DNA Farm
Very interesting game, the description says it all, clearly…but it runs well and feels fun! I keep saying it in these reviews, but I mean it…the price is a little too steep..this could be fun for a lot of people but…if they won’t spend 11 bucks, maybe the won’t see how good it is, anyways..just my thoughts. Not a bad game at all!

Just Take Your Left
I super wanted to give this game a positive review, but it’s not quite ready for prime time yet. Even though I ultimately felt I had to give this game a thumbs down, please still consider supporting the developer by picking it up, perhaps on sale, especially if it looks like the kind of game you might be into.
Just take your left is a very short mouse-driven game by Mehrdad Rezaei, who seems to be a solo Iranian developer. Your character is an agent of some sort who is sent to steal a diamond from a castle, but is antagonized along the way by a small mouse who is determined to stop him.

this game has nice artwork and great character animation, a lot of though has gone into how the character reacts to objects, which is great to see.
I managed to get stuck a few times but not so stuck you’d give up or start hunting down a tutorial,
A little moan is quality control and grammar but English isn’t the guys first language, and considering its the cost of a burger the character animation is so much nicer than some dearer games, no aimless wandering about and dodgy “use” animation here!

Ironseed 25th Anniversary Edition
Ah Ironseed. A hidden gem of the 90’s. I played this one 25 years ago. A 1MB file hidden among 600 others on a CD. This remake is quite faithful the the original, though the difficulty has now been notably reduced. I haven’t played enough to know if all of the old systems are here, but what I see so far has been quite impressive.
If you are tired of all the “newer” games that put graphics over gameplay, give this one a go.

A short but very cute and nice game. A bit pixel-hunty at parts.

Fate of Kai

Review by Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam.

A new good looking point and click adventure? Yea, let’s play it. But, but… this is not one.
It is something new. Something that plays completely different. It is a story that does not follow a path of time. It is a book, where you do things, get something, turn a few pages back and use the thing you just got. Kind of getting something from the future. Does it make sense? No, to be honest not for me. It does allow for some interesting puzzles, though.

Fate of Kai is a short comic book adventure where the player can pick up actions out of speech bubbles and use them in other places to see different events play out in subsequent pages. The only words in the entire game are the alterable actions, every other plot turn and twist is told through the artwork, which is very well done. The game is split into seven chapters that tells the whole story from beginning to end.

Drawngeon: Dungeons of Ink and Paper
Drawngeon is a traditional dungeon crawler, which is equivalent of a first-person roguelite with 90-degree turns. It takes anywhere from 2 to 5 hours to finish without prior knowledge, but it has some replay value through different characters and achievement hunting. Can I just say that I absolutely love the UI in this game, you can actually point&click in a first-person view and move things into your inventory, also works when you need to drop or give items to the quest giver. You could play with a controller, but I find it a little difficult, so I just played with the keyboard instead. The game has pretty nice settings, including a camera lock and key binding. For the most part it’s a very creative game with fun gameplay, although it falls apart toward the end due to poor balancing and lack of coherent progression.

Glorious solo-protagonist reincarnation of ancient “Eye Of The Beholder”, only if it was made by a non-DnD fan, in 2018. (and that’a actually how it was)
Unique drawn art style, droning ambience and atmosphere. Creepy twist in the end. No real ending, but probably the only thing that got me qualitatively scared for half a minute. Not an ARG or meta-game, but just a well-executed mind trick.
Not without its flaws, like eventual off-screen teleports or holes in the floor polygons, but maybe that will get patched out eventually. For a game made by 2 self-funded people, pretty impressive.

Loot Grind Simulator
Another “simulator”…let’s look at it!
Loot Grind Simulator is another idle/casual game with clicker aspects. Your goal is to complete quests you sign up for and get loot out of them and your ultimate goal is to get all achievements…and to reach the top stat of Unique quality items while completing all of your collections.
The scope of this project is very small and you don’t even see what your quests are. You click the quest contracts and they activate timers until they are marked completed, thus giving you randomized loot based on the level of the quest, the speed of the quest, and the expected quality of the item reward…which isn’t guaranteed. Personally, I just opted to choose random quests and autoclick various areas. You can randomize quest rewards, but you’re probably better off just taking what you get the first time as that’ll probably be much faster with less effort.

Overall a good experiment in game making for the developer. I hope to see more from them as they improve.
Pros:
Not a micro transaction in sight.
Clean UI interaction.
Cons:
Assets are common fodder.
Progression is boring and linear.
Personally I have no issue with the use of store assets, as when creating games alone, it’s better to be able to focus on the mechanics sides of things. That being said, the mechanics are too simple to generate extended interest. As I said in the beginning, I hope to see more from the developer in their future endeavors.

Dude, Where Is My Beer?
*Note that the story is unfinished. The game keeps on mentioning part 2, which is never explained whether it’s another game or an update to this game.
My playtime: 22.6h (based on Steam, 100% achievements)
Grindy Achievement(s): No.
Optional Achievement(s): Yes (~14 achievements).
Difficult Achievement(s): No (some are difficult but they should be easy once you figure out how to get them).
Intro
Have you ever try to go through several pubs just to find out that they are not selling the beer that you want? Dude, Where Is My Beer? lets you experience the suffering as you, the main character, stranded in a rest stop with a lot of varied, disgusting craft beers with no pilsner in sight.
– Real player with 22.6 hrs in game
Dude, Where Is My Beer? is an oldschool (difficult and illogical) point-and-click game. Worth playing only for masochists who adore the genre’s core mechanics, and even then it might be a tad overpriced at $15 USD.
The store page gives a basic description of the game. I’d add a few notes.
