Casina: The Forgotten Comedy
An interesting take on classic play, that needs just a tad polishing
Casina….well not gonna lie, it was a pretty unique experience for me since I have almost no idea about classic play. So, by the time I finished the visual novels (which surprisingly hooked me in) I was kinda curious so I looked for the original Casina play. I was like “aaah so this is what they’re adapting” and I like how they tried to keep it as close to the original play as possible.
Now about the game

Casina: The Forgotten Comedy is a modern iteration of the ancient Latin play set in Greece with the same name “Casina”. I have a little background with theatre and plays and was excited to enjoy the story and the art together in a different way! Fully voice acted with accompanying art and scenes to set the stage of a highly desirable slave and all the men who wish to have her to themselves.
Even before playing the game, I could tell the art of the game was going to be easy on the eyes. The art for the game is well done and I enjoyed the consistency across the entire game. Some of the backgrounds aren’t as finely detailed or manicured but were still appealing and enjoyable throughout. I like the idea of having choices in a visual novel and multiple endings, it makes it feel like your choices may have bearing on the outcomes which makes for a more focused patron of the story. Others have said they don’t care for the voice acting, and while it is not the best of the best and some of the ranges of character seem limited, I still found them to be very well done in craft and style. The voices felt like they were fit for the characters they were voicing, which I feel like is the key to voice over acting like this.

Rock of Ages
Rock of Ages is a charming, humorous, and highly original game.
The basic premise is this: you control a boulder rolling across a twisted battlefield of ramps, obstacles, and enemy traps. Your aim is to destroy your opponent’s gate.
As you destroy your opponent’s defenses, you accumulate money to spend on building upgrades. These upgrades can be either single-use power-ups for your boulder to make it stronger or more deadly. Or, you can spend the money on defenses like elephants, dynamite, and catapults that can knock your opponent’s boulder off the map. You get to place these obstacles wherever you want on the map.

Rock of ages is a game about rolling down a hill; to squish a little man, literally.
In Rock of Ages, there is a very minor story, hardly relating to the game. This isnt a bad thing because the game doesn’t need a story to be enjoyed, however the story is humorous.
The core gameplay aspect of Rock of Ages is rolling your rock down a slope riddled with defences in order to smash down an enemy gate. The opponents, are not only people from history, also attack your gate and the player must build their own defences in order to slow down or stop the other rock. You gain in game gold in order to pay for defences, and to upgrade your rock.

Astrologaster
Let us consult the stars.
Astrologaster was one of those games that I almost passed up on. I don’t remember exactly when I first came across Astrologaster, but it didn’t click with me at first. I was just sleepily browsing the upcoming games section around midnight, as you do, and it popped up. Finding the name interesting, I clicked, looked at the screenshots, and thought “hmm, I don’t know”. I saw it a couple more times, but when it got closer to the release date I finally watched the trailer. Why I didn’t watch it before, I can only blame it on being way too tired that night. With the combination of finding the trailer and the real life element behind Astrologaster intriguing, as well as peeking at a gameplay video, I thought “Hey, why not take the chance?”. Spoiler alert, I’m glad that I did.

Rock of Ages 2: Bigger & Boulder™
Have you ever found yourself playing bowling and thought to yourself: “gosh, this is fun and all, but what if my goal was to avoid the pins instead of knocking them over, and the pins were placed by my enemies for some reason”. Well, do I have the perfect game for you! Rock of Ages 2 is a game where you play as a famous character from history, commanding your mighty boulders to smash down your opponent’s front door and crush him with your turgid rock. If Monty Python, bowling and a real-time strategy had a threesome and made a baby, Rock of Ages 1 would be the result, while Rock of Ages 2 is more of the same, just more of it and more balanced.

My review after the first playthorugh on Normal difficulty:
I’m a huge fan of this idea and loved the first game!
But this game feels quite different compared to the first one, but not in a bad way.
Here is why!
1st: You are way faster!
This means that corners are really annoying and in most maps best chokepoint to bring your enemy to a hold.
But it also means that avoiding obstacle of your opponment often is a bad choice.
Simply because you gain so much speed in such a few seconds that it doesn’t matter that you crush through 2-4 layers of walls before. Also it is more beneficial to destroy the obstacle for your further runs, so just ram through nearly everything in your path(exept animals, they will stop you)

‘Member the Alamo? VR EDITION
This game is smack yo mamma good. I haven’t laughed this hard at a video game since, well ever. The action portion of the game is also really intense with more enemies in VR than any other VR game I’ve played. If you want to play a game that reminds you of the simpler times when games only cared about being fun, this is the game for you.

Ok… So after a nonsense introduction that makes no sense whatsoever, I have a guy squatting and asking me to gt on his back, except, there is no way to do that. And no tutorial offering help. Tried every button on every controller. Nothing.
Refunded.

‘Member the Alamo?
I was completely lost and was thinking of ending it all. The only thing keeping me going was ‘Member the Alamo? I didn’t have VR because I don’t like diddling myself to anime girls, but I knew I had to play this game. Finally the game came out in non VR.
I boot it up.
And something incredible happened.
I laughed again.
When was the last time I laughed let alone even smiled?
i can’t remember.
What I do remember, or should I say member, is the day that joy came back in to my life with ‘Member the Alamo?

Lancelot’s Hangover: The Quest for the Holy Booze
This game is a barrel bursting with absolute nonsense. And this is why it’s terrific.
The art style is simplistic but serves the humour very well, the puzzles aren’t hard, until the last chapter where it’s more of a “How much do you remember of the game you’ve played and the locations you’ve visited” luckily the game cuts off branches you don’t need to revisit so it doesn’t become annoying.
It’s a laugh and a half and definitely worth a look.

Do you have a sense for black humor? Then you have to play Lancelot’s Hangover. That seems familiar to me… anyway I would say even if you don’t have a sense for black humor you have to play it because it’s a great sexy adventure game. Everything is alright. I can’t complain. It reminded me a bit of my childhood when I was in the monastery and in the church. At that time there were unfortunately no naked women in the monastery. It also reminds me of Marilyn Manson when he says: I don’t like the drugs but the drugs like me. Lancelot should sing that, the sexy knight with beer (I recommend the Bavarian beer).

Ruffy and the Riverside
Ruffy and the Riverside
Join Ruffy and his buddy Snokko in this open world action adventure and safe the Riverside Kingdom!
The Riverside Kingdom is home of Ruffy and his buddies. It´s a magic place of fantasy and peace - but things changed when a strange object appeared near the castle. By evil force the seven holy rivers werde destroyed.
No way Ruffy is going to accept that!!!
So go and do something about it! Explore the world, enter dungeons, solve quests and riddles and build your team to strike back! Use your strenght, use your imagination and above all: Use your awesome talent - The Swapping!
Unique Gameplay
First of all: Yes, Ruffy can do what every hero is supposed to do, he can run, jump, climb and fight. He can drive vehicles, plays basketball and he throws his bee like a mayor league fastball. He is a powerhouse, and yes, of course: he can talk too.
But folks, the best is yet to come: Ruffy swapps materials!
Swapping? Well, it’s basically copy&paste! Want to cross a river? Just copy that ice nearby and paste it on the river - Whoops! - it turns to ice and you walk over. Easy. Want to get on top of that waterfall? Maybe there is a tendril nearby? Ruffy can change it all! The sun can be a moon, day turns into night. A rock can be a truck - lets go for a drive. Use your imagination and give it all a try. You’ will make your way!
Swapping feels magic, it’s easy and it looks supercool. It makes the world the way only you can see it!
Open world action
Riverside is an open world ready to be explored. Unlock new areas, master Dungeons, solve quests, talk to townspeople, drive vehicles, jump, run, crash and climb - what ever it takes.
Most of all: This world can change and it’s you who does the trick. Just swap it baby!
Artstyle
It’s all handpainted. Yes really - on paper. Not those photoshop or ipad drawings. This is real, pen on paper and then put into the game.
Wow - you can feel it: we are BIT proud of that. It´s just unique. Take a look.
What else? Well not much. Except when you change the whole world - those graphics are all handpainted too ;)
Friends and Company
Every child knows it’s dangerous to go alone. So you just shouldn´t, right? But HEY LISTEN, here it comes: You got some company. It’s only a bee, but it’s yours and you can throw it. Smash away enemies, crash boxes and more. Swapping? Yes - use your bee for swapping too. Very handy when that lava is just too hot to pick it up yourself (or if you are just too lazy to walk there).
Then there is your homie Snokko. He´s a hell of a buddy and always helps you out. There is advice and training, but there is also basketball and Snokko is pro on the court. Sounds pretty helpful when facing an invasion, right?
What more? Well, explore the world and see. You’ll meet those animals, creatures and ghosts on your way. No spoilers here.
Build your army, build your base!
Stopping an invasion never was a job for just a bear and a bee, so you need an army. SPOILER: You wont get one. But you can build up your Bear Force. Rescue bears, recruit them, equip them and see how much support they can give. Never give up and just bring it all to your base camp.
Vehicles
Why walk when you can drive? Simply hop in and off you go. Some might look ancient, some from the future, some fly some, some swim, some drive.
Go out find them and don´t forget to drop them in your base camp. Those lazy bears want some vehicles too!

Four Last Things
OVERALL: 9/10
This is a gem ! I don’t how steam did it but it finally succeeded in recommending me a true unique niche game that actually had me interested straight away. If you have a soft spot for the renaissance period this game is an experience to witness! A wonderful little world based off of many real paintings (from Bosh, Bruegel to quote a few) mixed and mashed together in an incredible way ! It’s gorgeous and the music is also top notch suiting every scene. The game is a clever no nonsense point click with a great sense of humor and self awareness. It even remembers me the tone of the monty python’s Holy grail. It sadly is way too short but as an indy project which was made by 1 man only I think, I strongly recommend you support this game if it intrigues you in anyway. And hopefully another project of this kind will emerge.

Who knew committing the seven deadly sins could be so fun!
Four Last Things is a comedic point’n’click adventure game entirely composed of renaissance paintings. In Four Last Things, you play as a man who must do all seven deadly sins over again so that he can confess and be forgiven by a specific parish. It’s an inter-church bureaucracy thing, you understand. The humour here is very similar to Monty Python, and I’d consider this a must have for Monty Python fans.
