Museum of War is a resounding achievement in world building, environment, and engaging gameplay with occasional problems throughout.

Its incredible recreation of ancient Greece is something I’ll want to go back to long after I’ve finished its main story, and its excellent systems mesh together in a way that’s hard to beat. While there are definite rough edges, Museum of War sets a new bar for slasher games and holds its own in the eternal debate over the best hack and slash games ever.

When I look back on all the fun I’ve had, all the complaints feel minor. Museum of War is beautiful, and it effortlessly ties action, stealth and hand to hand combat together into one cohesive game that, even after 0.2 hours, I want to keep playing.

SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II

SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II

Intro

Coming straight from Samurai Warriors 2, I expected nothing short of fluid and great gameplay and Koei has delivered

with Samurai Warriors 4-II. I’d always prefered the SW games compared to Dynasty Warriors or the

Warriors Orochi games which I played on the Xbox 360.

I’ll make many comparisons to Samurai Warriors 2 as that was the last SW game I played, back in 2007 and I recenly played again to get that ever so good Nostalgia feeling.

Samurai Warriors 4-II is a sequel to Samurai Warriors 4, or it’s a remake, or it’s Xtreme legends. Or…. honestly exactly what it is, isn’t clear.

The Warrior series has a long history of doing Xtreme Legends which is their “complete” edition usually allowing someone to play both the original and extra levels in one with more characters. However, there’s only one new character, Naomasa II, who is interesting, but not enough for a whole new game. There’s also no way to play the old game, there are just new stories here. It’s not a remake either, as the stories are vastly different, and the characters are the same. The game claims to focus on the characters more in the stories, but honestly, the stories feel the same style as the original game, though the original Samurai Warrior 4 has better stories (At least characters you care about more), but I found the ones in 4-II to be more interesting on some levels. At least it’s not the same story we’ve heard three times already in this series, it’s a new character that the game wants to focus on, which is a good change.

DYNASTY WARRIORS 8 Empires

DYNASTY WARRIORS 8 Empires

This review will be posted, while having DW5E in mind. Gonna be long.

DW8 Empire is first empire game that come to PC from the series.

You don’t need any of DLC to experience 100% of the game or complete 100% achievement run. Mostly, it’s just flavour.

Game outside of battle aspect got reworked entirely, You are not being considered always a ruler. You can play as Free Officer, Vagabond Unit (a party without a land), Officer under someone, their Lieutanant, Officer, Strategist or Marshal. The last two being almost as the ruler themselfs, but with the option of rebel/betrayal. To win the game, You don’t have to be a ruler, all You have to do, is to be inside the winning force. I lost only once so it’s hard to say if there’s even Game Over screen.

OMG still in shock with the release of empires on PC. I have long heard of it, but haven’t been able to play the “Empires” of a Dynasty Warriors game since it usually goes out on PS3 or XBox. And here it is, right on my doorstep, on steam. What better way than to test it out.

This review should be unbiased (Sort of), as I have been a dynasty warriors player of Dynasty Warriors 3, 4, 6 (5 skipped due to not being on PC), 7, and 8. I have experienced all the 1 vs 10000 army battles, while slaying down all that stands in my path (including gathering the courage to stand against the mighty Lu Bu, though mostly getting my blade handed back to me 10 times fold).

STORY

Good. Is well written and very immersive. I always wanted to know what is going to happen next. I don’t know if is historically accurate but it feels so. There is at least three ways to beat up the game: gaining wealth as trader, gaining support of a powerful ally or impose the Danish law (kill, burn and pillage) which gives you replayability. The only fantastic thing is the game so you won’t fight against orcs or elves and you won’t use magic missiles and fireballs. Your choices matter and will greatly influence the way you will walk the story, the factions attitude toward you and if some joinable characters will leave or not the party.

This is probably my favorite game of all times, and I’ll definitly be honest and say I have a bias towards Vikings and the setting, that’s not why it is my favorite game of all time(though it’s a great bonus, no question!). I’ll split things into sections to make it easier to read:

Map\Travel\Exploration

The game is an isometric turnbased RPG, you travel between locations on a world map, and in\on the locations you have a local area to run around in, Like in Fallout, Wasteland, etc. Unlike Fallout there are no random encounters, but instead random events(often bad, but sometimes good), where you are given some sort of decision to handle(when sailing it could be a companion falling off the boat, or a storm closing in etc, dependant on your ship and resources depends on the effects that’ll happen and what decisions are avalible).

ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS XIII

ROMANCE OF THE THREE KINGDOMS XIII

There are two reasons you should buy this game. Either:

1. You’re a hard-core RTK fan, capable of self-immersion and self-imposed limitations to add challenge.

2. You’re keen on the role-playing aspects of the game and are comfortable not necessarily playing it like a grand strategy game.

Anyhow, onto the finer details.

No incarnation of RTK has ever been perfect, dating all the way back to my first experience with RTK1 on the NES, and this one is no exception. This one, however, seems to ignore a lot of the lessons learned from previous failures while introducing a whole host of others that make no goddamn sense.

When I first got the game quite a while ago, the bugs such as the crashing and whatnot that everyone has talked about already were definitely present. For example, the Zhao Yun Side Story tutorial mode for Hero Mode more or less crashed everytime I tried to get past some of the objectives. However, now I have no problems with the game in terms of bugs. In my view, the technical issues that plagued the game at launch are pretty much gone. However, from the reviews on here, it seems that some players are still experiencing those same bugs.

Really great game, I am having lots of fun with it, would highly recommend!

Real player with 4.9 hrs in game

The game is absolutely terrible. The controls are sluggish and you will get your tail feathers handed to you about 99% of the time. There is no time to even try to aim your lance. Shield or Head I can’t see to aim for them. You just put your lance over the line and pray you either break your lance or do some serious damage to your opponent. The balance mini-game is an absolute joke. It is totally unresponsive. I hit right as soon as the dot appears, and it shoots straight to the left and throws me. The Rock Paper Scissors mechanic of Barding, Shield, Lance, and Armor need to be explained better than “Oh, just play around with it.” All these elements make for a frustrating and unpleasant experience. I do not mind a challenge. I do mind a skill-based game leaving it up to lady luck to make the final judgement. This game has so much potential but in its current state I do not recommend it.

Blazing Sails

Blazing Sails

Early acces? It’s already insanely playable, nothing seems to be really missing and no huge bugs.

It’s a 4man team battle royale, it seems to take a lot of inspiration if not downright most of it’s stuff from sea of thieves.

The rounds are 5 - 20 minutes, divided in mostly 2 parts:

Looting and fighting.

during the looting fase you might run into other people on land, so combat ensues.

When sailing to the next island you might run into another ship, ship to ship combat ensues.

The safe area, as with every BR gets smaller and smaller, forcing ships closer and closer, these fights can turn very hectic very quickly.

Behind the Horizon

Behind the Horizon

I’ve been enjoying this game a lot. It has quests, farming, animals, magic, crafting etc. You get to explore a pretty big world and meet the villagers. The scenery is very pretty and it has seasons. It is a very unique game. The developer has answered questions, taken in feedback and suggestions and fixed bugs rather quickly. I am very satisfied with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone.

Real player with 226.1 hrs in game

This is a great game.. The developer is VERY responsive and open to new ideas. and they any fix issues quickly.

Its a farming game BUT don’t expect Stardew Valley, although it has a somewhat similar loop. IE farming, explore ect, although with a “Nature” theme..

Progression can be slow at times, but blossoms after chapter 1..

Make sure you read the help F1 as it explains your tools. Use the MAP.. to keep track of possible resources.

大江湖之苍龙与白鸟

大江湖之苍龙与白鸟

The 11th year of Shaoxing in Southern Song Dynasty (1141 AD)

The Song and Jurchen-led Jin Dynasties were divided by the Huai River. The north of the river belonged to Jin and the south belonged to Song.

Song ceded many of its prefectures to Jin and paid tribute annually.

With even its emperor announced by Jin, Song became a client state.

Now, ten years has passed. Despite the seemingly peaceful relations between Song and Jin, there have long been turbulent undercurrents in the world of Kung fu.

The martial arts world is full of chaos, with numerous heroes standing out. Among them, there are the Four Wonders overshadowing all the others, named ‘East Shu’, ‘West Bo’, ‘North Gu’ and ‘South Po’…

[Classic pixel-art RPG for Chinese Martial Arts]

This is an SFC/MD-styled-pixel-art game. In-game scenes were inspired by Song Dynasty’s ink painting style, this game depicts an original traditional Chinese martial arts story, which takes you back to 1990s, the golden years of classic RPG games.

[High level of freedom for exploration]

With reference to the real ancient river terrain, we designed a huge map containing Jingzhou, Xiaoxiang, Bashu, Jiangdong and the central plains. Countless sects scattered amoung the map, with ancient towns and labyrinths. There is no fixed route. Go wherever you want and explore the world at your own pace.

[Multiple story plots, routes and teammates to meet and experience]

Experience stories with over 10 thousand words in text. Meet with different people along the journey; prodigals, talents, officers or bandits. You can choose to enjoy and relax in this world with friends, or work hard to gain the ultimate power. Choices are up to you.

[Many sects for martial arts cultivation]

There will be Sects to enter and hundreds of scriptures to learn. Sword, broadsword, staff, fist, palm, finger, dagger, musical instrument… Each Sect would have its own strengths.

Different attributes may end up in forming completely different KungFu sets, withover a dozen martial arts routes for you to develop.
