Endless ATC

Endless ATC

This is an amazing little game.

The game starts out very simply, with just a few planes to control. As you guide them successfully to their destinations, the number of planes in your space increases, and so does your mental load.

A simple and effective interface lets you put your air traffic plan into action almost as quickly as you can think it (via any combination of keyboard, mouse, and touch).

Before long, you must be completely focused on managing the traffic to keep everything running smoothly and your score increasing.

I’m not easily impressed, but this is really good.

It has all the complexities of the real thing:

  • Standard Instrument Departures

  • Standard Terminal Arrivals

  • Parallel approaches

  • Airspace restrictions

  • Minimum Safe Altitudes

  • Separation criteria

  • Wake turbulence separation

  • Emergencies

And it’s all packed into a UI that is so easy to learn and simple to use, it actually makes the complex task of controlling air traffic look like child’s play.

Designers of RL ATC software, move over! Look at this title and explain to me why “the real thing” always looks so damn complicated, because this simulation here proves what an intuitive UI can look like.

This title is amazing and really shows what VR is capable of: You feel like a space engineer alone in the vastness of space - trying not to die.

I recommend you play the game on simulation mode while in a seated position (helps immersion and feeling of weighlessness) and complete the brief tutorial. The first two modes are way too easy and don’t give you the feeling of immersion.

You have on your suit:

Directional thrusters (up, down, left, right)

Maneuvering thrusters on your suit (Roll, pitch, yaw)

I have played this game for a couple of hours now, which, in a game advertised as having a single player experience of about 2.5 hours isn’t bad, I guess. I’m not sure where the idea of 2.5 hours came from. I don’t think that I’m very near the end and I’ve played for more than that in total. You would have to be seriously good to get this game done in 2.5 hours. Admittedly I ended up saving the game with very little oxygen left and ended up having to start the first level from the beginning, but that’s a definite possibility for anyone.

I’ve only played in VR with a HOTAS. Beyond the fact that it’s wildly overpriced, this game needs a serious overhaul by someone who understands UX.

The menus are amateurish and bewildering, particularly in the campaign mode. There’s no way to recenter your view. It seems to be impossible to start a campaign game in VR, because you have to type in a name for your squadron, and it won’t accept keyboard input as typing. When I hit the F key I get some performance numbers. I had to restart in desktop mode, create the campaign, and then restart again in VR mode to play it.

this game does not fell finished to me. at this time in VR you have hand tracking but can not interact with anything just ghost hands. that sucks would have loved to fly the planes with my VR hands. but im so far happy with what i got. the joysticks on the VR controls work. game brings me back to playing red baron long long ago. for that feeling i like the game. and for that i will give it a thumbs up. if you go into this expecting a full VR exp you will be a little upset. but the controls work the game plays and is fun. maybe wait for a sale if you are unsure.

9/10 Early Access Review (14 minutes at time of writing)

Even with the current build lacking much in real ‘gameplay’ I would still recommend this for anyone who has looked into finding a good bird flight simulator. Its (relatively) low poly world make it a fast running game, even on my lower end gaming laptop. (which isn’t really meant for VR). But even if you are playing on a higher end computer and are all about that Detail don’t let the low poly-count dissuade you from getting this, as the vibrant colours make it a whole experience on its own.

This is of course, at this point, a promise of what will come. The game as it now stands allows you to absolutely destroy your shoulders in under 20 minutes, almost fall over irl several times, feel dizzy, etc. Can’t wait to see what this game will bring as it continues to develop.

One little thing I wish this had was being able to dive bomb and that dropping your arms didn’t make you do backflips as you gently fall. One quick suggestion about the flying mechanics, being able to flap “forward” to slow your speed without rotating your body up or down. As it is, I feel like the index could use a little love, when I fly, it feels like I have to overrotate my arms forward in order to stay level.

Beautiful game placed in space, originally created for VR and now available in nonVR version. It’s FPX game where we want to survive and find a way to get back home safely from malfunctioned space station. This will require a skill to control your spacesuit powered with fuel. We also need a oxygen and both of these can by found around by exploring an open world of the damaged space station. Some puzzle needs to be solved in the game to complete some of the tasks like opening the doors or activate various systems. Great looking and well optimized graphics and nice sounds well making a feeling of loneliness in empty space. Game has cross-platform PvP mode. Detached is a fantastic game that I’m hoping to play in VR mode some day.

I would love to recommend this game, it’s quite a nice, short FPS story. Flying around in an authentic zero-g experience on Realistic mode was amazing, it’s the kind of game I like most. There’s not much shooting, just floating through space finding the path out, with enough light puzzles to not be boring.

Unfortunately, finding the small progression MacGuffins in level 2 was awful. They were hidden away and difficult to find when trying to progress the story. It took me a few hours flying around looking for them. I found a few, but they were placed near another progression point later down the line, so taking them earlier than I’m supposed to means I have to look for others in the more difficult places anyway.

VR Museum

VR Museum

A tremendous power lies in VR. Anything you imagine, anywhere you dream, any time you envision - it can get you there.

Have you ever wondered what the Handley-Page 42 looked like in real life? Or what size was a Messerschmitt Me-323 Gigant? Or Nina, Pinta and Santa Maria? All of them are long since gone, but with the incredible power of virtual reality they can be brought back to life. And this is what the VR Museum was created for.

There are many great inventions that are only known from drawings and blurry photos. And many of them are already 3D-modelled and scattered around the net. The idea behind the VR Museum is to locate them, refurb if necessery, and show here for everyone to see. Starting from airplanes, the Museum’s collection will grow to become more interdisciplinary in the future.

AI Drone Simulator

AI Drone Simulator

It has what it promised. I brought this to practice for real fpv. It does feel natural once you calibrate to your own quad (and this is a BIG thing). It has a very detailed and precise adjustements for the quad dimensions, weight… The presets are fun to discover possible new real drones to buy. The moving objects are quite fun to practice chasing around.

The only thing I might say it needs a bit more work is the map editor. But is okay once you get used to it and the good thing is that has the option to edit rather than not have it.

VR Military Reporter in Middle East (with tanks & helicopters)

VR Military Reporter in Middle East (with tanks & helicopters)

Let me promise you that the title of this experience ‘VR Military Reporter in Middle East (with tanks & helicopters)’ bears no resemblance as to what this experience is all about. In short, it is a small collection of non-Middle East areas that you explore with a drone or helicopter. There is no reporting, no action, almost nothing to interact with other than exploring the area while some annoying music plays in the background. I paid just £2.39 for this in a sale and I was bitterly disappointed, but if I had paid the full asking price of £3.99 I would be asking for a refund. Other than exploring some small areas there is no point in downloading this at all and it really should have been free.
