The 18th Floor

The 18th Floor

I really enjoyed the game so far. The puzzles are challenging and I really like the style. But I’m a little disappointed with the lack of transparency from the creators. The last news we have been given is that more puzzles will be released in Q4 of last year. We are now on the brink of Q2 this year and still nothing. I just today found out that PSVR was updated but not steam (which bummed me out). So I would love to know what the deal is and if we can expect the DLC for Steam players soon too. Please AOGA Tech give us an update! I see that there are new achievements so I hope that means it won’t be too long. AOGA, I humbly ask that you keep the people who invested in your game updated in regards to progress. When I bought the game I thought I would be seeing more than 2 floors by the end of the year. Please let us know what to expect AOGA! I’m sure I’m not the only one who would appreciate it!

personally, I really liked the game but to be honest, I thought that the puzzles were a little overboard. There are things going on in the puzzle that I swear only people who created it would be able to figure out. I was starting to wonder if some of the people trying to help out were people who actually made the puzzle themselves and realized that it would take many days for the common player to figure out. The one thing that I really messed up is the fact that some of the puzzles are hard enough to figure out that it will take some people more then just a few minutes and yet, if you dont finish it, you cant save it and have to start all over. There does need to be a save feature so we dont have to keep playing the same scene over and over again. A save feature may also help out with the common problem of dropping something and having the item disappear into the floor so that you cant use it and then have to start the game over just to get it back. I do recommend the game though. I thought the graphics were great and I was fully into the game. I do look forward to the next installment

I’ll try to be as concise as possible, but I’m a long winded individual so…here goes!

First of all, I absolutely love this game. The art style, animation, gameplay, replay, and humor is just amazing. This is probably my favorite game this year and I think the first game I’ve gotten all the achievements on in a long time. It’s got it’s fair share of flaws, but nothing that completely breaks the enjoyment of the game.

Pros:

Graphically, the game is beautiful. Big fan of pixel art, the animation is key in pixel art. With very few pixels to represent a character or world, the only thing that separates the generic pixel art and a living world is animation and this game has it.

I played the demo and that was pretty fun, it kinda sold me on wanting to get the full version ASAP…even though I was already pretty set on wanting to get it since it’s initial announcements because of its various innovations with the elemental mechanics.

As much as I enjoyed the demo though, it was a fairly condensed experience designed to give you a small taste of each of the elements that you get to work with throughout the game and only lasts a couple of hours. At the time of me writing this review, with the full version of the game (which I found heavily discounted ~ what a lovely surprise that was) I’m at just under 40 hours and about to start level 21 (Mountains 6). I’m not sure how many levels there are overall (I could look it up I’m not one to spoil these types of details for myself lol), but when looking at the game map I’m in the upper right section…about to leave the mountains, so I still have quite a bit to go it seems, which is awesome.

Funny story with a cool concept for a game that matches the theme of the year 2020 really well. Levels are a little long especially if you fail them. Ran into zero glitches and the game runs really smooth and well. All money goes to charity. Takes a good 30 minutes to finish the game.

TLDR:

Siimi is a cute minimalistic puzzle game about Siimi who goes out on an adventure to discover her true ‘me’.

What I really liked about the game is that under the cute graphics, there is quite a deep and relatable story. I would recommend the game, but only if you like the art style or the story. The gameplay itself is a bit too shallow for most people I think.

All things considered I think the developers did a really good job, and they should be really proud of themselves for creating a unique game which clearly shows their passion and wish to improve the world.

SIIMI is a very short point and click puzzle game, you definitely can finish it in less than an hour, even though the story is quite short and the puzzle is truly simple, I still enjoyed this game because it has a beautiful art, nice soundtrack and the most important is the story is really meaningful even the title itself has a lot of meaning. I like SIIMI and I learned something from this game, Good Job GOINDOL! Thank you for developing such great game.
