how the game communicates its concepts.

Some feedback for the developer(s):

  1. To jump I drag my mouse pointer and that’s fine. What’s weird is that it seems like the game tracks not how I drag the pointer on the screen, but how it moves in the game world. Meaning that if i fall down my arrow starts pointing down and I have to cancel my attempt.

I really enjoyed the humor in this game some of it was really great. The music was really nice and relaxing and some of the picture frames were calming and romantical. I’m glad that there was a few differences in the second play through but I wish there was more there’s not a dynamic change in the story from choosing one thing from choosing another the main story stays the same even though you may get some more humorous responses depending on what you pick. Definitely worth at least one play through if you enjoy romantic visual novels and they do a good job at covering feelings/outlook that someone with mental health would experience.

I honestly loved playing this game, I randomly decided to play it on my twitch stream because it was a new visual novel and it looked pretty (visual wise and interesting plot wise). It really touches on the realism of just self identity in the ethnicity and culture aspect (for June) and the hardships and challenges dealing with mental health (for Miles). It was honestly very cute and wholesome, I thought we’d be able to make our own constellations by scratch but I honestly didn’t mind the premade ones because it was very creative. We get to somewhat see the perspectives and imagination of the two characters as themselves and as a couple which was very cute. I don’t wanna spoil to much but the author put in a lot of thought for their back stories and the characters, I totally rate the game ♡♡♡
