The only True Hate I found while playing this game was for myself, after being unable to make the most simplistic jumps after dying several times to different traps. I do believe that another good name is True Pain. I tried so hard to get access to the exit, only for that to be the wrong exit. I’m a fool, I played myself. The game looks nice though and the music is very pleasant. It makes it much harder for me to genuinely get angry at myself.

Why make the colors of the enemy bullets so hard to see? This is not a good for people with vision problems. I could hardly see some of the non-red bullets.

A Crooked Heart

Good potential. While now you can only play the prologue, the mechanics are simple to grasp, and I feel like there’s good potential in this indie game for speedrunning. Will watch closely!

This game is really cool! Simple and easy to understand, you can just jump into it without any fuss. The animation is delightful and utterly spooky at times. A sweet story of love and rescue is punctuated by perfectly matching music and it appears that more content is on the way in the future. I played it a couple of times and would eagerly revisit for new content.

Curse of the Sea Rats

Curse of the Sea Rats

Curse of the Sea Rats is a ratoidvania platform adventure lovingly crafted with hand-drawn animations, which charts the epic journey of four prisoners of the British empire, turned into rats by a pirate witch. To regain their human bodies, they will have to fight dangerous bosses, explore the vast coast of Ireland, and ultimately capture the witch who cursed them.

Beautiful 2D, hand-drawn animation breath life into the game’s characters - inspired by the likes of Disney and Don Bluth and reminiscent of the golden age of 2D platforming action. These combine seamlessly with detailed 3D environments and enhanced by light and shadow to create a 2.5D platforming experience of incredible quality.

Chart your own progress through a huge, non-linear game world as you attempt to track down the pirate witch who cursed you. Shipwrecked on the coast of Ireland in the 18th Century, you’ll need more than just your swashbuckling skills to forge your path to freedom.

Whether you play alone or with up to three friends, there are four playable characters to chose from - Douglas, Buffalo, Akane, and Bussa. Each bringing their own unique fighting styles to the adventure to help you get the better of both enemies and the environment!

While each character has their own strengths and weaknesses, you’ll be able to improve their abilities as your adventure progresses - unlocking new special skills, boosting your offence and defence, or unlocking powerful magics!

A labyrinthine network of hundreds of pathways, rooms and discoveries lay before you, in a substantial quest of over 12 hours. Can your master each character’s abilities, find all of the game secrets and unlock all the multiple endings?

Many thanks to everyone who has supported us so far. We look forward to updating you on our development progress. In the meantime we would welcome any feedback in the community - and don’t forget to Wishlist if you’d like to be kept up to date on any upcoming news!

Kill Fish

Kill Fish

Kill Fish is an indie game with a linear storyline. Hero is almost dead from fatigue in the forest, but someone founds him. Next morning he wakes up in the house of the girl who saved him. As the game progresses, you collect notes with fragments of an important story for the girl. In an attempt to protect her and survive on your own, you kill monsters on the way.

I liked the keyboard controls better. If you, like me, accidentally passed the control tips at the first levels, their full list can be found in the settings menu.

I enjoyed what this game offered even if it was really short. The creatures including the bosses had nice looks to them and their mechanics were pretty cool.

I did come across 2 bugs, One was the tentacle creatures not spawning in the beginning level where you come across a well in the beginning of the game and the 2nd bug also had to do with the same creature where I believe if you kill them off screen there was a chance of the noises they make getting stuck on a loop, becoming distorted and loud. The controls were also non responsive at times which made the game annoying at parts.

Super Crush KO

Super Crush KO

It has been said that first impressions are very important. I bought Super Crush KO because it made a great one, and in fact, it does so (almost) all across the board. Before even playing the game, promotional materials demonstrate a cute heroine, an endearing plot about rescuing her cat, and a surreal, saccharine, Lisa Frank-lite visual style that’s so unusual for action games that it alone might make the game stand out from the crowd. Much of that initial impression continued as I began to play, as the game’s base mechanics are rock-solid. As it went on, however, Super Crush KO also demonstrated that first impressions aren’t everything. So while I’m giving this game a thumb up, that’s only because this quick binary rating is required in reviews; read on to determine whether Super Crush KO is for you.

From the studios, Vertex Pop, comes Super Crush KO, a fast-paced, vibrant color brawler side scroller that takes place in a very lively and colorful city in the near future.

The story is not at all the main point of this adventure, however, saving the protagonist’s kitten, by its name Chubbz, can never pass next to anyone. Well, the player plays the role of Karen, an ordinary girl, who was resting in her room with her pet, when suddenly a big explosion echoes over her room. Here comes your rival, Ann. A being from another galaxy looking to find a friend to keep him company. The goal of the player will be to overcome about 20 levels full of enemy robots in search of retrieving their downy friend.

Aurora

Aurora

It might not feel like your typical polished platformer initially, but it works very well. The dash is NOT a single input, and you can micro it technically, which leads to some cool and wonky plays. I would love to see a TAS.

I must say, this game is addicting to run. It’s a fun platformer! It’s cute as fuck too, omg. So cute. Get on sale if you enjoy platformers
