ALONE
I normally don’t leave reviews, but I just finished making a let’s play of this game, and I enjoyed it so much I had to leave a like. Nice Job DrakeCraft! The game can be both funny and suspenseful and creepy and is just an enjoyable treat. 7/5 pineapples!

alone’s a sweet one with a nice pacing & concept.
however it’s really short in length, which is kinda sad. would’ve loved to play more of it.
still, a solid indie game that was not lacking in overall quality.
just that kevin macleod song I’ve heared too much in my life kinda disrupted my immersion, complete silence would’ve been more fitting in my opinion.

At first i just grabbed this game for something spooky from the halloween sale (which needs to start oct 1st, not 2days before halloween!). After the prologue is wasnt very impressed but the steam halloween sale doesnt have many quality games this year so i kept on playing. Now i cant put the damn thing down, yes its that damn good! Yes its scary but more importantly its has a quality story and it becomes very addicting once you start finding clues and weird items, that you have no idea what they are for till later on. So glad i took a chance on darkwood, and the fact it takes place in the 80s is always a plus. Worth buying full price imo. Cant wait to see if there will be more content added or even a darkwood 2. Darkwood is an easy 8/10 for me and i havent even reached chapter 2 yet. Hurry up and buy!

Dust to Dusk
A well-written short horror story!
The actual main plot was quite unexpected for me and I had a lot of fun with the puzzles.
A lot of effort was put into it with a lot of CGs and plenty character portraits! I was very happy about the game having a gallery!
I think it’s a well-spent few hours, especially considering the low price.
If you would still rather have a look into the game before buying then you can watch a part of my playthrough:

I wasn’t too sure what to think about the overall plot until I got everything in the gallery and unlocked one last side story. I don’t want to spoil anything, but I would highly recommend that you make the effort to do so as well. Otherwise, you’ll really be missing out. If you enjoy horror-themed adventure games with heart behind them, you’ll love this. I had a great time, and it was packed with way more content than I expected given the one dollar asking price.

TAURONOS
Overall this is mostly a well thought out game. Its got puzzles that aren’t to complex, A captivating story line, and some amazing art and voice overs. The reason i chose not to recommend this game though is mainly because it is very easy (to get the evil win screen) and because there is a lack of community made content it means a player who wants to feel like they won could be forced to repeat the same levels and chapters over and over again until they finally find the objective. I hope im being direct enough about this. I dont want to spoil anything so im not putting the name of objective or an explanation to what the evil win screen is. (im going to change this to a positive review because i really appreciate it when developers listen to there community and use that to try and make there game better and because this game only needs some minor changes in my opinion.)

Turonos is an interesting little puzzle game. All the features you expect are in there and the overall feeling is that of a polished game.
Pros:
-
engaging gameplay due to the darkness and the constant need to flee
-
elaborate levels that require at least two playthroughs in order to uncover most of the secrets and powers
-
engaging puzzles without being difficult. I don’t really like puzzle centered games and that is why this one has just the right content. Just enough to give you something to quickly think at while running, but not difficult so you would have to stop and risk being mauled to death.

Soul Catcher
It’s nice to play a game that doesn’t hand everything to you on a plate. In an age of ultra-high budget productions I’m reminded that sometimes simplicity can produce a compelling game. Some talented individuals with a story to tell, maybe a few puzzles and jump scares along the way make a surprisingly compelling game. Because of the whole horror retro vibe of the game this is definitely one to play with headphones. I have to admit that I took a while to complete this, probably because I’m not that great at puzzle games. I have to admit there were periods of frustration when I was stuck on a few puzzles but to me that makes it all the sweeter when you finally figure it out. Don’t get me wrong, the game isn’t without its flaws. The low-res aesthetic certainly won’t appeal to everyone. Sometimes it feels like the difficulty of the puzzles can suddenly jump without much of a ramp up to them. I think an optional hint mode as an option within each puzzle could help. Checkpoints need to be more evenly spaced as I had to play for a good 30 minutes before I hit my first one. For what the game is, when it was floated on the steam store I thought it was a little expensive. But hey what are Steam sales for! All in all this game is a great reminder that you don’t necessarily need a multi-million pound budget and photo realistic graphics to make a compelling story that’s enjoyable (if a little scary) to play through. Now I just need to complete play throughs with all the other characters XD.

Yes, I’m aware of the ALL CAPS game this title is similar to.
Are there games out there like Rogue?
Yes, a lot. That is why “Rogue-like” is now a genre.
Am I going to make a federal case out of inspiration?
No, no I am not.
What I will do is say that this game is awesome. It sets up its own unsettling folklore-themed flavor, presented in classic retro-PC style, with some pretty clever puzzles. There are multiple characters, and multiple endings depending on what you do and/or the order you do things in.

#### Gameplay description:
I’m PYSL, I’m the author of this game. This is a puzzle-solving, survival, adventure, survival, and horror shooting game I made. The viewing angle of the game is from a bird’s-eye view, and you will control Yang Tian (the protagonist) Continue to survive the monster’s attacks and seek the truth. There are various types of monsters in the game, their attack methods are different, and their own attributes are also different. Players need to use the existing weapon resources in their hands to deal with them flexibly, otherwise it will be very difficult to clear the customs. There are different types of guns in the game, and each has its own characteristics, please switch according to your needs. Weapon accessories have various functions, I wish you crazy kills. In battle, you can also use skills to help you not die in a dangerous environment. As the plot clears, you can unlock multi-week games, as well as powerful equipment and convenient items. In order to facilitate the operation of the player, a touch screen operation is made on the screen, which can be used if necessary. In addition to keyboard operations, the same game also supports handle linking, and the handle button functions can be customized.
#### Author’s message:
This is the first game I made, so there are many flaws in all aspects. For example, music, art, etc. are not satisfactory, and there may even be some bugs that cannot be solved by yourself. I hope you can bear with me. If there is a BUG, I will solve it as soon as possible, if I will solve the BUG. Because I was the only one who made the game. Of course, I also hope that you will like this game. If you like it, I will continue to make a sequel to the game. The sequel supports multiple characters and has more guns, props, and skills. I even conceived a combo system. Of course these are all things to do. Finally, I hope you all have a good time.

Indie developers from Indonesia may be a minority, but they are definitely on the rise! Take the Dreadout franchise or the recent demo Who Is He: Let Me Out- and what’s one thing they got in common? HORROR!!! Gamecom Team’s A Day Without Me (ADW) is yet another! The dev’s portfolio includes having worked on the mobile game Babol, with a Crash-Bash likeness but as an animate box and Parakacuk, a gang-based brawler set in a school!

Motte Island
Okay, I’m gonna do something I don’t normally do, and write a review before playing this game to its conclusion. I just can’t help myself, I feel inspired. Or, in Motte-speak: “Help myself I can’t, I feel inspire.”
The first problem with this game is the apparent lack of anyone on the design team who can speak English. This I don’t mind, but surely someone in their broader social circle could have offered to do a quick proof-read of the game before releasing it commercially to the world at large?
– Real player with 5.8 hrs in game
Motte Island is a top down survival horror game that took some inspiration from the classic Resident Evil/Silent Hill. Since there aren’t many top-down horror games I can think of (or any at all, really), it’s hard to compare it to any specific game. My playtime was about 5 hours, but on average it’d probably take around 3-5 hours to complete.
The story, atmosphere, and music are actually pretty decent for a $5 retail priced game (which you can get even cheaper during a sale). The script has a lot of broken english in it, it can mostly be understood but all of it could have been easily fixed before release if they had anyone with a decent understanding of english on the dev team. The broken english can cause some of the objectives to be a tad bit confusing, because they aren’t explained fully.
