Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin

The title says MH Stories well i should note there is not much story going on in this game, but that is to be expected from capcom and a monster hunter game!

the gameplay is amazing. its unique and really fun weather you’re fighting or exploring.

i really enjoyed the rock, paper, scissor style for the battles and how the animations worked to really show that style!

so many cool monsters and most of them can be obtained as monsties! hey you monster hunter fans out there who want to mount your favorite monster when they wont try to knock you off, get this game right now cause thats what you’re about to do here!

Really enjoyed the game, its a bit grindy and my only concern is the lobby for co op missions which rarely find people to play with, so i end up doing solo.

Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin Trial Version

I’ve sunk 10.3 hours into this game at this point on the trial. I haven’t even finished it. Monsters are at 11. Found plenty of eggs. Maxing out my armors available. I am actually really enjoying this game. I have several other preorders I need to do first so I’m gonna finish this trial up before I move onto the full game at this point.

People complaining you can’t play the game with mouse and keyboard. It’s completely playable. I’ve had zero issues with it at all.

I dont actually have any complaints with the trial at this point. In 10 hours I should have found something that was actually complaint worthy but there really isn’t. Sure if I alt tab I have to reapply full screen. Not a big deal.

Recommended with a big caveat.

First, I’ve never played a single Monster Hunter game, but I’ve seen others play, so what follows is a review of the game in mostly a vacuum. This is a very simplistic JRPG that borrows from the Monster Hunter universe, but at its core, it is a turn-based “Rock, Paper, Scissors” combat game based heavily on RNG. It’s not for me, but I think there’s probably lots of people who would have fun with it.

The good:

  • Nice character designs

  • You get to customize the MC

Star Witch

Star Witch

‘Star Witch’ is an Oculus Rift Only action shooter that for some reason doesn’t work on the Oculus Rift. In fact, the frame rate is so low this game is pretty much unplayable and definitely so nauseating that you wouldn’t want to play it anyway. It seems to be a poorly made shooter with some of the worse voice acting you will ever hear. I know £3.99 isn’t a very big asking price, but asking anything for this at the moment is asking too much, avoid this for now until it gets fixed. Dragon War

Dragon War

This game has good potential. The idea of fighting other dragons and having to worry about more than one is rad. I like how each dragon varies and has different abilities but overall are the same, which makes the fighting a bit more fair. The AI will circle around a bunch and do lots of movements that can be very mind boggling or annoying. The game is obviously in early release so there is lots of updates that are needed. I definitely recommend this game and give it a chance to help devs build it further

Dungeon Scavenger

Dungeon Scavenger

RECOMMENDED : Ratings 8/10 (Very Enjoyable, Great price to enjoyment ratio).

Dungeon Scavenger was a really fun and enjoyable Rogue-like dungeon crawler that I enjoy very much.

This game provides an interesting twists the the regular rogue-like dungeon crawler, using many different game mechanics. There is also great replayability because the user can chose to play one of 8 interesting classes, which are extremely different in all aspect. There are also 4 different difficulty mode and the “Impossible” difficulty is as the name suggest : it’s impossible to play it directly. The challenge is to support your character in the impossible mode with money and other resources from your other character. I spend many hours farming “skill point potions” using my other characters and then sending them over to the character in impossible mode.

Real player with 99.2 hrs in game

TL;DR: Simple and relaxing dungeon crawler that can see you putting in dozens of hours on a single class run, let alone twelve of them.

Dungeon Scavenger is one of those gems of a game that fully embodies the old adage of ‘less is more’. Although the forward face of the game makes it seem like an outdated slog, in practice it proves to be a highly enjoyable experience.

Gameplay consists of moving a highlighted square across a randomized grid layout with encounters that differ every time you rest and/or reset the dungeon through events; whereas combat is simply pressing buttons with the goal of maximizing damage output and minimizing damage taken through the use of class-specific spells and enhancements to increase your strength or hinder that of your enemy.
