Incremental Adventures

Incremental Adventures

Don’t be fooled by the negative reviews from people who played it for 10 minutes. This game has far more content and depth than they’ve unlocked in that short timeframe.

I’ve been playing it since it launched on Kongregate a year ago, and it’s been one of the best idle/incremental games I’ve played in a long time.

It’s also a game you won’t easily reach the end of content in, with an active dev that actually cares about his game.

As for the DLC things that people complain about: it’s a free-to-play game, and those are clearly just more of a donation option than anything else. You don’t need them to progress in the game, and you don’t lose out on any experiences by not buying them.

This is another one of the few decent idle/incremental games on Steam. I have two big criticisms though.

The gameplay does a one 180. It looks like a party RPG kind of idle where you allocate stat points and fight tooth and nail for progression through stages. It’s like that for like an hour or two. And then the character/class/gear system becomes sort of irrelevant for advancement. At this point advancement largely depends on what you have your prestige settings and general options at. Don’t get me wrong, it still an engaging game, but in a completely different way.

I can already see how much fun this little desktop companion will be. As of right now, the only problems I have are that using your own files will be a hassle as you have to put each photo/video/sound/text one by one, as well as sometimes my mouse bugs out when it grabs it. I’ll write again once I have 1k hours B)

I love this studio lol

This game is a huge improvement over the legacy version; with online play, revamped simple battle arenas, interchangable moves, being able to raise more than one virtuacreature, and the various QoL changes made, there’s so much more replay value to the point that I made my own builds.

As a game in itself, I really enjoyed the tamagotchi + pokemon aspect where it was easy to digest yet complex enough for me to be invested in. There’s so much freedom to raising your virtuacreature to the point that most of my gameplay time was just me borderline experimenting… not to mention, the simple battle arenas, coupled with the designs of each virtuacreature (Bearcub’s s-tier btw) made it easy to learn the mechanics of affinities, while being subtle so that it isn’t too hand-holding.

It’s like a mix of first gen Pokemon and Digimon. Taking care of the little monsters is like taking care of a Digimon keychain pet, and the battle system is a turn based system very similar to the first generation of Pokemon games. The creatures evolve into different things based on how you take care of them and feed them. You can even battle them online. It’s very nostalgic. I like it. Give it a try, you might like it too.

Where is the meaning?

Where is the meaning?

«Where is the meaning?» is a single JRPG game made by two Russian developers with very special attitude to this genre. The action takes place in unknown universe where the player should make conclusions what is happening around. You are the geometric figure «square» which need to reach the end of this world. But does it exists? You should find it out in this dangerous and strange adventure.

  • Minimalistic and not overextended unique JRPG with smoothly evolving gameplay

  • Emotional voiceover with no language barrier

  • Funny dialogs and non-pretentious characters

  • Well-designed side-quests which you can skip on

  • Every enemy has unique dialog

  • You can beat the game without any battles if you do

  • You will meet tons of references easter eggs on your way

  • Minimal tiring dialogs and battles

  • Complimentary reviews of two friends who played the game

I’m not really sure how, but this game has somehow helped dismantle an organised crime gang in my area by providing a completely different angle to what the criminals had set up to expect.

T-Bone steak of RPGs.

The english in this game is hoooooorrible. If that’s something that bothers you, definitely steer clear of Witch of Ice Kingdom II. However, I’m still going to give it a positive review because I enjoyed it more than many RPG maker games I’ve played on Steam. So what did I like about it? The graphics are unique and better than the RPG maker same old, same old. The story is interesting and even though the dialog made me cringe on a regular basis, I could still understand what was going on. The main character is a witch and can’t attack normally - she can ONLY use magic so you have to strategize what spells to use to keep from running out of mp. Searching in out of the way barrels, crates, drawers, etc. is rewarded - I found some very neat items in places I wouldn’t normally expect anything. Also, there’s a free downloadable game included that’s a short prequel to the main story. I’m going to play that next. I wouldn’t say this is a fantastic game but I played it almost nonstop from beginning to end and that’s saying something. I just wish this developer translated their games better.

I generally like ‘idle’ and ‘clicker’ games until the progress completely stales out, so I thought I’d give this a go based on many reviews. And I’m very glad I did. So far it has definitely exceeded my expectations.

There is a blend of micro-management of stats/equipment/gems etc with a much higher level ‘just keep vaguely improving your team and things will work out ok’ thing going on here. Maybe later in the game choices need to be considered much more carefully, but for now the balance seems just about spot on.

TLDR… Tons of options to customize your toons and group, then you send them out on adventures while you go to work/sleep/do something productive/play other games.

Actual Review

This game really hit a sweet spot with me. I was literally about to spend $140 on a freemium phone game (please reserve judgement )= , then I found Dragon Cliff. This gives you all the customization options of those other games but at no cost! 5 characters in your party out of 25 classes to choose from, 4 gear slots, 8 gem slots, 2 enhancements on each piece of gear, 1 passive ability. It really has just the right amount of customization without being overwhelming. No juggling 12 pieces of equipment to make your guy 1% stronger. Changing just a few of the options can drastically alter how any give character performs in battle… do you want a powerhouse dps or a support who debuffs and crowd controls enemies? Most of the classes can perform in multiple roles depending on how you gear them.
