古代人生 Ancient Life
This is a charming ancient life sim game.
While the controls and concept can be a bit difficult to master, once you get the hang of the game this is an absolute delight. For those that like dynasty games like cursader kings-why on earth is this not a cateogry of games on steam?-will be happy to know this game follows that concept of a dynasty rpg with an even closer lence than in crusader kings. There are many life paths for characters to experience and many mini-games to play to advance along these life paths. The majority are a lot of fun and give a nice taste of the ancient life.

it is fun to play but I don’t recommend
too difficult to earn income
1). sell crickets: this is best way to earn income so far
2). crickets tournament:
only won provincial match once
… even your opponent’s bugs were weaker than yours but you still lost the game - make no sense to me
3). Special products: once your honor value reach each threshold (100, 200, 300), you will unlock different special product (max 3 kinds per city) … and here is a bug.
you can buy the highest rank special product, but you won’t have earn any income once you sell it ..

This is a very moving visual novel that does an excellent job of creating small vignettes, introducing the player to many characters. I really felt how they emphasized the weight of a human life, how much was lost in this horrible attack. It’s very short; I recommend you spend half an hour to play.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War™ / Soldats Inconnus : Mémoires de la Grande Guerre™
One of the best all around adventure story games released in the last few years. A mix of a beautifully composed musical score, stellar artwork, great story, impressive puzzles, and real life historical content. This game actually made me think about the collectibles and ponder the historical facts as much as I did the story at times.
Set during World War I (The Great War), Valiant Hearts gives you a look at individuals in war and how this particular group of individuals finds themselves connected. A German man married to a French woman who is forced to go back to Germany and fight. His father-in-law forced to fight for France. An American who befriends the Frenchman. A female doctor that finds herself crossing paths with all of them. Then there is Walt, the war dog, who becomes their ally, friend, and savior at times. While they all may battle for different reasons, countries, or leaders, they all care for one another. They all find ways to help one another overcome struggles, support one another in troubles, and connect to one another as humans rather than enemies.

It seems only natural that since we are in the midst of the centennial anniversary of the war that was to end all wars, a game should be released. In the gaming world, it seems that almost every war has been covered. Sadly, little to no recognition has been given to the war that launched the world into the modern age and changed how we live today. Valiant Hearts proves to be one of the first games to give a great picture of the struggles of World War I as well as a satisfying gaming experience.
In Valiant Hearts, we follow the stories of five heroes: Emile, a Frenchman; Hans, Emile’s son-in-law who is deported from France because of his German origins; Freddie, an American who volunteers and fights alongside the French in his quest for revenge; Anna, a nurse searching for her father in Belgium; and Walt, a German first aid dog that comes across the path of each of these heroes and helps any way he can. While it may seem highly coincidential how these five individuals continually come across each other’s paths, their backgrounds and motivations are very believable. The friendships that they build are genuine and felt by the players, without dialogue. Most conversations in this game are done by comic book bubbles and short distinct phrases that are spoken by the characters.

I was hooked from the start. Never have I ever had such a delightful experience reading interactive fiction, and I feel more open to trying similar games in the future. Sebastian, with his heart of gold and noble soul, stole my heart. The writing is so good. My only complaint is that I don’t feel there was enough build-up in Amaryllis' and Lou’s routes, they didn’t draw my attention to start with haha I’m happy I got to share sweet moments with Sebastian. He’s my definition of husband-material ❤

Brain Sanguo
The game looks like a combination of Chinese chess pieces and a map made of very simple graphics. This does have an English translation but it is hard to understand and has many grammatical mistakes. Even when you can read Chinese this is hard to get into. The tutorial didnt help much. It simply gave me an idea of what the main menu points are but it wasnt enough to figure out what to do. There are many options of things to do in the game, mostly text based menus, but it was really hard to tell what your goal was. Should you attack the other cities? Or defend against the bandits? There was no clear indication to what you should do and there was no story either. I tried to attack some bandits but the fighting system was really hard to understand too. I could select some units and attack but I didnt really see who was who or what I was attacking. After clicking attack it just said Defeated. No graphics show anyone fighting. The chance is really high that you will be disappointed when you buy this.

Doesn’t work. Game runs, but tutorial stops after one screen, no way to continue. Every command on the command screen leads to the same exact set of options. NOT JUST A NON-FINISHED PRODUCT, IT’S A NON-STARTED PRODUCT.

The Craft of the Samurai
This is a story and not a game, as it says more or less on the tin, so to speak. It is worth your time, you can read it at your own pace. It doesn’t have filler or pointless choices like some games have. The art work is excellent. Nice music. If you enjoy short stories and anything samurai, at this price you have nothing to lose. It took me just over an hour to finish it. I hope the Dev plans on making more stories of the same story quality and using the same artist.

Short and Sweet.
I appreciate the developer providing exactly what to expect with the visual novel, and that it was reasonably priced. I only heard about this game through some indie game YouTube channels, so I’m glad there’s some exposure to this for what may get lost in the shuffle of the many games appearing on Steam daily.
The overall presentation was good. The art, sound effects and most of the music complimented the short story well and fits the homages being paid here. I only wish there was even more art to fit the narrative, but I’d expect it to be a limitation.

Dark and Bright
In Dark and Bright you play Gourchweasel and his friends and you help them to find out more about that weird world they’re travelling through. The game combines some RPG elements with arcade or puzzle elements, but all in all it is a story-driven game with a focus on what’s happening to the four friends in that abstract world.
And that’s what I like about the game the most - the story is good! Really. I enjoyed it a lot, also a lot more than in some other, bigger and well-known RPGs. The game does a great job in telling the player the right amount of information (or only vague hints in the beginning) so that I was always interested in how the story continues. It all starts with a mysterious cutscene about two unknown characters at a bonfire - then we’re following Grouchweasel on his journey. And that journey is weird, confusing, but interesting and also thrilling at the same time. There are many things that made me enjoy it so much - things happening again with small changes to the dialogues, the memories becoming more and more intense as you progress, mysterious characters who sometimes totally confuse you, the whole tone to everything with these simple but weird graphics which fit well to the overall atmosphere. I can’t write more about that without spoilers. Maybe this story will also make you think a little bit about your own life, which I find amazing. So, if you’re a fan of good stories in RPGs - this might be the right game for you!

This is a good game, I enjoy it very much! This game has just a tone to it that makes it feel intense in a way, like you’re playing something funny and weird in the beginning, but you’re well advised to prepare for something big to come. I was thrilled to experience there actually seems to be a deeper meaning behind many of the things that happen. So, after revealing the first memories in the game, I was totally into the story and I’m excited for the outcome of everything, and the fates of the lovely written characters. Totally recommend!

Attentat 1942
I am certainly partial to games that tell a story. However, games that pass down important and historical information are even better. A game that can entertain and teach possesses a special power. Not only can the game effectively deliver important information that the player is more likely to retain than they would sitting in a history class, but it also engages them in such a way that the information becomes relevant and memorable. I know I’ll never forget how my hands sweat when the gestapo knocked on the door and I had to quickly find a way to nervously delay them. I was impressed with the mechanics during that mini game, and I think that games like this should be made available, and perhaps even replace, outdated teaching techniques in school.

Attentat 1942 is a FMV game, where you want to know, what happened with your father and mother in Prague at the Second World War.
What I really liked in the game, is how it looks. Now, the videos has all right quality, however the older cutscenes are made with comic styled, but more like newspaper version of that, and those cutscenes looked amazing. Everything is understandable from them and looked really nice.
About the story, I liked it really much. Reminds me of older stories from the same time, which I heard from my grandparents. It showed the war from a different perspective, which is not cover in history books or in TV properly. Most of the choices you can do in the game makes sense and bring the story forward. Characters have their motives and own story is really nice, however I need to mention, that these stories happened and that gives a whole new depth to it.

This is an Exploration/indie/Visual Novel/Oral History game about a teenager growing up in Belgium during WWII.
This is a personal story. The devs grandmother is who is telling it and voices herself. You see the farm she was raised on.
