Really nice simple idle with good mechanics.

The devs are also really nice and every problem I had they fixed!

The prestige system is painless and you can see the benefits quickly.

The clothes are silly and the skins on the weapons look nice (wish there were more!)

The pets are also pure RNG and are a nice little sink to put extra plats into hoping for the best.

I was playing before they added most of these elements and each one has blended in well.

I liked the first version and have had it open since!

TLDR - Worth the money for the idle mode, and the idle mode is very good! Other sections of the game are fun for a bit but unpolished. Keep in mind this review was made during Patch 11 so things will undoubtedly change.

Idle mode is great, and is one of the best idlers I’ve ever played no doubt. There’s enough content and fun references to keep you entertained for as long or as little as you want. The animations are fun and clever; the weapons, elements, critical system, and hats are very interesting too. If I had to make one critique here I’d say the pacing is a bit off; it starts out sluggish for the first 15ish waves (can be skipped after getting an in-game upgrade) and then by the time you’ve got your fifth or sixth gold hat you literally can’t click fast enough to spend the silver you’ve accrued. After your 50th prestige it is a racing game for how fast you can click, and you won’t spend your money before it’s time to prestige again.

Drunk Soccer is the Best Soccer

Great game, love it.

It did what it had to do, felt pretty drunk after playing it one hour. I got a headache and I feel kind a sick…

It changed my life. If I want to miss out work now I just play this game and get sick so I don’t have to pretend to be.

31/10 I would recommend buying this triple a title

NGU IDLE

NGU IDLE

PRELIMINARY REVIEW! I DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH PROGRESS FOR A FULL REVIEW, MID/LATE GAME CURRENTLY!

What is “NGU Idle”?

NGU Idle is short for “Numbers Go Up Idle”. The game is apparently done mostly (or completely?) by a single programmer, “4G” aka “Somethingggg”.

NGU Idle is a pinnacle of the Idle Games genre, not to be confused with the Clicker Games genre. Why? That will be explained below.

The basic gameplay, as in any idle game, consists of doing something and then idling for most of the time. This can be shaken up by (voluntary) challenges which give special rewards or just general improvments, but make sense to progress faster. The challenges require you to reach a certain progress at all, within 24 hours, with some features disabled, etc.

Among what I assume is a sea of reviews trying to be funny (game is kind of centered around “dry” humor so my guess is all the reviews will try to be the same) I’ll try to make it quick.

The game doesn’t feel like it slows down too much, there’s a lot to unlock, and it doesn’t become overwhelming. As I said the game is based on, for lack of a better word, dry humor but the story is actually really good. The developer(4G) is a swell guy hangs out in discord and there’s a really nice and helpful community as well,

Lawnmower Game: Pinball

This is an interesting Pinball… With a variety of levels, but there are only 6 of them :| No more.

The controls are convenient.

Bought the game as a collection, for less than $1

But I didn’t get the only thing. Why is the game called lawnmower pinball? lol

We’re not going to mow the lawn are we? We just want to play pinball?

I guess this is the kind of commercial move that will increase the popularity of the Lawnmower series of games? I liked that one. It’s unusual ^^

Where is the meaning?

Where is the meaning?

«Where is the meaning?» is a single JRPG game made by two Russian developers with very special attitude to this genre. The action takes place in unknown universe where the player should make conclusions what is happening around. You are the geometric figure «square» which need to reach the end of this world. But does it exists? You should find it out in this dangerous and strange adventure.

  • Minimalistic and not overextended unique JRPG with smoothly evolving gameplay

  • Emotional voiceover with no language barrier

  • Funny dialogs and non-pretentious characters

  • Well-designed side-quests which you can skip on

  • Every enemy has unique dialog

  • You can beat the game without any battles if you do

  • You will meet tons of references easter eggs on your way

  • Minimal tiring dialogs and battles

  • Complimentary reviews of two friends who played the game

Life Simulator

I’m coming at the review from having played it before and after the multilingual client was released. So far it feels like a modern take on Alter Ego, even if it differs in the presentation.

The sound isn’t grating on the nerves, but it works without having anything memorable. The graphics also have their own style which I do like so far.

Some of the trouble I’ve had were mainly bugs and awkward dialogue. Not bad enough to make me give up on the game, but enough to give someone a heads up.

The game has become a lot more playable after the addition of English to the client. To be honest there are bugs and errors which I expected. There are sections where the text is rather awkward during the dialogue. Given there are sections of the game that are still untranslated or awkwardly localized, it’s still playable to the point where advancing will take some time.

I’ll be honest when I first played this I found it to be a nice little time passer. I was able to look past the hit and miss translation as you could usually get the jist of the conversation anyway. However that being said the game suffers for some pretty major problems if you’re playing the game in English:

  • The game freezes when trying to meet the first friend at the Restaurant when playing as the female lead character. (This has been reported numerous times with the reply typically being that it is fixed, even though the bug iiis still in the game)

Overall - 70/100

A relaxing watercolor “zuma-like” where you play as a cat

Playing as a cat - 20/20

Yes.

Acting like a cat - 5/20

You’re generally “shooting” your projectiles by knocking things off a ledge, which is obviously cat-like behavior. The menu is also full of small delights where you chew on plants and try to knock over vases. For most of the gameplay, though, the cat could be replaced with any other sprite (say, a frog) without losing anything.

This is a charming little idler game that is very relaxing.

The game is structured into 12 different paintings tied to months of the year, each with 4 stages. The goal is to match the paints (“Color Spirits”) to 1 or more of the same kind to eliminate them. Each stage sends out 100 Color Spirits to float through the scene and in order to pass the stage, you must get 60 points (1 point for each one you eliminate). Despite the simplicity of the concept, there is slight increasing of difficulty within each month’s painting stages. My favorite thing about this is the collision. You can send the Color Spirits sprawling into other, non-matching ones which can send them flying. This allows for a couple strategies. You can create chain reactions if the Color Spirits are placed just right! Or you can use non-matching ones to try and push Color Spirits into others of the same type within the line of floating spirits! But be careful; you can also push them right off the screen, which means you won’t be able to match them, so that’s fewer points for you to accumulate.

Cookie Clicker

“Ultimately, the cookie economy is not designed to help people. It just makes cookies. Like a virus or a tumor. Its nature is to exploit everything around it for its own expansion. Grandmas, banks, temples, every part of life is perverted to serve the purpose of the economy. Nothing is too sacred to be sacrificed on its altar. And for what? What’s the point of a massive, global economy, if it fails to protect the elderly and the vulnerable? Even those with the most cookies don’t really benefit from the system. Past a certain level of wealth, you can never spend that many cookies. And it’s not like the game ever ends. You cannot “win” Cookie Clicker. You just keep making cookies until you stop or you die. You just hoarding cookies for its own sake. It’s not really about the cookies, it’s about the accumulation. Getting more. You could be collecting any meaningless number: points.. subscribers… small, green pieces of paper… past a certain point you just making a number go up.

Cookie Clicker is a bizarre game and one that makes me wish that Steam had something better than a binary Yes/No review system, as this game can probably work well for some people but horribly for others. I have tried to keep this review as short as possible, but with enough depth to let you know whether this game could be for you.

The idea that idle games can form some sort of critique of modern games (especially with RPG elements increasingly commonplace) is well-worn and incredibly applicable to Cookie Clicker, and whilst some idle games have started charging for in-game purchases, Cookie Clicker is admirably devoid of them. The real question for someone approaching this is whether what Cookie Clicker does is subversive enough to warrant putting time into it at all.
