Broken Blades

Broken Blades

Broken Blades is extraordinary, so many unexpected alternatives and creativity.

The game is a blast and I’m happy playing it and having it in my library !

Suggestions :

  • I always had the shield bar empty. I finished the game and no vendor I found, offered shields.

  • A tad too hard, and I found no save points.

  • An ingame map would increase the allure so much :

I progressed going around and around till finding new areas by luck and perseverance.

Thought the game was short and over at times, but instead, it is so big.

You VS Drugs

You VS Drugs

YOU TAKE ON THE ROLE OF REAL-LIFE AGENTS WHO EXIST IN YOUR BRAIN, WHERE YOUR OWN WIT CAN RISE TO REVERT A WORLDWIDE DEVASTATION. THE ENEMY CAN ENSLAVE ANYONE, ANYWHERE. BY EMBARKING ON AN ADVENTURE THAT WILL DEFY YOUR IMAGINATION, YOU WILL DISCOVER HOW DRUG ADDICTION THREATENS HUMANITY. BY WATCHING REAL NEUROLOGICAL EVENTS, YOU WILL BE EMPOWERED TO BETTER PROTECT YOURSELF, AND THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE —IF YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES!

Inspiration & theme: “In 1960, only 4 million Americans had ever tried drugs” (2.2% of people). “By creating the Bureau of Narcotics & Dangerous Drugs in 1968, the U.S. set the basis of an official national/international war on drugs” (Drug Enforcement Administration Museum).

50 years later, the National Survey on Drug Use & Health (2019) showed that 164.8 million Americans aged 12 or older (60.1% of people) were past month substance users. Even worse, “children are already abusing drugs at age 12 or 13 (…), including tobacco, alcohol, inhalants, marijuana, prescription drugs such as sleeping pills & anti-anxiety medicines” (National Institute on Drug Abuse -NIDA-, 2020). And now, the United Nations’ 2021 World Drug Report states that “pandemic effects ramp up drug risk, as youth underestimate cannabis dangers”. So, what now? NIDA (2020) states that “Increased understanding of the basics of addiction will empower people to make informed choices in their own lives”. But if science took +100 years to unravel how drugs change the brain and produce addiction, how can regular kids & adults learn such complex topics to foresee the hidden dangers of trying drugs?

‘You VS Drugs’ is the first brain-based video game saga in the world designed to prevent drug addiction by empowering people with real knowledge, so they can make better choices in their own lives!

Design & gameplay: It’s a chibi cartoon-style 3D graphic design of characters & settings which give players a sense of action and fun at first glance. Friends & foes, level challenges, sounds, structures & objects are designed for players —that can play alone/with a partner— to explore, have fun, get surprised, fight, and make decisions that test the knowledge players acquire while watching how their brain works, and how drugs mess up with people’s lives. All relevant situations are inspired in real events of the working brain.

Game mechanics (and link to the learning experience):

• Incorrect responses to Path questions lead to situations that diminish energy levels.

• Correct responses to Path questions earn players points. Enough points allow the discovery of a special feature in the camp’s hospital.

• Your choices sometimes affect other AI teammates’ energy levels.

• To complete the first half of a level you need to take care of your fellow(s).

• Once a level is completed, the subsequent level is unlocked.

• Before a new level starts, weapon improvements or new skills can be learned at the camp’s gym.

This game has an interesting premise, but poor execution. It crashes frequently, has poor AI and many other bugs plaguing it.

Whiskey & Zombies: The Great Southern Zombie Escape

Whiskey & Zombies: The Great Southern Zombie Escape

Loving this game so far. Super fun top down game, kinda like a slower and more suspenseful version of Hotline Miami. The game is fun but also super hard (almost to the point of frustrating, but I keep coming back for more). Never screamed so much playing a game I think. The zombies sneak up on you and the horde is real!!! A good combo of strategy and fighting.

100% recommended!

Fun as hell, I played it on comic con like three years ago and bought it the other day. The game is still really buggy but I know it has potential.

Reptiles: In Hunt

Reptiles: In Hunt

An adventure game with the story of a hunter who tries to find his lost son, set in a post apocalyptic world ruled by dinosaurs and reptilian humanoids.

It’s content is very nice for an indie title. The playtime is about 4-6 hours.

The story is quite simple without decisions, still enough to keep up the interest.

The graphics and the map design looks fine.

There are even some really beautiful places which can make the player to stop and simply enjoying the view. There are some graphical bugs, but none of those are serious.

TLDR: Reptiles: In Hunt has more bugs than dinosaurs, but despite its many failings there is a gaming experience worth hunting in this indie title…it just needs a lot more evolution before we can call it a ‘clever girl.’

I completed Reptiles: In Hunt today - in total, it took me a little under 10 hours (9.8 hours). Looking at other reviewers time with the game, I suspect I might be one of the few people to leave a review who’ve played this game to the end (at least, at the time of writing), so I want to offer some thoughts.

Thank you to the developers of 7 The Days Long Gone,IMGN.PRO and Fool’s Theory, for creating a new exciting world for me to escape, explore and enjoy.

7TDLG is one of the oddest games i have played in a while. Some nights i couldn’t stop playing, other nights i couldn’t get started. Its this mixed feeling i had playing which represents my feelings towards the game experience. It’s a game of highs and lows, but one that has me excited for the DLC and another new IPs future that is just getting started.

TL;DR:

If you are a fan of stealth and ARPG and this game is on sale, do get it and give it a shot.

Despite its obvious flaws, the game has a certain combination of gameplay elements that I haven’t found in another game yet. And this has left me wanting for a better version of this game. Seven had great potential which was clearly left underutilised by the developers but it is still worth a shot considering the fact that the sale price is great.

Good Night, Knight

Good Night, Knight

At $15, this game is an excellent alpha title. I’d say it’s better than many beta titles in development. The game is charming, the soundtrack is decent, and I laughed at the light humor sprinkled throughout the game.

This game is similar to many top-down Zelda titles but with a fleshed-out, challenging combat system. The stealth mechanic is handled wonderfully, the equipment system is fun and allows an enormous amount of customization, and there is a shocking level of detail to the game. Grappling enemies adds much needed depth to the combat system and is quite satisfying. See that pot? Pick it up, fill it with water, and huck it at the nearest enemy for a decent chunk of damage. Or skip the pot and grab the enemy, drag them to the water, and casually drown them for extra crafting materials. Not enough? Push them into a bottomless void or throw them into other enemies. The random generation makes levels replayable and interesting. There’s also a multiplayer mode which involves serious cooperation, though it has some bugs for now. I had so much fun with my friend coordinating stealth attacks and accidentally suplexing each other into oblivion.

I so far have so this to be a tough but fair game with many different types of creatures and obstacles for the player to face. Though I will admit the a good amount of the game for me has been grinding lower floor. The first two bosses are challenging but fair though so far on fighting the third boss that is where the challenge is. Hopefully I’ll be able to defeat the cyclopes soon, but it will be way more challenging then any of the other.

Alright its 6/28/21 found out how to kill the Bug Queen and found a glitch basically when she starts shooting out eggs press rt on an xbox controller to throw it back at her. As for the glitch apparently after giving the shell of one of the bug queens egg to the old man there will be an axe that appearances and his hand and then the whole game will freeze. Seems to be inentional for now.
