The Mystery of a Lost Planet
It’s not a long game but for the price it’s a nice little hidden object/point and click game. Not much to the plot, you’re on a planet looking around basically, the game is more the visuals and audio which was nicely done.
The achievments are pretty simple to get, certain things you’re required to do so give them a read first.
I enjoyed the hidden object elements to the game and the puzzles which had to be solved. Some were a little tricky to get at first but once you know what you’ve got to do, they’re simple to complete. My favourite puzzle was the password one, I thought that was quite clever.

Storyline: A five person space craft (the gamer being the fifth crew member) is pulled to a planet by some unexplained gravitional force and the excellent pilot manages to do a controlled crash landing where the ship does not break into pieces and everyone survives. Give that man a bonus! A huge bonus! Now time to do damage control, figure out what happened by exploring the surroundings and if possible get off the planet again.
Gameplay: Runs in a linear fashion and once an area is completed it is “closed” off and can not be returned to. What is different about this game is there are two teams. Half way through the game when the first team finishes their objective the gamer switches to the second team. There is a point and click element to this game mostly in the gathering of inventory items to use for a specific task. Yes, screwdrivers and hammers are needed and can actually be found. And there are game comments concerning the use of other equally capable objects which basically state a better object is needed.

Time Trap - Hidden Objects Puzzle Game
very creepy vibe throughout game which is brought about by the advancing story such as is through notes and the music. The game is not long as I completed it in a little over an hour and a half but you can go back or as you go along in the story to get stars (up to three per scene} for achievements as well as completing each scene in under two minutes. When you get a three star you probably beat the two minute speed setting. this extended my play another four hours. While the object placement in scene repeats don’t change it was still fun to work the short term memory muscle. Purchased game at a 20% discount through a packaged sale but I say it’s worth the full price.

Time Trap is one of those games that I enjoy but have a hard time putting my finger on exactly why. The presentation has a lot to be desired, and the writing could certainly use some polishing up by an English speaking proof reader. But the story isn’t why I’m here. Despite the abundance of HOPAs on Steam, there’s a dearth of pure hidden object games on the platform. And sometimes I just want to load up a game and shut my brain down while I search for objects on my screen.
And search for objects I did. Actually, if you’re working towards 100%-ing the game, you’ll be playing each scene over and over until you’ve successfully collected all of the items and scored 3 stars. While this admittedly can be a bit of a grind, I found it quite enjoyable. Learning all of the objects' placements and quickly picking them out was satisfying in a way that’s hard to describe. Using the HINT button for those particularly difficult to find items doesn’t feel like much of a penalty either, but it’s actually nice to have a HOG that doesn’t enforce no-hint playthroughs for achievements. For those looking for even more challenge, there are leader boards for each HOS. This was something I wasn’t particularly interested in myself, but it adds replay for those who are so inclined.

Space Legends: At the Edge of the Universe
Space Legends is a decent hidden object/point & click game. You are in control of Elizabeth, who is trying to save the one she loves. You move around to several locations in a big effort to get back home.
The story is lacking in depth and background but…really isn’t that bad. I was still driven by the story to continue on and find out what happens.
The puzzles are good and varying in difficulty. Although the lack of direction and understanding some puzzles caused a little frustration.
The hidden object scenes were great and I always looked forward to them. The hidden object(s) may require several steps before you can collect them (obstructed, not complete, out of reach, etc). However, there weren’t enough of them! For the handful of scenes they had, they were used more than once in each location.

I was excited to take a look at Space Legends - Edge of the Universe because it seemed to be that rarest gem among the HOG genre - a hidden object adventure set in an outright sci-fi millieu. With most HOGs leaning towards supernatural horror, crime-solving, or some kind of fantasy/faery nonsense, Space Legends seemed like it would be a breath of fresh air. Little did I realize how quickly things would take a turn for the bizarre and inept.
The game starts off promisingly enough, establishing the main character as part of a two-person research team investigating a far-away planet. After a storm severly damages the station, the base, it’s up to the main character to stabilize her love interest’s injuries, gather their data, and fly back to Earth for medical assistance. This section is fairly solid - a logical threat bearing down on the player in an interesting and novel setting. Then the player blasts off and crash lands on a medieval planet, and everything goes straight to hell.

Family Mysteries 2: Echoes of Tomorrow
The voice actor playing our hero is terrible. He sounded as though he might actually be a janitor from Germany who was working at the Artifex offices when the original voice actor quit in disgust over the obvious theft of the Terminator storyline for this game. So Artifex frantically searched for someone to fill in for him and they wound up begging Hans the Janitor to do the voice of the inventor turned foolish lover turned emotionless wreck who gets arrested or locked up easily 35 times in this game. Terrible choice. At one point, his wife is put into a trance where her face is covered in lines and our hero screams, “Tina, no!” but it comes out as, “Teeenerrrrr norrrrrrrwwwwrrrrrr.” It was so incredibly godawful. I was ashamed and embarrassed for Hans. He was totally out of his element. He should have been at home with a blanket over his legs and a stein in his hands instead of pretending to play a much younger inventor of A.I. watches.

This was an entertaining game, with an unusual sci-fi flavour. While still a bit more linear than I’d like for a premium game, I enjoyed the HO scenes, which were an interesting and often challenging blend of sci-fi (or electronic) and regular objects.
Pros:
-
the art and music is consistently good and suits the theme very well
-
the story isn’t especially novel, but it’s generally well-executed
-
the main character was interesting, and you can get his comments on various items and animals in the game (he has a quirky sense of humour at times)

For me this game is more promising than other reviewers have found it. I’m not usually crazy about too much story line (too much for my taste in Crysis for eg) but with my favourite shooters going down the campaigns as thinly disguised survival scene after survival scene, where you face ever increasing and ultimately, pointless hordes of enemies to disguise a lack of imagination (think Doom Eternal - Ancient Gods, Serious Sam 4) this game strikes a nice balance for me. Sure there’s bugs, but there’s popular well established games out there with bugs that have never been ironed out. Happy to give this one a chance.

Palindrome Syndrome: Escape Room
Palindrome Syndrome is an “escape room” style game somewhat like the Room series. Unlike some games of this type, where there can be a lot of concurrent puzzles to solve and backtracking to various other parts of the game with puzzle pieces obtained by solving other puzzles, Palindrome Syndrome is fairly linear; each section has a set number of puzzles that are related to each other, you solve them, progress to the next section, and never have to revisit the previous section again.
I found the puzzles to be pretty challenging; some had written clues in the form of message logs relating to them, but the majority of them require you to observe your surroundings and intuit what exactly needs to be done. I was able to figure out almost all of them, although there were a couple of those puzzles with a series of switches where each one makes the other switches move in a certain way and the goal is to get them all set to the “on” position at the same time where I just clicked a bit randomly until it worked. I didn’t have to brute force anything else. This is good because this game does not have any kind of “hint” system like similar games.

Unfortunately, my computer was unable to handle the level “rescue her sister,” but the rest of the game was a tour-de-force. In the game, I can both run, and shoot a gun. Pressing the left mouse button shoots a gun, and C allows to crouch in one place. The game has very beautiful graphics, and it was enjoyable to see. I received many meaningful steam achievements. I recommend this game.

Machinika Museum
A sci-fi adventure that scratches the Myst itch, if only for a short time.
Inspired by the classic game Myst, Littlefield Studio’s attention to detail keeps this short game grounded yet engaging. The puzzles are enjoyable, and the well-crafted narrative builds towards a solid mystery that never feels rushed or out of place. Although Machinika Museum offers a brief experience, it is a satisfying and reasonably-priced one.
Game Universe
The game is set in the future, and the player takes on the role of a researcher in a museum. The narrative takes place during one shift of work and unfolds over seven chapters. The researcher has received a shipment of alien technology to investigate from the field, and each chapter basically consists of solving puzzles to open a container with a machine in it, and then solving puzzles to examine and get the piece of machinery working. Hopefully by the end the player is able to put all of the pieces of the machine together and solve the mystery.

I Really enjoyed this game. The puzzles are ‘basically’ given to you one at a time so you won’t be looking all over the place for this or that and that VERY ANNOYING backtracking is eliminated completely,
Thank You Developers!
The graphics are fine and render without a hitch. I found one little bug but it is SO small it isn’t even worth mentioning….I just left the game and started again and it always Remembers where you left off so you don’t have to Remember to save, etc.
The inventory and movement was a ‘little’ quirky but you will SOON be able to navigate through the game easily.

Standard quality hidden-object game from Mad Head, this time with a horror twist. However, Maze: Subject 360 was slightly better and the best HOPA on the market is still True Fear.
