Kastle Krush
Its a nice little RTS game that was made for kids but is easily playable by all ages. I had the most fun with this game after I got nice and drunk one night. Its so easy to win you can play this game while heavily intoxicated and drunk and still win! Just build like 3 powerful buildings on the first forest map and you won the game lol. Single player is all you need to 100% complete the game from what I can tell so that’s a HUGE plus since the multiplayer is non existent. For me this is just going to be a game I casually get a few wins a day on until I hit 100% completion. No rush. In fact I might go ahead and put this game on hold for a while until I 100% complete some of my AAA games ive been meaning to complete since last year lol.

not worth $5
Plain is how i would describe this game.
you create buildings, thats all you do. as soon as you reach the building cap there’s nothing else to do. there are no skill trees, no real “strategy”, you only have two skills that you barely use.

Starters Orders 6 Horse Racing
I have played this game over 300 hours. It is by turns, addictive, extremely frustrating, and sometimes just plain risible.
If you play the trainer/owner game, as most appear to, there is really little to do other than select the races your horse has the best chance of winning. You can get involved in the day to day nuts and bolts of training only by playing the real time game, which is quite literally one day game for every one day reality. If you want to role play a career, it would be as well to become a real trainer. There is a lot of detail and depth in the background information, and the ratings system does indeed rate the horses on their performances quite well. It all feels quite good, until you get to the racecourse itself and the race day game engine. If you like watching horses race, then don’t expect it to look anything like any horse race you have ever seen. Horses in almost every race are either miles ahead, or utterly tailed off, even in five furlong races. Jockeys will ride like fury to get to a challenging position, and then stop riding, or go into long lead with a double handful, glancing confidently over their shoulders until the moment they drop back to the finishing position that has been pre-ordained for them. Excellent jumpers will throw away the race with a terrible jump at the last fence with depressing regularity. It’s like watching a bad magician at work. And the most overused phrase from the game is “There’s going to be a big shock here.” “Big shocks” are the norm. 100-1 outsiders win feature races vastly more often than fancied horses. When the jockey of your top-rated, top-weighted favourite, beaten out of sight again by a 100-1 shot weighted with 9-12 comes back to give you the logically impossible statement “your horse was running above its grade” you know someone involved hasn’t thought this through. Could be a great game, but they seem to think it just needs a few more bells and whistles. It doesn’t.

Starters Orders 6 is a great horse racing SIMULATION game. Don’t expect the shiny visuals and arcade-style gameplay of the Gallop Racer series here. As others have stated, this is more or less the horse racing equivalent of the Football Manager series with lots of spreadsheet-style screens and menus… but if the thought of a realistic menu-based thoroughbred stable management simulator gets you even slightly moist, then you’ve found the right game.
What you’ll like:
Breeding - Breeding your own horses in Starters Order 6 is as simple as selecting a stallion and mare from a long list of available candidates and telling them to GET IT ON. If you own both horses, it’s free of charge, otherwise you’ll have to pay a nominal fee based on the racing success of the stallion or mare that you select. Just like in real life, you never know what’s gonna pop out later. You can breed as many or as few horses as you want in a racing season and provide all of them with new names when they become two year olds.

Starters Orders 7 Horse Racing
A little while ago, I wrote what might be considered a stinker of a review of Starter’s Orders 6. After a very long while, and some discreet modding, it came to be a game which I had a great deal of fun with, despite its limitations.
I guess I wanted to spot a chasing prospect where I liked the bottom line, persuade a wealthy client to buy it, geld it, and follow a career path I could see similar AI, NH horses following.
Racing is off. And there doesn’t seem to be a lot of activity around Starter’s Orders 7.

Given SO6 exists, this is certainly not worth the money at full price. Maybe at 3rd of the price. Maybe.
It offers very little in improvements from SO6. Some updated menus, and more in depth breeding. Nothing more in the strategy of the game. Nothing more to you stable management, or upgrades. All the same. It could have been done as a simple DLC to SO6.
Oh, and the new “commentary”..,. if you wanted break a persons will, you would lock them in a room and play the commentary from this game. It could be described as simply Dreadful! The first thing you’ll do is look for a way to turn it off. The best I’ve found is change to ambient commentary in the race calls, and then lower the volume of the speech on the menus. Who in their right mind listened to that, and said, “oh yeah, that sounds good”. Mind boggling.

Fun Horse Game
if you can select the RIGHT races for your horses and not put them into races that are way above there potential
easiest way i found to make money is start breeding and sell the offspring , then the games just that little bit easier and fun
Noseband and blinkers always get me laughing

I like that you have mostly total control over your operation. From training, buying, selling and entering races. Don’t like that you cannot scratch a horse from a race (not that I have found) if your horse isn’t ready to race that day. The betting for other than “to win” is foreign to the US. We use Win, Place and Show. Easier to lose your money that way, I think. We also don’t do many hurdles or have that many strangely built race tracks. And the Left hand racing is just normal for the US. Most are dirt or synthetic surfaces and I don’t see many turf races shown here in the US. So, if you like horse racing and want to see what it would be like to own such an operation, this game is for you.

Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition
Let me preface this by saying I recommend this to others in two separate categories: For people looking for horse games that aren’t aimed at 12 year old girls, endless clicking crappy browser games with horse “art” that is just the Coggins test horse colored in, or “an RPG that incidentally has horse stuff”, this is worth the price. For regular gamers, wait for a sale.
The graphics are better than most horse games out there, not RDR2 quality, but they’re realistic, the horse moves in a normal way (no odd gaits, no joints bending inappropriately). All the jockey options are rather unattractive, but then, I really don’t care what my jockey self looks like, and honestly it probably matches me well enough irl. I think that it would be nice if we could choose the color of each part of our silks, not just “here are some combinations we have approved, pick one”. I think that’s a bit short sighted, and hope they open that up eventually.

I wanted to wait until I’d played for a while before I reviewed, because I want to be fair since I love this game so much, and I feel like some people who came from mobile (like I did) are giving this game worse reviews than it deserves, but also people who never played the mobile version don’t understand our criticisms and why some of us are finding such a seemingly great game to be so lackluster. So now that I’ve played 20+ hours, I feel confident enough in my experience with this game to objectively as possible give some CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM FOR THE DEVS (so I really hope they read this review). I would list the many pros and cons to getting this game as well, but there aren’t enough characters for me to add them. Scroll to the bottom for a TL;DR.

This expansion adds a good couple of horse and pony breeds. Most have coat color choices as well. Wish they had made this expansion for Wildlife Park 3 as well. I definitely enjoy being able to have horses in a game without the tweeny gameplay of having to brush and “doll up” your horse. Just note that as a part of the Wildlife Park series, there is “realistic” breeding, so a word of caution to people who may be buying this for younger children.

It’s not for everyone but I like it. Trying to survive as an 80’s delinquent by playing the horses and having random acts of weirdness on the beach is pretty amusing. They are using their starters orders game to play out the races. Apparently in the 80’s bookie shops in England, punters bet on races with only an audio call of the race. I’m only guessing because I’m from the states… Wish they would use the announcer calls for their starters orders races but I digress… So yeah it’s stupid, it’s fun and weird but there is nothing like it. If you like horse racing, then you should give this a go because there just isn’t much out there for us.

EquiMagic - Galashow of Horses
I was going to recommend EquiMagic after about four hours of play, but the further I went into it the less I liked it. The overall idea is neat and probably appealing if you find stuff like Cavalia or the Lipizzaner horses interesting, but what you’ll get is something more akin to the lowrider minigame from GTA: San Andreas - yes that irritating, rage-quit inducing one. You MUST get very good at “steering” your horse via mouse as well as timing key presses to the second if you want to finish this game.

I recently got this game for free from a curator connect offer in my group 100% Achievements Events group. This 3D simulation game with arcade reaction-based action gameplay by b-alive gmbh features a custom avatar that decides to own up to 5 different horses, train and perform in a variety of up to 8 different horse show events, each with a different theme, variety of movements and a musical accompaniment.
The game has a good tutorial system to walk the player through how to keep the stats high for the horse and perform in each show well to score a large number of points needed for achievements, a nice glossary that will demonstrate and describe each special horse movement or each horse breed and the choice of background music played in each show are great by matching the themes featured in each show very well.

Gameplay / Story
You start the game as a simple vagabond who is still so unknown in the world and has not yet made its way into the history books. The story takes place in a fictional medieval world, which is haunted by a spreading curse and has already cost many their lives. At some point you can build your own cities and buildings in them, which produce raw materials for you that you can trade with other cities and their rulers. they try to conquer your city and need your warfare to defend them. Of course, you can also use your diplomatic skills and negotiate with them. Opponents will try to sneak into your community and cause you problems. The more relationships you have with other characters, the more opportunities you have to put things right again. There is also equipment for you to make yourself stronger, such as special upgrades for your armor or clothing itself. Many different types of weapons have made it into the game, which fit into the era. After every battle won should not be unrewarded, of course, and unique spoils of war await you. A highlight is that you can also start a family and what is special about it is that when your main trafficker dies, the parents' abilities are passed on to your children. You are free to decide what your next step is and where you will go to achieve your goals.
