Idle Monster Frontier

Idle Monster Frontier

I find this to actually be a very good Single Player Monster Collector game.

You push your team of monsters through a series of waves of enemies, collecting gold and other monsters to build your team. The basic gameplay loop is a monster collector, where a gold resource and other monsters you don’t want/need are consumed to make your main monsters more powerful.

It has a traits system where monsters can learn abilities from others allowing for customization.

The game is free, obviously with some very pay to win stuff available in the store. However there is practically nothing you cannot get in this game by playing it normally for free. The daily gems (premium currency) quests will give you a slow stream of currency to buy the things you need. Some players have complained that the best monsters in game are purchasable in the shop for 750 gems (which is a LOT) however they don’t really take into account that fact that this is a bad purchase type. The monster could have a low speed rating, and due to how levelling up a monster works, you do not need only 1 of a top tier monster, you will ultimately need many, many copies.

READ THIS!!

Lets start by saying this game will not play itself 100% of the time, SO WHAT!!.

This game has TONS of unique things not seen or tried on any of the multiple and plenty of Idles ive played before!

This game encourages creativity and imagination to build not the optimal but the team you dream of, The core is the only defining part while you are able to freely create a creature however you dream it for you specific team. They add new units, events, and they are (DEV) Looking out for the game, Dont let this few people that play the game for minutes or even low hours fool you. THIS IS A GREAT GAME.

Mercenary Skirmish

Mercenary Skirmish

For a game created by one person and being a early access release, the game is pretty good. Sure it takes sometime to understand how to play or what skills to pick, but doesn’t every new game? One of the best parts so far is the game does not restrict your own play style. So if you want to play a Hybrid build you can do that, I am excited to see what builds people will come up with. I myself so far enjoy experimenting with with the class building system.

Mercenary Skirmish Review

Thank you very much for releasing this for us to play for free on Steam!

This game was a bubble of confusion when I first decided to click the download button, it gives no clear indication of what to expect, what to do or even how to start playing. I was certainly having mixed feelings about whether I wanted to continue to see what this was about. Over the course of a few hours, I have to say for a small indie title, I was quite happy with it.

Mercenary Skirmish features two game-modes currently which can be played with your friends or if by chance you don’t have any, the timesplitters-esque NPC bots will be happy to join you in combat. TvT is a single map in which I have to say I still don’t quite know what I was supposed to do in which two teams of warriors, mages, archers and supports fight it out in a small battleground with two portals at either end. Chests are scattered amongst the ruins which contain various upgrades for your character and its essential you get to them first to be the winner.

VirtuaCreature

This game is a huge improvement over the legacy version; with online play, revamped simple battle arenas, interchangable moves, being able to raise more than one virtuacreature, and the various QoL changes made, there’s so much more replay value to the point that I made my own builds.

As a game in itself, I really enjoyed the tamagotchi + pokemon aspect where it was easy to digest yet complex enough for me to be invested in. There’s so much freedom to raising your virtuacreature to the point that most of my gameplay time was just me borderline experimenting… not to mention, the simple battle arenas, coupled with the designs of each virtuacreature (Bearcub’s s-tier btw) made it easy to learn the mechanics of affinities, while being subtle so that it isn’t too hand-holding.

It’s like a mix of first gen Pokemon and Digimon. Taking care of the little monsters is like taking care of a Digimon keychain pet, and the battle system is a turn based system very similar to the first generation of Pokemon games. The creatures evolve into different things based on how you take care of them and feed them. You can even battle them online. It’s very nostalgic. I like it. Give it a try, you might like it too.
