Flicker of Hope
I really wish I could recommend this game. There are some very interesting aspects to this game that I’ve never seen before. Unfortunately, however, the gameplay is just too poor to recommend.
First the good: So, the first thing you’ll notice is that the main character design is absolutely adorable and beautifully representative of the themes of light, hope, etc. that is visually expressed throughout Wick. Additionally, the way that Wick and the candles that he lights are the only light in the map (and how the light changes as you sneak and run) and the idea of the light being what leads Sister Mara to you is gorgeous and elegant (and can only really be expressed in the form of a video-game). Finally, the method by which Jean Wick revives is by possessing one of the candles that he’s lighted, which once again is beautifully representative of the the theme and story of spreading light around the cathedral.

Advantages:
1. A very cool stylee! It’s so adorable but terrifying at the same time! Reminded me A LOT of Little Nightmares. Such a great job on this one!
2. I absolutely loved how the story is unravelled through the environment! Game mechanics are also fascinating, I never ever played as a candle! I think the whole concept was amazing!
3. The game was terrifying! I loved it! It’s so cool! I didn’t expect that I will produce high pitched screams playing this at all!

Hello Neighbor Pre-Alpha
While yes its a pre alpha and has lots of bugs, in my opinion it is what hello neighbor should have been, i mean the newer art style just isnt scary and it focuses more on the puzzle solving then the actual horror, i also love the fact that the house looks like a real house that doesnt have roller coasters or anything crazy like that it feels like your sneaking into a real home with a real person who learns things living inside it which i think really adds to the horror aspect, so i highly recommend this version as it feels a lot more like a horror game than it does a puzzle solver.

What Hello Neighbor Should’ve been. This is the first build of Hello Neighbor. It’s buggy, broken, crashes constantly, is extremely hard, but is a masterpiece.
The atmosphere is insanely good. The game nails the creepy atmosphere. The music that plays when you enter the house/when the neighbor is close is enough to send chills down your spine. The game is straightforwards enough, find the correct items to unlock his basment. He sometimes patrols the house, but usually just watches TV. Give it a try, you won’t regret it. That is unless your game crashes and you lose all your progress. Happy breaking and entering!

Dark effigy
I enjoyed the strange scorpion fellow. The games audio is bad, the jump scares suck, and the character models are terrible. But then again, what did you expect from a two dollar horror game.

Update to review:
Well well well, I reviewed at 3 hrs in originally, and estimated there’d be another ~3 or so hours of content and achievement hunting to go.
Now I’m 11 hrs in, thanks to further updates to the game play modes and multiple ways the game can be completed with different endings.
What a gem this turned out to be.
Original review:
Fun little game. Great for the value/cost.
It has quite a high level of polish for the price - various voice over actors, lots of sci-fi and semi-organic/cyber assets in play, many usual tropes like steam vents and so on. The game works and runs well. Enough tension to make you fumble and fall.

That son-of-a-gun DSD’s gone and done it again! He took my smeared brain matter from my playthroughs and obsession, mind you- most notably of Our Secret Below (OSB), INNER and he reconstructed them using some advanced tech! Being a patron of his work, seeing his tireless efforts in creating meaningful yet underrated haunting experiences has been inspiring!

SEDOMAIRI / せどまいり
This game is tight, the gameplay concept is so cool but it doesn’t match up with the setting of this game, it’s almost a waste. The atmosphere is awesome, the sound design is really good and again- it’s a shame. The game runs like a charm too, you would only find trouble running this if you played it on one of those touch screen calculators.
Buy this game if you want a cheap scare for a little bit, but unless you’re really into it I doubt you will finish the game because it follows a cheap gimmick, that’s the biggest problem I have with SEDOMAIRI. You have to sneak behind the ghosts, the level design doesn’t help you because it’s a maze, you could use the radio but it only shows you a general direction and in some cases with the convoluted map design it will work against you. The AI doesn’t follow an obvious pattern, their view distance is larger than yours so if you’re in front of them but can’t see them, they will still spot you and trigger a hunting sequence. Here’s the gimmick, you NEED to trigger the hunting sequence to reliably eliminate the “child”/ghost, you will trigger it and then run into a hiding space- that’s if you can remember where they are, then hide until they lose you, leave the hiding space and then sneak behind them and drive a nail into them (you need to find these nails which isn’t so bad but a really cheap way at motivating you to explore).

Starting to think it is impossible to find the dolls. in 35 minutes i played i was not able to find single one of them and you have to find 5 of them if i remember. take in consideration i was playing in the easiest difficulty. also the ghosts seem to go back to place where they spawned always that restricts you from exploring and trying to find dolls there.
Might give this a another try, when the frustration has worn off, but if you are looking challenge that seems nearly impossible go for it.

Anthology of Fear
The world that surrounds us is not always obvious. Sometimes the weirdest, unpredictable and unreal events have logical and very mundane explanations.
Anthology of Fear is three unique stories of such events taking place in different epochs and realities.
Take on the role of three heroes, control their actions and experience the horror of the early 20th century in the remote areas of Russia, contemporary drama taking place in an ordinary house, and unreal events between shreds of reality.
Each episode is unique gameplay with a set of different features. From the mere expulsion of the world, through hunting, to the struggle for one’s own existence.
-
Three unique stories - each of them is different locations and different from each previous style of the game.
-
Gameplay deriving solutions from the classics of the genre - do not expect simple and boring jumpscare. The mood of the game is built here by the atmosphere.
-
Psychologic horror - nothing that surrounds you must be obvious. Get deeper into the symbolism of the threads of history and get to know what really happened.
-
Exploration motivated by a story - the story will force you to explore each of the worlds of the game. Get to know all the stories and the laws that govern them.
Domestic Defense
buying it while having a totally different expectation leads to this review. You might enjoy it.
I was hoping to receive a serious home invasion horror game which is focused on self defense through various mechanics combining elements of FNAF with Welcome To the Game intruder sequences for example. I was really disappointed to find out that it is absolutely NOT like that.
It´s more of a meme/joke based environment, with no real explanation of what is going on, which is not the worst but tbh. we have so many games failing to create serious experiences and believable immersive environments that this feels like an excuse. Note that this review is based on the first impression, I do not know much but I can tell you why the game lost me in the first 15minutes… It seems the game works against its own intentions: The map is SO ridiculously large which draws the focus to running around in search for the intruder and basically anything else more than anything else, also making the camera system quite useless if you need minutes of getting to a general area when you see something/body on the screen. I dont want to play a labyrinth game with wonky mechanics if the game is advertised as “domestic defense”, I don´t wanna play annoying-jumpscare-simulator from a boy that wanders around replacing the lack of horror atmosphere (that is is lost by how the game delivers the gameplay) with loud in-your-face-screams…

This game seriously gave me goose bumps and chills! It’s very reminiscent of grandma and grandpa but I really enjoy this experience. The controls are not bad but different and that makes things interesting as well! The game play was fun, the horror is there, achievements on steam, totally awesome!

Solicitude Wake-up
Pretty dam scary, only few issues that I had so far:
-Monsters sometimes camp in front of the door and never leave
-Can no longer grab items(might be an index issue)
-sometimes the shelfs dont open right away (possibly index)
-sometimes lose all the batteries (not sure what causing this)
The above can all be fixed by restarting the game.
Honestly good for the price I got it for and with some improvements I can see this being replayable

Solicitude Wake-up is a VR Horror Survival game. Basically, you’ll be walking through very dark corridors, looking for batteries and keycards, while monsters roam around the hallways. You’ll have to navigate through the darkness with your handy flashlight, which needs constant battery recharges. Yeah, it’s that kind of horror game.
The darkness hides the pretty bad visual quality of this game, with the poor muddy textures, uninspired level design, and bland 3D models and animations. It is almost impossible to see without the flashlight and it’s also difficult to see with it. You will at times be able to hear monsters as they roam outside the door of your current room. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much the highlight of the game.

Son.Light.Sleepwalker
This game is something else, in a great/scary way. I was surprised to be presented with full voice acting throughout the game. I was expecting it to be another fnaf clone but this is far from anything that fnaf has shown us. I have noticed very few bugs even though it is still in early access, so that is something you should expect.
I will now go through the pros and cons of this game…
PROS
*Full voice acting
*Engaging storyline
*Great jumpscares
*ONLY 2 DOLLARS!!
*Fantastic Lighting
CONS
*The only con for this game would be that you dont own it yet!! ;)
