Abyss: The Wraiths of Eden
This time, the protagonist has to locate and retrieve her lost partner, who is employed in an underwater city, called Eden, made by mankind. Some sort of strange happenings have occured in Eden. Up to the player to find out and piece the puzzle together.
Compared to other Artifex Mundi hidden object games, this installment focuses more on storyline. With significantly more cutscenes and NPC animations, the developers really made an effort to immerse the player.
Overall, the locations are colorful and rather busy & a bit overwhelming, with more than enough backtracking between them. The elevator used to reach the 3 different niveaus, has a animation which can’t be skipped and gets very tedious towards the end of the game. Especially when you complete the game twice or more, which is needed to complete all achievements.

This is one of Artifex Mundi’s mid-tier games. It’s got a tight story, with a variety of characters, featuring a woman with a unique skill set (scuba diving and adventuring related skills like knowledge of machinery), saving her fiance? boyfriend? from certain doom. With a Lovecraftian threat in the form of wraiths and a Cthulhuoid deity, a good mix of beautiful art and horrific gross art, and a tight storyline, this game offers both hidden object puzzles, regular puzzles, and domino puzzles for people who want to skip the hidden object sections.

Can’t play till to end, can’t open the chest with crap in lvl 56 or 58 and got key before whatever i try it don’t work.
I “walked” with the crab around the full chest, it didn’t open.
This stupid octupus stole the pearl, why the hell poseidon don’t help, it could be just so easy…
The game is not complete typical match 3 game.
Sometimes you need to lead the crab to the cheat to open it.
The game has strategic aspects which makes the game interesting.
No grafic resolution options and it’s good.

Azkend 2: The World Beneath
It’s not bad; there are many different power-ups that create some variety and strategy in the typical Match 3 game-play loop, so it’s not an awful chore to play.
Ultimately however, RNG plays far too much of a role in success or failure, and while the main game is eventually beatable (after many tries) the coin challenges eventually become all but impossible. If you’re trying for 100% achievement completion, good luck, because as far as I can tell that’s the only way to attain several of them.

Azkend 2 is a causal match 3 -game. The artwork is top notch and the music is alright.
There is a clumsy attempt at a plot, but in the end this whole “spirit of adventure” thing is just a theme that works well with beautiful images. You don’t get an “engaging storyline”. The woman person just ends up shipwrecked and goes to places that don’t make any sense. And the voice acting is kind of annoying.
The story mode constists of 68 levels. There are some nice special pieces and whatnot, but nothing spectacular. Nothing I wouldn’t have seen before. The gameplay gets a little repetitve at the end and sadly the levels are all quite easy. There’s also a time challenge mode, but after I was done with the storymode I thought there wasn’t much replay value.

This is a really cool survival game and is really challenging. Early development and developer is active. Game is a great purchase, I picked it up for $4.99 how can you go wrong.
–———————- UPDATE November 2021 ————————
OK my above review I hold true to and I like the game but some time has passed, there hasn’t been an update of a pep from the developer, it appears this game is abandoned but who knows.
I will say there has been a few updates last year 2020 but until you see some progress with this game I would not suggest purchasing it.

If You read the reviews, PLEASE, make a control configuration option! I’m playing on PC, and I have to twist my hand using the standart WASD keys.

Would maybe an ok games for achievement hunters, because the only thing you do, is making photos of specific objects in the random generated, but boring, landscape. The problem, the price is to high and one, maybe two, achievements are broken.

TARAKAN - Mystery Point & Click Adventure
Sorry to say I was disappointed with this game.
If you’re seriously into math you may love it.
I prefer the type of escape room where you find clues and solve problems.
This game turned into all numbers with no clues at all.
You either know the math required or, like me, you’re out.

This is a very short puzzle game, I took 4 hours but a chunk of that was me leaving the game running whilst I went off for a coffee or some other task. The graphics are basic 2D, the navigation point and click and the game is simplicity itself, find something that needs unlocking and then find a key or code. The puzzles vary from solutions staring you in the face to having to get a pen and paper out and do some calculations. It isn’t very strenuous but does provide for a diverting few hours. Is it worth the price? Just about. I suspect this style of game works better on the Android platform.
