Pro Wrestling X

Pro Wrestling X

(Edit - Review has been edited on the 23rd of April 2016 to re-look at the current version (0.94) on that day and a new updated video for that version has been added at the end of my review).

If you believe in wrestling games out side of WWE or even more wrestling games in general then this project is worth buying and sitting on until it growths into it’s very small boots, that might take a while since currently we can do a match but not the most fun one ever but it is heading in the right direction.

SLAMMED!

SLAMMED!

Slammed! is an interactive story based in the world of professional wrestling. You don’t need to know or understand professional wrestling, although some terms are crucial to understand (ie, the concept of kayfabe) and a quick google search every now and then will help as you go along. At its core though, this is a story about your journey and the personalities that you interactive with - the wrestling is the backdrop for the most part.

The story’s pacing is excellent, and the blurring of the line between real and kayfabe (which is broadly the same concept as the “fourth wall” in acting) is really well done. The quality of the writing, purely from the point of view of the storytelling, is also excellent. For me, the best example of this is the section that features the “promotional video” for the grand finale, where the writing got me genuinely pumped up for the big climax.

This was pretty cool.

I know nothing about wrestling, yet this was entertaining and I wanted to see what would happen. I got so angry a couple times, not having a clue about how much of a show everything is so people screwed my char over - though things resolved well so I didn’t feel bad for too long.

I did spend half the time googling wrestling moves and frankly I had no clue even after seeing the moves on what stat they were focusing on. I focused on strength because it seemed the easier one to spot but I screwed up big time on a couple fights. So if you’re clueless about wrestling, it’s still an entertaining game, exciting even, but be prepared to feel like you’re tossing a coin for some of the choices.

Wrestling Revolution 2D

Wrestling Revolution 2D

Wrestling Revolution 2D is a classic OUYA Game and easily one of the finest mobile games of it’s time when the market was dominated with Angry/flappy birds or cuting the rope-likes. A spiritual successor to one of MDickie’s earlier titles Wrestling Mpire(2008/11). While a true Successor has recently been released & even a 3D Sequel to this game are both on steam, I prefer this one. However with Wrestling Empire (2021) continuing to get updates & once the Workshop gets up and running that may change. But WR2D is a 1/4th the price of the new one and well worth the 5 bucks too.

So, the first match, the first fuccking match I have right? I have no idea what I’m doing, and think “this match is an iron man match or something,” well it’s with the Undertaker (I modded the game so it would be more like an actual WWE/whatever the fuck company) and it’s me vs. the Miz. So this match goes on for a good solid hour and Kane, Mankind, and who knows who the fuck else gets involved in the match. I can’t stand, I’m getting my ass beaten into the concrete floor, took control of Kane, made him jump off the furniture and what happens? I break his fucking legs. You heard me right, his legs. I beat the Miz’s ass into the pavment as well as Kane did (and Paul Bearer the WWE’s version of the TFS version of Mr. Popo) I get… one. final. pin. On the Miz, and what happens after that? “Nobody wins this contest” my face is expressionless, and all the words from my vocal chords cower back into my skull saying “fuck that you ain’t got no words” leaving me speechless. Never has a game left me so fucking speechless to where I thought I had gotten a lobotomy. For a good five minutes, I was walking around my house wondering what the fuck just happened. And that is why I recommend this game, but not without a controller. Also, this is fucking randomized which makes it better, all the modes are great and I hope to sweet MDickie himself that he updates this game soon because it’s a G L O R I O U S masterpiece. Glitchy? Yes, but that adds character. Needless to say, this game is up there (for me, personally) with the likes of WWF No Mercy, and Wrestlemania 2000. That says a lot.

You ever wanted to hit someone with a steel chair and NOT be disqualified? Want to manage a card for a show only to be beaten in the ratings by Family Guy? WANT TO MAKE AN 8 FOOT TALL 16 YEAR OLD AND GET PAID THOUSANDS TO BEAT PEOPLE UP WITH CHAIRS? Then Welcome to Wrestling Revolution 3D.

Career mode has you choose and create a wrestler for whom you can have killed. Make backstage choices like getting drunk with your coworkers… even at the age of 16. Form a tag team and tell your partner that you don’t want to dress as them and so they dress as you. Create a tower of doom to injure, mame, and possibly murder your compitition. Don’t worry, the worse that can happen is that you injure yourself.

RetroMania Wrestling

RetroMania Wrestling

I’ve played 10 hours of RetroMania to really try out everything, and I’ll put it in a pros and cons list.

Pros:

  • Design. The design is great, the characters and stages all feel very different to each other. The game convention stage for example has so much happening in the background, a lot of details.

  • Simple instructions. For people new to this style of game, it might be hard at first but you should be able to pick it up with a little practice. The story mode also has an intro that helps you understand the game before getting into it.

Retrofest will surely pluck a string on early 90’s kids' hearts.

In one of this game forum’s discussions (which I usually avoid participating in due to their toxic and explosive nature) I read a developer comment stating that he made this game because this is the game he always wanted to play, and no one else ever made it.

I think this is an inspiring statement, not only because sometimes it feels games aren’t always born out of love anymore, but also because who among us gamers never dreamt about developing the game HE always wanted to play.

Tinieblas Jr’s Adventures

Tinieblas Jr’s Adventures

This game’s first crime is that it is a phone game ported to the pc

Its second crime is that even for a phone game, its shity and poorly made

3rd- I don’t think they hold ownership to any of the songs on the soundtrack, and the rest of the audio makes me feel like in the looney toons

For something released in 2020 it’s laughable at best, don’t waste your money

The game is so dark, you can’t see a thing. It’s ridiculous to make the thing so dark you can’t do simple things like jump on a platform. Not even worth the $1.07 I paid.

Love this. Easily one of the best wrestling creation softwares i have ever played. I only with there were more 3D options and moves. maybe even particle color choices for moves.

oh well. Maybe in future patches.

My review of the game also works here.

This game is awesome!! I love creating things.. I love creating things and watching them fight. This game allows me to do just that. The creation kit/wrestle factory is leaps and bounds above the rest. 2k what? Anyways, I’m addicted. Chikara Action Arcade Wrestling is Goodstuff!

MMA Team Manager

MMA Team Manager

If you like MMA and sports simulation, this game is a MUST have. It felt expensive but I took a gamble and I’ve already become hocked. The thing is, the UI isn’t as bad as people are saying and the game has significant depth and if worked on with future updates, it could become a serious classic video game for MMA fans.

The league system and variety of tactics involved are seriously entertaining with a great challenge in the first few seasons.

I wish there were more STATs on fighter’s records because as a sports simulation buff, that is what turns me on the most.

Really enjoying playing this title. I start out in lower leagues and try and work my way up. You get a monthly recruitment drive where every once in a while you find a stud that can really pay dividends if you were able to sign him to a long bargain contract. Finances are a challenge and I’ve been sacked a couple different saves from not paying enough attention to it.

One way to better your finances is to get fighters who can win. A fighters career wins adds to his crowd attraction stat, what caliber the fighter is also adds to it. Currently my home attendance average is 2388 with a ticket price of 20. My bargain find fighter who won league 7 fighter of the year last year is a huge contributor to attendance. He’s 21 years old has 50 wins and I have just extended his contract 5 years. He didnt want to extend last year but after we won the 7th league my manager status changed so I was able to. I like the way the game’s contracting is setup. You might be able to sign a bluechip from the market but if the caliber difference is heavily favored by the fighter, expect a overpaid fighter on your hands.

CARRUMBLE

CARRUMBLE

The idea is good, but the game doesn’t feel finished. What is it like if you ask me, I would say it is mix of Crash Bandicoot mode (that survival mode where you are riding a creature depending which character you chose and have to knock enemies off ice / area) + cars. After a few matches the game becomes stale, but I let my niece (6 years old) to play this game to collect diesel for me to unlock skins. Well, she liked it, and had fun. But there are many bugs like you can stuck airborne and can’t do anything (which is somehow is good as opponents can’t hit you), but after some time you die automatically and get respwaned. Another one is when you stuck inside of corner of the arena, in this situation you don’t get auto-respawned, and most likely win. Also, I activated a code for Betty Carnek skin, but neither I got it, nor found it in garage / store.

Real player with 248.4 hrs in game

Carrumble is a fun little game with a fantastic soundtrack! It doesn’t take too much time to play a single match, the perfect game if you have some spare time.

Collectors are able to acquire lots of Car skins by levelling up or spending real money. However, this does not effect the gameplay much in my opinion. Hey, this game is f2p!

As for right now, the developer team releases constant updates for the game- keep up the good work!

I will give this game thumbs up!
