Whispers in the Dark
The author was definitely trying to scare me, well, he did it. The game turned out to be quite original, but with some technical flaws. It’s too dark and a lame flashlight that doesn’t shine a damn thing.

I really enjoyed this game. It wasn’t super scary but had a good horror atmosphere throughout it. The story was also pretty good as well. It was still rough in a few spots and I think it could benefit from a note or something at the beginning that lets you know the controls like crouch, interact, and tasks. Overall for the price I would recommend this game. If you want to see some game play you can check out my video below.

I don’t know if I really totally recommend this. It was pretty scary and gave me quite a few jump scares. It was also pretty funny as well in the beginning. Towards the end it gave some homophobic jokes and also just the translation to English kinda got lost. Overall if you just look at the first 3/4ths of the game I would recommend it. rodina.doc
Rodina.doc tells the history of modern Russia in catastrophes, protests, and criminal cases.
The gameplay is inspired by classic adventure games. It shows everyday life and tells the stories of ordinary people against a backdrop of historical catastrophes. Many artefacts from the epoch, research texts, and historical eyewitness accounts can be discovered over the course of the game. The documentary is combined with elements of fantastical realism, quotes with fantasy, adventure with classic arcades.
Rodina.doc is a documentary game from the Department of Pain, a group of critically minded documentary artists. This is a journey through the history of modern Russia, from 1991 to the present. Each episode is a catastrophe – the coup, the shelling of the Russian White House, the First Chechen War, terrorist attacks, politically-motivated trials, protests – everything that makes up our contemporary reality, the place we all came from. Our uncomfortable past, our invisible Russia. History is us, and “coming to terms with the truth is a recipe for civic solidarity”.
Game features:
-
Point-and-click quests with historical backdrops. Try to live in 1991, stand up against the totalitarian coup, and shop for wallpaper.
-
Varieties of mini-games, inspired by classics from the ’80s and ’90s.
-
Historic documentary evidence: books, video, radio.
-
Music from 1991.
-
Invented characters and real historical figures.
-
Authentic Soviet newspapers.
-
Deficits of toilet paper.
Episode 1. “The Start: 1991-93”.
Late-USSR, 19 August 1991. Typist and translator Nina Alesina wakes up at 7 a.m. in her Moscow apartment. Today Nina is only interested in her renovation work. For some time now, she has dreamed of new wallpaper. At the same time, a fraction of the Soviet government has for a while dreamed of stopping perestroika and returning to late Stalinism. Throughout the country, there are deficits, unemployment, strikes, and glasnost. Starting with the attempted coup in 1991, our story will continue with the constitutional crisis of 1993.

MushrooMonster
MushrooMonster is a short, scary, and sometimes funny horror game. You start off with a flashlight on what seems to be an island surrounded by trees. Your objective is to get all 12 brown mushrooms and burn them. Along with those brown mushrooms, there are some red and green mushrooms you can collect, although these don’t count towards the score. The red mushrooms make you a little faster, while also highlighting any brown mushrooms a bright red color. The green mushroom is used to throw at the mushroom monster to make him disappear for a while. I found out that you can actually run away from the monster if you have a full bar of sprint and keep sprinting, resulting in the mushroom monster to disappear. This makes the green mushrooms kind of useless, although it did save me a couple of times when the monster appeared out of nowhere. There is a sound cue of leaves rustling around that the monster makes to let you know it’s about to chase you. After you collect all 12 mushrooms, you are then tasked with going back to where you started where there was a campfire to burn the mushrooms and beat the game. For 4 dollars I can’t really complain about this game. However, there are some things I hope they fix. I hope they highlight the brown mushrooms and red mushrooms so its easier to see in the dark. There were times where I felt I couldn’t find any mushrooms for about 10 minutes and I might have just walked over them. Other than the long time of finding mushrooms, I have no complaints. It’s also funny when the lady runs out of stamina and makes a weird moaning breathing noise lol. Anyways it’s an alright game, if you are unsure if you want to play this, I did make a full game playthrough/let’s play on this game. Thank you and I hope you all have a blessed and spooky day! :) | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BMOVROcB6j4

I play a lot of horror games on my YT channel, this is very slender-esque but instead of pages it’s mushrooms, to begin with the game is creepy and the ambience is great, plus the added jump scares are always a treat (for the viewers…) but after the first 5-6 mins the game loses it’s scare factor and just becomes a walk and collect game, the initial fear of the monster is long gone and I found myself searching for the last mushroom for about 10 minutes which in turn made me forget everything great about the game.

Lawnmower Game: Pinball
This is an interesting Pinball… With a variety of levels, but there are only 6 of them :| No more.
The controls are convenient.
Bought the game as a collection, for less than $1
But I didn’t get the only thing. Why is the game called lawnmower pinball? lol
We’re not going to mow the lawn are we? We just want to play pinball?
I guess this is the kind of commercial move that will increase the popularity of the Lawnmower series of games? I liked that one. It’s unusual ^^

The mystery of the planet venus
Picked this up on a whim and genuinely enjoyed it.
It’s very much an indie game, it has a couple bugs and quirks but nothing game breaking. Got myself stuck in a wall at one point but all I had to do was reload the save.
The story and atmosphere were extremely interesting. I really hope the dev continues the story, but if not I’m excited to see what else they come out with.
