EDIT 2: Okay so just a heads up. The Dev (LavaFlame2) is extremely extremely fragile and if you leave a bad review and finds out who you are he will ban you on everything he possibly can and all your friends. After i spoke to him on discord he then blocked me. Banned me from the discord and sub Reddit and then banned all of my guild members. He took this review very personally and now attacked me and my friends because i gave my honest thoughts about the game and how i feel about it in its current state. Dev has been late with every single update he has ever released is usually on holiday not actually working on developing the game unfortunately. Make sure not to spend money on the game as odds are he will be giving up developing this game very soon (just like his last games he has done the exact same thing with).

First, let me start off by saying that I am having fun in the game. I am. However, the game has a lot of issues which means people who traditionally enjoy Idle Games… probably aren’t going to have much fun.
An Idle game, traditionally, relies on a specific gameplay loop. If it gets this loop correct, players become hooked. Not a lot of idle games get this gameplay loop correct.
What is that loop?
1. Lots of easy levels in the early game.
2. Each new system introduced is a new avenue for gaining power and clearing gameplay.

Darkzone: Idle RPG
I have been playing for a long time during the alpha (before a massive overhaul of the combat happened) and when a Steam version (that also got like a 6 months alpha) happened.
When I found this game for the first time, the game was a bit clunky and the UI somewhat weird. The game was way way more simpler, we didn’t have conquest, the story was played ALWAYS as co-op (you used a second player as a bot, anyone in the range of your level), and we had a tap system to do damage, that nobody used.
Devs, in discord, listened to feedback, and with every update, some of the clunkyness was removed, some suggestions were added, things got changed, and we eventually got a massive rehauling of the combat and progression system, with levels, attribute builds, skills, and new different stats (evasion, accuracy, damage reductions… those stats didn’t exist at all before).

It’s a (mostly) auto-battler with some rpg / strategic elements that is a port from a mobile app. My sole experiences with the game have been through Steam, so this review is not based on the mobile experience. Overall, I recommend the game to players who enjoy incremental / auto-battler style games that incorporate some strategic elements.
Pros:
It’s visually appealing
The devs are exceptionally active on Discord and respond promptly to player issues. They remain positive in their player interactions regardless of ratings. When I raised an issue with my account, it was addressed quickly.

Gameplay / Story
Anyone who can do something with both co-op games and zombies is in good hands in Corogna online mode: With three other players we go into battle against the living dead and try to assert ourselves round by round against more and more opponents, successively Get stronger. The crisp level of difficulty ensures that we don’t get very far in the first few laps before we are overrun by the undead. Because on the one hand you shouldn’t stand in the way of your team, but on the other hand you shouldn’t keep your distance so that you can get back on your feet in an emergency. The steep learning curve is also accompanied by the motivation to do better next time - we quickly get a real desire to find out the best tricks, weapons and tricks to defend ourselves against the undead attackers in the long term.

Screeps: World
I have played lots games over the years. have forgotten 95% of them, 4.9% of them i remember due to them being an excellent game and myself enjoying, Paradox games I love but don’t rate as in the top .1%. Only a very rare game has me remembering epic or defining moments that really set that game apart for me. EvE online is one, for creating a sandbox of such freedom, politics, warfare, resource gathering, trade, which all helps to create proper player driven stories.
The other is Screeps….which has given me my most proud moments in any game i have played. The games are of course markedly different but also surprisingly similar. Screeps like EvE has trade, crafting, factories, land ownership, politics/alliances, resource gathering, warfare, but ants instead of ships and where in EvE when u get killed you take a big loss, in Screeps it can mean game over, time to respawn from scratch……again.

Screeps is a game for programmers.
But it is possible for someone without any previous programming experience to learn it with enough dedication, though I recommend at least learning some basics of programming/JavaScript from somewhere like codecademy first. And try the free tutorial before you buy the game (I am still running code that started out based on the tutorial code, 2 months later).
The game has deceptively simple visuals, but a lot of increasingly complex systems that you gain access to as you progress within the game, providing interesting challenges for your programming ability. How complex it ends up getting depends in part on how much of it you end up wanting to automate. Pretty much anything you can do, you can get your code to do for you.

I might’ve recommended if the achievements worked but they don’t so I won’t. If you get offended easily this game is not for you I’m assuming it’s not meant to be offensive just low brow humor, but nothing amazing in this game. Basically the dino running game on chrome when a page doesn’t load that’s been improved slightly by upgrades and power ups. Game is still better than Dungeon No Dungeon and is 8 dollars cheaper so that’s a positive.

Stronghold Kingdoms
Okay, with over 12000 hours on steam alone I think it’s time I review this game. This is a very addicting very parasitic game. It is completely pay to win. While it is possible to do everything for free it would take too much time. The steam version has a lot of issues with crashing so It’s probably best to just download the client at strongholdkingdoms.com. I actually quit this game for some time after leading my house to win an Age then plunging it into war.
If you want to be successfull in this game (in terms of leading other players) you have to have a basic understanding of politics and diplomacy. This game has tightly weaved webs in its community that can sometimes be very hard to climb. It took me most of an age to rise to the rank of House Marshal. It took rising up through the ranks of a faction within house 16. Then when I had a reputation I formed my own faction and filled it with volunteers from other factions of House 16 and the gloucestershire area. Pretty soon it was full and I formed 2 more factions and joined them to house 16. At this point I had 3 votes to make myself marshal. But it was not time to strike. I waited for the opportune moment which presented itself as a out of game issue that my house marshal had. Suddenly he had to go on vacation mode. During his vacation the house started to go slightly down hill and I would just keep whispering how we needed a house marshal. It wasn’t long before I had some of the other convinced that we needed a new HM. But they wern’t sure who, it’s not normally a responsibility people want. Luckily I already had plans of stepping up and ran unopposed. This wasn’t the top of the ladder though. House 16 (at this point) was in a super alliance that controlled the server. House 16 happened to be slated for winning the second age. I had to maintain diplomacy with the other houses of the alliance while waiting for my age to begin. Once it began I became the leader of the super alliance it was just a matter of keeping stability. Which takes all your time. I was psychologically drained and by the end of the round I was ready to quit. But the world at this point was farmville. So I declared war without warning on our main enemy and left the game. I found out later that the enemy won and took the next age.

I started SHK approximately a year ago, in that time i’ve learned that sometimes customer service does get so bad that your absuive family relations really did you a favor preparing you for the “Real World”.
The issues as I see them:
1. You MUST pay to play: You can invest all the time you have to be “the best” but you’ll never come close to the lady/fella that has thousands to spend in order to become the digital pimp of SHKland. You will forever be outclassed and outgunned, and if you want to have any hope of being a competitive player, you’ll end up spending at minimum a few hundred dollars to keep up. Free to pay this game isn’t.

Endless World Idle RPG, as the name states, it’s an Idle Game
In other words, the games play by itself, similar to autochess (units do their on stuff)
But here you can choose when you want to use your main character skills or your mercenaries’s ultimates.
The core mechanic of the game is very simple: you must grind your way to the top!
To do that you must beat monsters and bosses and when you finally get “stuck” on a level, you can rewind time and start all over again, but, now, stronger, so you can beat your enemies more easily.

Endless World is an amazing ARPG idle game with a lot more to offer than you see at first glance. It’s a great time sink with many challenges and enough customisation to min/max your way through the levels. It’s a great game that I highly suggest to anyone who has an interest in idle/clicker/ARPG games. It’s extremely unique with no other game on steam playing the same way.
