You Are A Bird
9/10 Early Access Review (14 minutes at time of writing)
Even with the current build lacking much in real ‘gameplay’ I would still recommend this for anyone who has looked into finding a good bird flight simulator. Its (relatively) low poly world make it a fast running game, even on my lower end gaming laptop. (which isn’t really meant for VR). But even if you are playing on a higher end computer and are all about that Detail don’t let the low poly-count dissuade you from getting this, as the vibrant colours make it a whole experience on its own.

This is of course, at this point, a promise of what will come. The game as it now stands allows you to absolutely destroy your shoulders in under 20 minutes, almost fall over irl several times, feel dizzy, etc. Can’t wait to see what this game will bring as it continues to develop.
One little thing I wish this had was being able to dive bomb and that dropping your arms didn’t make you do backflips as you gently fall. One quick suggestion about the flying mechanics, being able to flap “forward” to slow your speed without rotating your body up or down. As it is, I feel like the index could use a little love, when I fly, it feels like I have to overrotate my arms forward in order to stay level.

Undergrowth: VR Maze

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this game. It’s just subpar in almost every aspect. Your normal walking speed is too slow. Performance is pretty bad. The 3D scans are mediocre at best. The ambient sounds are generic. The narration has a poor sound mix. The text signs are low quality. The mini-activities are bad.
What is supposed to be an enjoyable walk with positive vibes while you walk around a green maze surrounded by nature and having museum pieces scattered around, along with some activities, just becomes a generic, poorly optimized experience that is forgettable. You’re more likely to be upset than have good vibes.

This is nice and easy. You just sit back and relax. The positive messages helped me (had a rough day), and the laying down under a tree and closing my eyes is nice, especially with the sun.
The statues are nice, and the environment is relaxing. The map is small, but a lot of detail in it. I was able to play this on high settings with a 5700xt.
There are very minor bugs, but it doesn’t affect gameplay; just make sure your resolution isn’t at 3k per eye. I had that issue(my fault).
This isn’t a run and gun game. It’s a relax and don’t think about anything game.

Aquarist - My First Job
Fun idea for a simulator game. Controls are ok but randomly the WASD keys get reordered (turned 90°) and character seems sometimes not to be able to walk in certain places although there is nothing in the way. Store selection is pretty limited (understandably) and some elements like bigger stone or wood pieces can only be put to fresh water tanks, and not salt water tanks (will they dissolve in salt or what?). Oh and the characters are unreal.. there is no way that dad character pulled off a hottie like the mom character xD

I have owned a real aquarium for many years until I decided to empty it (and put land plants inside) because it took so much time and wasn’t as satisfying anymore (it is hard to have it look nice like in a shop). I realized I miss watching the fish, so I thought I could get a virtual one.
The game really gives a rather good experience, like you have to check the temperature of the water for the fish and plants add a filter and you can decorate it nicely and so forth. I have played the boy tank story and the decorative tutorial. I also like the graphics. What I most hate about the game (and would probably be a reason of not playing it anymore) is the controls and the constantly moving camera. It is nice that you try to be most realistic with walking around the room to get things and such put it is more annoying than useful. The stuff that you no longer want to hold will just lay around on the floor as I coulndt figure out a proper way of putting them down nicely and then you see more of the room and are more busy trying to navigate so you can pick up things then actually enjoying to look at your aquarium. It also kinda gave me a headache…

Forester Simulator
Take care of a forest, chill out in nature, and protect it from people that just don’t care! You play as a forester whose job is usually quiet and peaceful but sometimes could be a real thrill. Cut trees using big machines or chase wood thieves on quads. Be kind to animals, feed them, and make friends with them. See for yourself what the forest hides.
Unique game mechanics
Thanks to the Forester being a simulator game, it introduces some nice and fun mechanics.
Feeding animals is one of the best activities out there! It is a part of your job as a forester but really, it’s just a pleasure. Do it with love and you’ll certainly be rewarded with their gratefullness.
We all love it - taking care of plants. The most important thing is to plant new trees and making sure that they are safe. Plant new trees, count bugs populations and do everything else the forest needs.
And there are more activities to take:
-
cutting a tree (also using a big machines),
-
chasing bandits on quads,
-
forester quests: plant trees, check out the growing, count bugs population, etc.,
-
removing traps,
-
reporting thieves and vandals,
-
decorating your own cabin,
-
… and more.
Gameplay
Forester is a first person simulator game. You spend most of the time in nature doing quests given by the mother Earth herself. These are: planting new trees, feeding animals, checking if everything is ok with the ever-growing forest. Beyond that, you are also responsible for reporting crimes, chasing bandits, and taking care of other things that may interrupt a peaceful life in a beautifully green environment.
How does it feel?
Can you imagine being in the woods right now? Birds singing, a forest cover smells so unique when the sun is rising. The moss all around you is sparkling thanks to small water drops still being there… this is what the game captures. Being a forester is what we all desire from time to time and somehow we almost feel like we miss it. This longing will be hopefully fulfilled by playing the Forester game.
Make yourself cosy
Arrange your own peaceful wooden house! Wandering through the forest endlessly is great but there is no place like home. You can decorate it as you want using all kinds of rare stuff found in the woods. Of course, not everything you need is delivered by nature so you can always use a shop to make the interior feels like home. Build new fence, decorate your house, and make the forester’s life even better!
Quests and Free Mode
The game offers a singleplayer campaign full of quests. The completion of all tasks requires time, love to the forest, and some bravery. Prepare for moments of chill but be also ready for some action!
For those that would like to just set their own pace there is also the Free Mode. It’s nice to simply take care of the forest and deal with random encounters from time to time. If you love nature and you want to relax in the woods - this is definitely a game mode for you!
Territory - animals genetic strategy
Territory is an isometric 2D real-time single player strategy about genes and animal species. Animals are behaving the way they would in nature, but you can indirectly control them and mutate them to achieve various goals like dominance in the ecosystem.
Core Gameplay Mechanics - Challenge Mode
-
you are entering the game with one species and mutate it to different species later on
-
you are playing on the map with existing ecosystem that is producing various sources of food
-
you are changing species genome and that is changing its attributes and behaviour
-
map is populated with various species (~10 depending on map size), species can die out, species can mutate to new species in time
-
each species has its own territory, its size and shape can be adjusted
-
species can be herbivores, omnivores or carnivores and can have one of five different sizes
-
species lives complete live from being born to death, need food to survive
-
individual animal can die in fight, starve to death, can be killed by predator, die by disease or die by old age
-
species are hostile only when they share the same source of food and has similar size
-
you can migrate your species to new territories
-
you can invade enemy species on its territory
-
you can defend your territory from enemy species
-
you are evaluating your surroundings and complete ecosystem to determine your next steps
-
species are reacting indirectly on player’s command if certain conditions are met (migrate to new territory only when not being hungry, having certain genes, etc.)
Core Gameplay Mechanics - Sandbox Mode
-
you are playing on the map without any species
-
you can create unlimited number of species
-
your goal is to achieve the largest biomass and/or diversity

Horse Riding Deluxe 2
So far I really love this game, the graphics are pretty, I like that it’s open world and even if I haven’t gotten around to explore everything yet (still a bunch of HRD coins, dogs and wild horses missing) I already had a great time riding around! I love that you need to use the signs and the map to find your way around and to the villages.
What I also really like is that you can go swimming with your horse, I don’t think I ever played a horse game where you could do that before!
The races are challenging enough but not so challenging that you can’t win gold and they have somewhat varying degrees of difficulty which I like.

Another very interesting, enjoyable horse game!
I played the first Horse Riding Deluxe and really enjoyed it, so I was quite excited to see a second game and I wasn’t disappointed!
There are a lot of similarities between the first and second game, so I won’t go into as much detail in my review for this one as I did the first.
I’ve been looking for reasonable horse games for a long time and I’ve tried many of them. This game is one of the closest ones I’ve found to what I’ve been looking for.
