Chimeras: Mortal Medicine Collector’s Edition

Chimeras: Mortal Medicine Collector’s Edition

As with all the Chimeras games, this is fun to play, smoothly running from one scene to the next. Some entertaining hidden object scenes (slightly on the easy side) and lots of actual game play in between. The story line, as you would expect, is rather silly, but who cares?! I have now played all 6 Chimera games and would recommend you buying them in the bundle, try one and see for yourself. Simply amusing, relaxing games highly recommended for whiling away a few hours.

You are a detective hired to recapture a convicted murderer. Said murderer is accused of poisoning the town’s children and killing his own daughter. But is that what happened?

HO scenes are fun, minigames challenging, and the plot engaging. Recommend in the bundle, just for ease of purchase.

I was going to click No however, this would be a good game for a preteen or teen. It is not scary and a bit juvenile.

This is the first Halloween Stories game that I have played and is overwhelmingly the absolute best ever hidden object game that I have ever played. It is the complete deal. Story line keeps you interested in the game play and the bonus chapter picks up where the main game leaves off. The interaction with characters is one that I myself have never encountered. I extremely enjoyed the added “liveliness” of some of the animations, (streets apart from anything I have seen) congrats to the entire team that are responsible for them :-) I have no problem at all recommending this game to anyone, in fact I would encourage you to buy this game. My many thanks to the entire team for an absolutely fantastic, unforgettable and pleasurable game. Thanx

Thumbs-down only due to length. It was way too short. Get it on a discount ($6 US or less).

Other than that, I thought it was a better-than-average game for the genre. Had all the usual elements. Lots of stuff to find. The mini-games weren’t just the same ones you see over and over (though a couple were way too simple). It was a little too linear for my tastes, but not too bad.

Great little game, good storyline, interactive game play was fun, puzzles were not too hard, graphics were great, game ran smoothly no glitches. Just wish there were more HOG in the game. Overall 9/10

Time Mysteries 2: The Ancient Spectres

Time Mysteries 2: The Ancient Spectres

The good:

If you like HO puzzles, there are lots of them! Also, the story is reasonably interesting, as well as being a direct lead-in to Time Mysteries 3. Switching between times and altering the past/future is fun and the mechanic is well-conceived without being over-thought (best not to, with time travel!). The music is slightly repetitive, but quite good, and the overall feel of the game is nicely atmospheric (and appropriately creepy in places).

The less good:

The puzzles are decent but have no explanations, and are occasionally… less then intuitive. I dislike spending more time figuring out what the puzzle is than I spend solving it. On the other hand, kudos for immersion, since I suppose the protagonist has to guess as she goes along as well!

This game is a poor showing from the normally superb efforts of Artifex Mundi. The stand-out worst part of this game was the puzzles. The vast majority were hidden object scenes, with only a small handful of other puzzle types sprinkled throughout. Most scenes were visited two or three times apiece during the game, leading to extreme repetition and monotony. This is compounded if you choose to play on Expert mode, which I always do in these kinds of games, as you’re forced to make a circuit of every room you’ve been to periodically to see which hidden object zone’s gone active after you’ve advanced the plot.

If you love hidden object games and are looking for something to add to your collection, I rec’d you pick this one up. I was sick of all the darker themed games in this genre and decided to give it a go. Happy I did.

its a great findy findy. you find stuff and them move on to the next level to find more stuff.

only issue and its a bit of a major is that on alot of scenes theres stuff hidden behind the ui that you cant see, you have to just click randomly on the ui untill you get it.

I have to confirm what one of the other reviewers stated that some objects are hidden behind the HUD. I thought if there was only one - I could live with that - but there were many instances where you have to random click on the areas on the HUD hoping that an object is behind it. It seems that it was designed for another game device altogether. NOT a game for the perfectionist - you’ll just get mad.

When The Past Was Around

When The Past Was Around

“I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days before you actually left them." - Andy Bernard (The Office)

I’ve played this through more than once, When The Past Was Around is a simple relaxing game that i will miss for a weeks after i finished it. Back in 2018 when i first played a Raven Monologue and Banyu Lintar Angin i wish there is little bit more longer and maybe put something like a puzzle based on point and clicks because i really enjoyed it. The art style it’s so beautiful that i really wish i can draw something like that one day and don’t forget about the soundtracks it is super chill and lovely. After i’ve heard they going to released the game that something similiar i’m super excited and now here i am, I’m not disappointed at all. it is really great, beautiful art style, amazing soundtrack and now with puzzle! I really liked the way they tell the story without any dialogue at all they just.. like.. you’d know has some meaning and you figure it out like a raven with a “rock” and now Eda with hers memories. Sure worth experiencing especially during this difficult time, this is just touch your soul.

_An emotional, thought-provoking journey about love and loss that’s shown through the memories of Eda.

Eda’s beloved, assumed to be Mr. Owl, has passed away but is revived in Eda’s reflection. Because they had woven the gameplay and story together, the recurring chords in every scene were wonderfully incorporated into the ambiance and background. Little details, such as crumbling the tombstones in chapter one, “requiem,” along with the occasional shattering of plant pots, really emphasized Eda’s underlying grievance. I found it satisfying to uncover memories and move on by completing each puzzle. To me, the puzzles represent the struggles of letting go of the past. It takes time for acceptance and the resilience to realize that the person we held dear is no longer with us._****************************
