Riding Out
Riding Out is actually good horse game so far. Yea we know… Early access game it has it bugs and stuffs that makes it annoying or “empty” looking but i’m liking it so far.
Taming horses is simple and easy and you can get as many horses as you want, as long as you have the money to buy carrots for them, building is meh for me, especially houses… it seems simple but at first 5 times I tried it I was losing my mind so I think this needs a lot more improvements. Getting money is kinda annoying at the moment, you either collect ore or collect mushrooms… I haven’t found any other ways to get money so I hope there will be more in the future. One thing that kinda makes me feel sad or mad.. is that there’s no kind of tutorials whatsoever so for me at first I didn’t know what I was able to do and I had no idea what to do so I just did some “main” quests and got bored with it for a long time…

They’re working hard on this game, and it shows. They’ve really improved it since my first review, and I look forward to seeing future updates! :)

Man oh man, where to even begin?
Let’s start off by saying yeah, it’s early access but come on - there are some basic things that should not have been left out - you know, like a half arsed attempt at a tutorial, or a map marker, or heck - even just giving us a pick axe for supporting this game. Come on, scratch our backs a little bit here, devs.

Horse Riding Deluxe 2
So far I really love this game, the graphics are pretty, I like that it’s open world and even if I haven’t gotten around to explore everything yet (still a bunch of HRD coins, dogs and wild horses missing) I already had a great time riding around! I love that you need to use the signs and the map to find your way around and to the villages.
What I also really like is that you can go swimming with your horse, I don’t think I ever played a horse game where you could do that before!
The races are challenging enough but not so challenging that you can’t win gold and they have somewhat varying degrees of difficulty which I like.

Another very interesting, enjoyable horse game!
I played the first Horse Riding Deluxe and really enjoyed it, so I was quite excited to see a second game and I wasn’t disappointed!
There are a lot of similarities between the first and second game, so I won’t go into as much detail in my review for this one as I did the first.
I’ve been looking for reasonable horse games for a long time and I’ve tried many of them. This game is one of the closest ones I’ve found to what I’ve been looking for.

Horse Racing 2016
I completed the first season so far and already now I can tell that the game is difficult to play due to several issues.
- Controls -
First off the controls are not explained at all.
As of now the store page says “Partial Controller Support” which implies that keyboard or mouse should be fine and some controllers somewhat okay.
That’s not really the case, though as the menus and the game show PlayStation buttons.
At least you also can navigate through the menus with the mouse and the arrow keys, enter and escape.

if you are fan of racing games, but already got tired of car racing - this is the game that might interest you:
racing on horses. be careful with whip - on one hand its the only way to win a race; on the other hand - if you try too hard you may angry your horse :)
for me it was great experience - as i never interested in a topic - and this gives a lot of information about horse racing world: horse characteristics, different races, etc - plus - fun )

Riding Club Championships
I have mixed feelings about this game. I used to play this back about 10 years ago when it was a downloadable game outside of facebook. It was my favorite game at the time, and that version has remained my favorite horse game I have ever played.
This version, while in some ways is better than the downloadable version, is as a whole, missing something essential that the downloadable version had: excitement. That game was exciting to play! The courses were FUN, the cutscene when you started a course were FUN, unlocking the tiers was hard work but so very rewarding when you got to tier 3. I hardly ever play this game anymore. It is just not exciting for me. It’s boring. We do the same courses over and over. Yes, there is a course creator that the downloadable version did not have, but it’s not enough for me.

When this was a standalone game it was fantastic. Only real downside was long load times in some matches. However when that was shut down and they moved to facebook the quality of gameplay, content, and graphics - including the horses - went downhill BUT they made a promise of reconstructing the game back to the original… That was YEARS ago now and I even spent two years paying them monthly through facebook, even when I wasn’t playing a couple of years ago. No progress made to bring back cross country or dressage as they said they would, it’s a real let down.

Rival Stars Horse Racing: Desktop Edition
Let me preface this by saying I recommend this to others in two separate categories: For people looking for horse games that aren’t aimed at 12 year old girls, endless clicking crappy browser games with horse “art” that is just the Coggins test horse colored in, or “an RPG that incidentally has horse stuff”, this is worth the price. For regular gamers, wait for a sale.
The graphics are better than most horse games out there, not RDR2 quality, but they’re realistic, the horse moves in a normal way (no odd gaits, no joints bending inappropriately). All the jockey options are rather unattractive, but then, I really don’t care what my jockey self looks like, and honestly it probably matches me well enough irl. I think that it would be nice if we could choose the color of each part of our silks, not just “here are some combinations we have approved, pick one”. I think that’s a bit short sighted, and hope they open that up eventually.

I wanted to wait until I’d played for a while before I reviewed, because I want to be fair since I love this game so much, and I feel like some people who came from mobile (like I did) are giving this game worse reviews than it deserves, but also people who never played the mobile version don’t understand our criticisms and why some of us are finding such a seemingly great game to be so lackluster. So now that I’ve played 20+ hours, I feel confident enough in my experience with this game to objectively as possible give some CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM FOR THE DEVS (so I really hope they read this review). I would list the many pros and cons to getting this game as well, but there aren’t enough characters for me to add them. Scroll to the bottom for a TL;DR.

Horse Riding Deluxe
I wanted a game where I could ride a horse and just explore. Although the graphics are not very up to date it really did not matter because it was exactly what I was looking for. You get used to the horse controls after a while and as the horse levels up they get easier to handle. The wild horses around the world are hidden but easy enough to find when looking properly, although it would be nice to see more roaming animals there was wildlife around and it looked nice.

A very interesting, enjoyable horse game!
I’ve played many horse games and am always on the lookout for new ones with different ideas. I’ve got to say this one really stands out to me, I’m very impressed. If you want a game where the horse and character animation and design are beautiful and perfect, then this is probably not the game for you. But if (like me) you want a horse game that includes unusual, interesting features (something a little different from the rest!) and an open world to explore freely, then you’d probably really enjoy this game. Let me go over some of the features:

Ostwind/Windstorm
Windstorm / Ostwind. The Game. Yeah. After this nice movies we have the game now also.
Woow. I´m flashed. Awesome game. The Map is scanned from the original Locations in the movies. One of the best u can get in Horse-Genre Games. I´m a big fan of the movies 1-5. May, cause the locations of the movies are mostly in my homeland: Hessen.
Play as the nice redhead Mika and his black wild-horse: Ostwind
Engine, Graphics and the Story behind are great. If u like to ride horses in ACC, TW3, RDR 2, FS 19 and so on, u will love this game.

UPD. Sorry, but I can’t recommend it anymore - developer released the second… almost the same game. And already promo vid shows that there they have fixed things they SHOULD have fixed already in this one, othervise it’s a little unfair fail if keep in mind their quiz about what to ADD, or fix, or do better. They did. In a different game with a separate pricing. Er… lol?
Seriously, guys, it was a shame to leave awful animation here like that — at least, I even don’t want to mention 0 of storyline, okay, no questions about that was moved in other version, this one wasn’t meant for it from the start. But basic one and only character animation? Basically riding is all that this version offers and even this is a crap because of an awful animation movement. Especially for this price.

Starters Orders 7 Horse Racing
A little while ago, I wrote what might be considered a stinker of a review of Starter’s Orders 6. After a very long while, and some discreet modding, it came to be a game which I had a great deal of fun with, despite its limitations.
I guess I wanted to spot a chasing prospect where I liked the bottom line, persuade a wealthy client to buy it, geld it, and follow a career path I could see similar AI, NH horses following.
Racing is off. And there doesn’t seem to be a lot of activity around Starter’s Orders 7.

Given SO6 exists, this is certainly not worth the money at full price. Maybe at 3rd of the price. Maybe.
It offers very little in improvements from SO6. Some updated menus, and more in depth breeding. Nothing more in the strategy of the game. Nothing more to you stable management, or upgrades. All the same. It could have been done as a simple DLC to SO6.
Oh, and the new “commentary”..,. if you wanted break a persons will, you would lock them in a room and play the commentary from this game. It could be described as simply Dreadful! The first thing you’ll do is look for a way to turn it off. The best I’ve found is change to ambient commentary in the race calls, and then lower the volume of the speech on the menus. Who in their right mind listened to that, and said, “oh yeah, that sounds good”. Mind boggling.

Fun Horse Game
if you can select the RIGHT races for your horses and not put them into races that are way above there potential
easiest way i found to make money is start breeding and sell the offspring , then the games just that little bit easier and fun
Noseband and blinkers always get me laughing

I like that you have mostly total control over your operation. From training, buying, selling and entering races. Don’t like that you cannot scratch a horse from a race (not that I have found) if your horse isn’t ready to race that day. The betting for other than “to win” is foreign to the US. We use Win, Place and Show. Easier to lose your money that way, I think. We also don’t do many hurdles or have that many strangely built race tracks. And the Left hand racing is just normal for the US. Most are dirt or synthetic surfaces and I don’t see many turf races shown here in the US. So, if you like horse racing and want to see what it would be like to own such an operation, this game is for you.

All of the positive reviews for this game are a lie from paid shill reviewers. You want an example? Look at the review from Ego Tempest: https://steamcommunity.com/id/EgoTempest/recommended/778870/
That account has posted 640 positive reviews, all of them with only 5 to 10 minutes of play time on each game. That’s 640 positive reviews that amount to nothing more than launching the game, letting it idle just long enough for steam to allow a review (5 minutes) and then turning the game off.
