The Indigo Parallel

The Indigo Parallel

Gameplay will vary depending on the direction the player chooses to explore and the choices they make along the way. The Indigo Parallel incorporates numerous pathways leading to environmental puzzles to solve, the use of vehicles to progress, and communication terminals to interact with.

The goal of the Indigo Parallel is to create a game that allows the player to discover new and hidden pathways during each playthrough. Choices made throughout the game unlock new areas and alter existing levels.

Each element of this game, from the hieroglyphics to game play, the textures to the models, has been created through years of passion by a solo developer.

The Indigo Parallel is a unique experience. Its rich non-linear environment showcases a dark future with plenty of secrets.

Be prepared, this game is weird.

Key features:

  • Non-linear gameplay with branching pathways, filled with hidden features.

  • Levels that are altered by choices made, making each playthrough different.

  • Beautiful and immersive environmental storytelling.

  • Stunning soundtrack featuring music by J Ryan Halpenny and Decima1.

The Occupation

The Occupation

This game can be a really great experience and I highly recommend it, with just one big caveat.

You basically get the snoop around as a detective in some very well-crafted environments with lots of details, where it’s actually quite a challenge to figure out what’s going on and find what you are looking for, adding to the fact that you have limited time really works well to give you the sense of realism that is lacking in so many stealth games - and this is where the game excels. It’s also quite an interesting storyline with some interesting characters and interactions.

I wish I could give this game a positive review, but… I can’t. Other reviews go into a fair amount of depth about the technical issues, so I won’t discuss them here – I, personally, only ran into a single bug (other actors walking through gates that wipe floppy disks causing a floppy disk in my inventory to wipe, which the developers have plans to fix), but that’s not my issue with this game.

The reason for my negative review is that this game tries very hard to tell a story, but the gameplay mechanics undermine the story at every turn. You play the role of an investigative reporter who, for unknown reasons, has decided (been assigned?) to investigate a bombing (kinda?) at a local, high profile, technology firm. For some reason, you start with no knowledge at all of what this firm does – initial impressions are that they are a PR firm advocating for the passage of “The Union Act”, but later revelations reveal that this is incorrect (I think?). One would think that this sort of background information would be easily accessible (perhaps in the handy briefcase), but…

The tram of wishes

Just a really calming game to play before bed. My nightly routine for the past week has been to take a melatonin, drink some bedtime tea and play this game for 20-30 minutes. Bonus if you have the night time dimmer setting on your pc. Really helps me get to sleep.

First time playing, I did not understand that there were tasks I could solve, I was just stopping at every stop. Then I read the comments and started getting the gist of this. Simplistic gameplay and art style and the latter is in cute watercolor. Ending music score is nice. The message is pretty nice. Story and riddles could have been a little deeper.

AGOS - A Game Of Space

AGOS - A Game Of Space

I have played the first four or five missions so far. My takeaway is the following: This game is everything I wanted it to be (on the stretch I have played). I am happy I bought it.

Controls/ UI:

This game is a sitting experience, preferably not in front of a desk. I play with an Index and it works perfectly out of the box. I did not have to make any adjustments. Flying the probe is pretty intuitive after a little practice (took me two missions). You manage thrust/ movement using a globe on the left and the orientation of the probe using a globe on the right by grabbing and dragging them. Probe orientation becomes important in the second mission for light and after that for your main engine. After that point it starts to feel even more like actual spaceflight, for example you actually have to perform flip and burn maneuvers to get to stop again. To sum it up, actually flying this probe is really fun. Navigating your world ship is also fun. You can actually perform swing by maneuvers around planets, although I don’t know if that is actually helpful. Either way, powering your ship up to for interplanetary travel is REALLY satisfying.

I cannot recommend this game enough. But it really needs to be the kind of game you’re looking for. I’ll also start by saying the first few missions are really slow because it wants to make sure you can use the controls well before it throws you into a “QUICK GET THIS THING BEFORE ASTEROIDS DESTROY US ALL!” mission.

It’s core loop is to fly around small sections of space, picking up material, harvesting/drilling for materials, finding old logs for new tech for your mothership, usually in a certain time frame because some bad space thing is going to destroy your mothership.

I found the Monolith at last after looking for it for an hour.

However, I couldn’t find the Cube, so it must be impossible to find.

TUNGUSKA: A Call in the Woods

TUNGUSKA: A Call in the Woods

A distress call over the radio shakes you from your thoughts. A man has gone missing in the woods and someone or something terrible is after him. You better get going…

TUNGUSKA: A Call in the Woods is a unique mix of interactive storytelling, survival and orienteering. Make your way through dense Siberian woods in search of a missing person. But be careful - if you get lost, there will be no help. You may be the only living human being for hundreds of miles of taiga after all.

Key features

  • Path-finding with a paper map & compass is a core gameplay aspect. Be aware of your surroundings at all times, put notes on the map, look for landmarks, learn to take bearings - and you will not get lost. Probably.

  • Rewarding exploration. The more you wander off-trail, the more chances you get to piece together what is happening here.

  • Dangers of the woods. This forest has something far more deadly than bears or a swarm of ticks. Watch your step.

  • Gorgeous visuals. Forests and swamps, fields and rivers - all with fully dynamic lighting and hi-res textures made with Unreal Engine and Megascans.

EDIT: Bottom of this reivew for some updates

This is such a beautiful game already!

A beautiful homage to cats (the developers used their real kitty sounds, and pictures) and their perspective of the world.

It makes you feel tiny and defenseless, but at the same time smart and cunning.

There already are some incredible elements to be taken into account, first and foremost, the atmospheric poignancy. With the 3D audio enabled, it really feels like being immersed in a rainy forest!

The story is extremely promising, and all the little details and collectibles scattered throughout the map make exploration meaningful…

I recommend this game strictly on the idea of being able to play as a cat, this game needs work!!!!!!

The idea of playing as a cat and having an adventure is probably a dream for 90% of gamer’s out there…..I completely understand everyone’s frustration when it came to playing this game. Here were some of the issues I ran into:

Controlling the cat is just odd, it doesn’t feel like true 360 to turn around. I know I see him in 3rd but I feel like i’m still turning in 1st person….if that makes sense?
