Good lord, fastest recommend I can throw.

For a bit of context, I was something of a Touhou nerd back in the day, so I’ve had my fair share of bullet hell playthroughs.

I also find fighting games pretty neat, but could never really find one I liked enough to practice.

This is sort of a midway point, I think.

A bunch of smol cute gorls firing bullets at each other over a series of rounds defined by stocks. Get hit, lose a stock. Simple.

Lose all your stocks, you lose a spell charge (or in simple terms: you lose that round.)

Honestly an incredibly fun and accessible PVP shmup. The art style, pattern diversity, music, and backgrounds are all superb. There’s a great deal of complexity in multiplayer, but it’s so simple at its core that it won’t scare off people who are new to the game, or even to the genre.

Every character has its own completely unique play style and set of attacks. In the famous words of the New Super Mario Bros U IGN review, “It has a little something for everyone.” Some characters may seem OP or weak at first, but once you play them yourself to understand how they work and understand their strengths, things start to make more sense. If there is something the community legitimately does see as OP however, please understand this game literally just came out. There will probably be balance patches at some point. There are plenty of people to play with at the moment, but if you don’t see any lobbies up you can always join the Maiden and Spell and the Shmups Discord. You’ll be able to find someone on either of those discords to play with, including me. I’ll have a link to those below in the end of this review.

It’s a very good roguelike, and if you like side scrolling shooty roguelikes, you’re probably gonna like this. The visuals are gross and cool, and everything flows well. Controls are tight, it feels good to move around and they are responsive, and you’ll need to get good at them because this game is hard. Characters can vary wildly and you’ll have to make important stat choices because in this game it varies wildly, you can have negative stats. You can figure out what kind of builds the rng gives you and make a plan.

I don’t ever write reviews. In fact, this might be my first review ever on here. I’m only about 4.5 hours in since I picked it up yesterday, but WOW! Out of all the roguelites I’ve bought and played, this is hands down my favorite one since Dead Cells. There’s just something about it. It is so fun to play. The fluidity of the character movement in combat just feels so damn good. Unlike a lot of others I’ve played where it seems to be all about luck with upgrades on a run rather than skill, this meets a great balance of challenging without being too punishing or rage inducing. Simply playing and getting better is enough to help you get further. Thank you, Thomas, for such a fun game! Looking forward to many more hours of this and future updates and added content hopefully in the future.

Copy Kitty

Copy Kitty

Excellent game. The game features two modes to play the game, story and endless. In story mode you play through premade stages, each with unique terrain, where you have to destroy all the target enemies or a boss. Since there are different enemies each stage you always have different powers to copy and combine, which makes the stages even more varied and fun. At first it is not very difficult, but it can be challenging before you get used to the controls, however, after you beat normal mode you can play hard mode, which continues the story, has new enemies and new bosses, the terrain is based on the normal mode equivalent stage, but is often altered in some way. While the game can be difficult at times, these times are often the times when you can become the most powerful. Also, if you lose a boss battle multiple times you usually get tips on how to beat it from Savant, this also applies to some stages that the dev suspects the player might have trouble with.

Magic, robots, lasers, and aliens. Copy Kitty’s one of those games that, taken at face value, seems like chaos. But once you get into it, it still remains chaos; only you’re the one in control of it. The action is intense, and there’s plenty of variety to last for a long time. It’s been described to be somewhat similar to Mega Man, and while I haven’t played those games, I can see where they’re coming from. And even once you’re done burning through all the content Copy Kitty can throw at you, it still provides incentive to get better and perfect what you’ve already done once. There is ALWAYS room for you to improve in this game.

For me to find weird indie games on the lookout that people don’t know about. These are one of them that keep you engaged in the story and it doesn’t take it too seriously nor make you feel bored playing it.

The characters in game are bonkers in a good way yet still weird. The world-building is surprisingly thought out, most of the time if you’re try to listen carefully for what the other characters are saying. Because most of the time they be spouting out weird lines that don’t make sense while hearing but it does connect to the story’s plot. The main protagonist doesn’t feel like a good person or a bad person he just feels like an average dude trying to live this life in the fullest but he tends to be a jerk sometimes. So he just a good jerk in nature. Overall this game is really fun when’s you play the active shooter gameplay it feels satisfying avoiding, shooting away thoughts and trying to shoot the enemies by using your critique gun.

This game is amazing 100%, the story is amazing, the bosses are amazing, and overall amazing.

this game gives a challenge unlike most games now days.

When you first start playing, understanding the mechanics can be a challenge, but when you nail a boss learning from your mistakes its super satisfying.

When you are finished there is other things to do such as survival which is fun, and you can redo the bosses at a higher difficulty to get achievements.

The game was extremely funny to me, Dexter Manning’s comedy i love to bits! if you also want a good laugh this game is perfect!

I went into this game without knowing much about it and I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised. The gameplay feels responsive and even satisfying, the abilities are fun to use and being able to use the mouse to aim your sword makes it feel like you have even more control, next to the clean movement. The characters have nice personalities and the pixel art is also something that stands out to me, it is charming and nice to look at. It has a downwell kind of feeling mixed with undertale vibes while still retaining the originality of apple slash itself.

A jaunty but somewhat melancholic micro-epic set in a whimsical fenland under attack by a gummi menace. The action is all click-happy madness of a punchy and satisfying sort, and the rich chiptune soundtrack bounces along a theme of daring enterprise spinkled with a bit of heroic trepidation for good measure. You can complete it in under an hour, and yes, it’s worth the money!

At the end, the developer asks players if a more extensive game along these lines is worth pursuing. Agelvik, if you’re reading this: Yes! Please make a bigger, bolder adventure with the same engine, and if it’s an expansion of this story – which ends on a tantalizing note of new beginnings – so much the better! I like your fantasyland and excellent music and want more of both.

What is Zombie Estate 2?

If you don’t know, you are missing out!

Zombie Estate 2 is a Zombie Shoot-Em-Up that orginally came form the Xbox 360 (if you don’t know what that is, you are living under a rock or you came out of cryo-stasis) where you can choose over 70 weapons and upgrades for every one of them (Almost)! there is also a good amount of characters to choose from! Why is this game good though? Let me tell you (in pros and cons)!

Pros:

++ Unique weapons and many to choose from (also very fun to use)

Real player with 44.5 hrs in game

The (currently) one (actual) negative review for this game is compelete BS. (The two word review “is $h!t” does not count) This game is not the “same old same old” nor is it a “clone in a sea of clones.” The orignal Zombie estate was realeased for Xbox 360 in May of 2010 and was a absolute blast and a fairly popular indie game. Zombie Estate 2 was realsed for the Xbox 360 in April of 2013… APRIL OF 2013!! So don’t sit on your @$$ and tell me that this game doesn’t bring anything to the table when you know nothing about the game itself. Not to mention, the artwork is not “a bit rough,” it is exactly how it is supposed to be. It is the same style as the orginal that was released in 2010. The map is definately not “a bit glitchy.” There may be some odd things like walking through the center post on a double door but that is intended. I would not want to get stuck trying to fit through a door when running from a hoard of tanks. “The guns are as standard as it gets”….. Really? You can get a Mini Robot after two waves (one if you are lucky) and thats just the lower tier, not even above the 10 cheapest weapons. You can even get a pet zombie with a freaking MINIGUN.

Super Ledgehop: Double Laser

TL;DR: This game is an amazing experience, especially for $0.99. I highly recommend playing it again and again and again.

I discovered this game through YouTube videos of the soundtrack when I was trying to find inspiration for compositions. I thought the game was pretty neat, and decided to spend $0.99 on it. What really interested me was how “speedrunnable” the game seemed.

Let’s get into the core gameplay first. You run around in a top-down RPG-like environment while shooting enemies with bullets. Soon after starting, the game tells you that you can absorb enemy bullets to use as your own. This seems like a weird mechanic, but I can absolutely assure you that you will be needing this on more than one occassion. My first playthrough was extremely challenging to complete. I died countless times in boss fights, and even in the stages themselves. Note to self: Trying to speedrun the game on your first playthrough is a VERY bad idea.

Super Ledgehop was quite a fun experience.

The OST was great and I can’t wait to hear it again on more playthroughs. The fact that the beat of the OST ties into the gameplay was a really interesting concept to me, and I think it was pulled off well. The absorb and reflect feature was a welcome addition to the standard bullet hell concept. The gameplay really shines especially in the multiple boss fights throughout the game. You have to make use of the game’s mechanics to find out ways to take out your enemy efficiently and take the least amount of damage.

2000th review baby.

You didn’t think I’d get serious, did you? Well I am I got a whole review down here let’s go.

Its difficult to begin even processing what I wanna say about this little 50 minute demo. Where do I start? What do I say about a game I’ve put 50 hours into speedrunning, bug hunting, and in general just experiencing? I’ve put 5 times more time into this 50 minute little one man indie game than outer worlds, an RPG. Do I talk about the over 1k strong discord server which has been a home for a massive group of misfits who are all bonded together by a general kinship and respect for one another? Or do I talk about the developer who literally @’d me 6 hours ago to tell me that star fetchers was about to hit 2k reviews.

“My name is An-C. I’m a generation one high-frequency trading android, first of its kind with a computational power of twelve million computations-per-second, with the intent of socialising the digital aspects of modern economics. In the wake of my creation, a shift of power could be felt throughout the nation; countless jobs within the economical ecosystem tilted into obscurity because of me. Countless protests against my installation was held, but was ultimately fruitless.

On the morning of the first of September three years ago, I was installed in the main building of Goldman Central Bank. They put me on an almost empty floor with only twelve other people working there, with most of them having jobs to accommodating my different needs. From that point onward, the world just looked on in awe and horror as I dominated the economy. The Economical Elite was at this point obliterated from the one percent down to the micro-percent, basically creating a new super-class for the wealthiest.

Fight of Animals

Fight of Animals

Fight of Animals is a fast-paced 2D fighting game, where all the characters have 20f overheads that convert into shittons of damage, where getting anti-aired means you’ll eat shittons of damage, and getting low poked from a confirmable range leads to shittons of damage. That’s why the game has a burst mechanic tied to a meter.

Most specials are dash cancellable on hit, which leads to a lot of cool interactions. Offense is strong as shit but so is defense because most overheads are punishable by shittons of damage when you block them.

Real player with 100.7 hrs in game

Fight of Animals is a fun, lighthearted fighter, with a nice rock/paper/scissors take on the genre. 6 characters, 3 stages, arcade mode, training mode and an online pvp mode. The character designs are nicely done and have a unique “cell shaded” look to them. The combos are fun to pull off and at a closer look, this isnt just a simple fighter. The game’s mechanics lets the player customize their playstyle so eveyone isnt doing the same cookie cutter combos. I really enjoy the soundtrack and it give the game a personality like no other. Any fan of fighters will love this game
