Come with Me

Come with Me

Awesome game, speed run going up in about 7 days when I can make a category. Lots of fun, even though it’s a short game its worth checking out. There was a little glitch here and there but nothing game breaking. The concept of one player being taller, square and allowing the other player to jump on their head and carry them around, and the other being able to fit into smaller spaces and not be able to walk through water is amazing. It would allow for a lot of different puzzle ideas if it was a little longer I feel there was a lot of things you could do. Like maybe having the smaller player go through a tunnel and push a button to let the other player through or something like that. It could also allow for more world focused elements that slowly combine and get harder over time as the mix and combine. Of course all of this is assuming there will be another version, witch I hope for, but I understand how long it takes to code something like this.

Citrouille: Sweet Witches

Citrouille: Sweet Witches

It’s not Lode Runner, but it’s not bad.

Citrouille is a single-screen action game with a ladder-building mechanic inspired by Rod Land. Since there are no restrictions on when or where you can build ladders, you have a lot of freedom of movement. Combined with a relatively high game speed and random AI, it’s clear that Citrouille is less about strategy and more about reflexes and adaptation. This is not in itself bad, but for how unique the ladder mechanic is, it’s less deep than I had hoped.

“A classic arcade puzzle platformer game with adorable characters.”

Review

Citrouille. It’s made by Lumen Section and published by Plug In Digital. This publisher has often been a partner for good indie developers. Especially among them, Lumen Section is a hidden gem. This game has been designed so that the player can experience well the developer’s affection for the game. This game is full of cuteness and loveliness. Let’s have a look.

Gameplay Style. This game has a modern sense about classic games. Simple but challenging and addictive. In addition, It’s more shining with graphic artwork and animation effects. Each playable character has its own features. Playing with these cute witches is a really pleasant experience. Moreover, there are some game modes to enjoy. Especially with the latest update, a customizable mode has also been added. We need to actively welcome these new content updates. The developer’s passion makes the game more valuable.

I really love this game!

Bought it in sale for only 1 euro, but it’s totally worth the 10 euro’s.

It’s a cute and challenging platformer, which starts easy so you can learn the simple controls and basics, but gets (insanely) difficult pretty soon.

I especialy enjoy playing this with friends in co-op mode, which can be done with up to 8 people. There are multiple ways to play co-op, including racing against each other or shared death, but most of the time we’re just trying to help each other get to the end, preferrably with ‘the bottle’, that unlocks the hard mode version of that level. Those hard levels are really nightmare worthy and I’m very certain that I’ll never beat them in my own, if I’ll beat them at all. But the normal levels are fun and challenging enough. And there are a lot of them: 5 area’s with around 18 levels each (depends on the area). I’m now somewhere in the fourth area, a tropical enviroment, thanks to co-op mode, and after a lot of playing hours, and a lot of deaths, because - warning!- you die A LOT. If you don’t like that, don’t buy this game.

I am finally through.. At least on normal difficulty…

Let me give you some honest words on how it was.

This game begins with easy levels but gets very hard very soon.

Near the end its really just “die and retry” until you finally manage to make it through.

As a SINGLEPLAYER experience I can NOT really ENJOY nor recommend this game.

Its simply too hard - Levels are long and unforgiving, you’ll always have to start over from the beginning.

There are NO CHECKPOINTS what so ever. You wouldnt even be able to practise a jump because of the long way it takes to even get there.

Good couch party game, fun to play and to watch.

Graphics are good , gameplay is perfect with multiple gamepads (but you can use a keyboard for multiple players, in case).

Playable with 3+ friends

Kudos to the team for the price tag, recommended

Great party game! I bought it to spend the evening with some friends and we really had fun! The asymmetric concept is very interesting and original, and the Boss/Heroes are well balanced. The pixel art is simple, but beautiful. I recommend it.

TL;DR: Amazing platformer with great potential and capable devs, playing co-op recommended.

The game is available in the Indie Gala Friday Special Bundle 16 at the time of writing (for another 14 days) and I would strongly recommend buying it.

According to the FAQ in the game hub only two people are working on this game which makes the game so much more impressive. Graphics are great, the gameplay fun and the puzzles interesting and somewhat reminiscent of Portal 2, just, you know, without portals. If you’re an avid fan of the genre you will not have too much problems with most of the puzzles but still some are fairly challenging. If you have opportunity to play the game in co-op use it, it’s implemented well and a lot more fun than singleplayer.

Fun little puzzle platformer with great artwork! You’re commanding two robots with complementing abilities through some kind of futuristic facility. One robot can collect energy from the environment, the other can use that energy to blow stuff up. One can carry and stack boxes to help its heavier companion reach higher platforms.

The puzzles are all fairly straight-forward, and the required platforming skills are pretty moderate. Both won’t give a practiced player much of a challenge. Even the optional collectible orbs are usually so obvious that I didn’t miss a single one on my first play-through. I wish there would have been some more difficult levels. There are plenty of game elements that could have been used to design some fiendish puzzles.

Joggernauts

Joggernauts

In a nutshell: Joggernauts is FUN! Both entertaining and challenging, it is difficult yet rewarding, and always a good time. It has a magnetic quality that I will struggle to define… it draws new players in and soon they are enraptured, caught up in the simple joys and victories to be found within this game.

NB This game is best played with friends! And it is local co-op only. But it does feature a single-player mode that suffices quite well if you can’t wrangle your friends into picking up a controller.

This is a fun game to test your cooperative skills with teammates. Can get very challenging at times especially with 3-4 players.

When everyone is making their switches and jumps the game is very satisfying.

Note to developers: Not sure if the jumps and switches are timed to the music (sure feels like it), but if they are it would be very helpful to have a timing/bar indicator along the x-axis, to help assists the players. I know it would turn the game more into a rhythm game, but I think it would reduce the learning curve for new players.

Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine

Monaco: What’s Yours Is Mine

Imagine if old GTA games, Chip’s Challenge, and Oceans 11 all stumbled into a blender owned by a Lego man.

Boy what a mess that would be. Thankfully, Monaco is ‘not’ a mess, but rather, a stealth heist game in which you and up to three other thieves band together to plunder the money of a variety of facilities in and around Monte Carlo, everything ranging from Casinos to Hospitals to High Security Prisons, being represented.

The game’s two virtues are its deceptive level of gameplay depth, and its humorous design aesthetic. It’s the personality hidden behind the neon pixels that at first attracts one to this game–the perplexingly simple yet expressive character designs go along with the frantic piano ragtime and silly french NPC voices, to be extremely memorable. You’ll laugh as your little colorful lego thief pees in a toilet, wiggles their hands to hack a PC hollywood style, or hugs a wall and takes deep, ragged breaths after being shot–to the accompaniment of bloodied footprints left in their step. And as your little Mr. Pink dies from that one guard who peaks just inside your hiding place to bop you with a wrench, they explode into a neon pink colored skeleton, and the music thuds to an abrupt halt–only for the music to pick up again where it left off, once your fellow criminals put your guts back in (to the sound of hilarious squishing noises).

Real player with 2575.5 hrs in game

Probably one of the best co-op (local or online) games out there. The stealth mechanics manage to fit well with the generally arcadey feel, as the guards aren’t super perceptive, so they can be avoided if you’re careful (and sometimes if you aren’t!). Stealth playthroughs, especially in singleplayer, are satisfying and tense. However, Monaco is just as fun when you don’t try to be stealthy, as you can get into crazy and action-filled situations as you’re forced to escape oncoming guards after you trip an alarm or get caught. The AI can be punishing, though, and some enemies, such as shotgun toting Gendarme, are not to be taken lightly. Multiplayer tends to lean towards the more wild approach unless you’re working in a two-man crew or everyone is trying to stay on the down-low. You’re given the pick of (once you unlock all of them) eight thieves, each with their own unique abilities, all of which are useful. This is another reason why the game shines in multiplayer, because each thief can tackle different situations that others would have trouble with. There’s also a good number of equipments which provide the player with some tool that can get help them get the job done, like smoke bombs, shotguns, C4, and EMPs. Monaco has a ton of standard campaign levels with unique settings and good variety, and there’s also hundreds of user-made levels, some of which are almost as good as the standard ones. The level editor itself is fairly easy to use once you understand the basics, and there are a couple of really extensive guides on the community page which can help get you started. It’s also got a sweet noir style piano soundtrack by Austin Wintory, the guy who made the Journey soundtrack.
