AMID THE LINES
Game’s a giant asset flip. It’s like a first draft of a highschool project.
And It’s not remotely finished at that. One of the last levels don’t even load.
The story and dialog were clearly writen by a young child.
Do not buy.

Very amateur game that ended up breaking on the 5th level. Could no longer use skills in combat which made the stage and the rest of the game unfinishable. Restarting the level or the game did not remedy this. Getting to that point was not enjoyable. The combat was fun at first but after the first few levels you have seen all there is to it. It was that janky fun combat like Enter the Matrix.
Every time you finish a level you are kicked back to the main menu and have to select the next one. The story is told through text that pops up at exclamation points located in the stages. There are no cutscenes. Hardly any interaction with the levels. Some levels are just a single room with a single NPC to talk to. The dialog is bad with sentences that don’t start with capitalized words.

Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death
Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death is the equivalent of a B-movie from the 1980s and 1990s. It is so bad it is good. It is clearly a low budget game that is not a breakthrough for the game industry or the game’s genre. However, this game provides plenty of fun from the beginning. The gameplay feels varied enough as you traverse different settings in the same country and the action never lets up.
Marlow Briggs is a smokejumper who goes on vacation outside the U.S. to a Spanish speaking country. I initially thought it was Mexico, but it could have been Central or South America based on the jungles and the rich history of the indigenous people. He is with his girlfriend, an archeologist who is kidnapped by an Asian madman, Heng Long, with godlike magical powers who seems bent on taking over the world. This madman kills Marlow Briggs with a mythical weapon, but he is reborn by a Mayan mask proclaiming him to be the sacred warrior who must save the sacred land. Long is backed up by an army of mercenaries of varying levels of difficulty. Marlow goes to fight to save the land for the Mayan mask and to save his girlfriend. It becomes apparent that this plot is formulaic and unoriginal but this game can get away with it because of its X factor: entertainment value.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then “Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death” is one of the most flattering games in recent memory. Thankfully, unlike most B-grade ripoffs of more popular games, Marlow Briggs is actually an entertaining product, thanks to its more than competent imitation of the God of War formula, surprisingly fleshed-out combat mechanics, and a genuinely funny sense of humour. Marlow may not bring the same high-quality flash as Kratos, but at a very reasonable $5 price tag, this game is still worth checking out.

Devil May Cry® 3 Special Edition
Most of the negative reviews here are because of technical issues that are solvable on most systems. Fullscreen works by pressing ALT+Enter (maybe not while in the menu or title screen or cutscene, but ingame), widescreen support is available via a hack. On some systems, the resolution may be limited to 640x480 or 800x600, but that is not the normal behaviour. You should get the highest 4:3 resolution closest to your native resolution without a patch. XBox controllers are not officially supported because this game uses directinput for controller support, which is the predecessor to xinput. If you have one of the recent Logitech gamepads (F310 for example), you can choose between directinput and xinput via a hardware switch on the controller, then map the controller keys correctly (setup controller) and the game works out of the box. If you have to use an xbox compatible controller, you have to fiddle around to get the trigger keys working. This is because the trigger keys are analog and on the same axis on the xbox compatible controllers, but are two seperate digital keys on the older standard. Please note that this game was developed before the xbox compatible controllers had been invented! It would have been nice of Capcom to have this version revamped like they did for PS3 and XBox, but they have not. It is not optimized for the PC and it is an old game, but I still think it is awesome.

Want to play DMC3? Get this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/devilmaycry3/mods/1/ ?
It is to DMC3SE what DSfix is to Dark Souls. It fixes the performance, controller and sound issues, making the PC version as solid as its console counterparts.
Not only that, the mod has options for on-the-fly style-switching, weapon-switching for all weapons, Doppelganger and Quicksilver styles for Vergil, Air Hike for every weapon, graphical options, etc. DMC3 now has more moves and twice the number of weapons available at a time than DMC4.

DmC: Devil May Cry
DmC had a lot of unwarranted hate poised against it before it even before release. ‘Fans’ decried the new design, while thrashing the developers for describing the old look in blunt but apt ways. The verdict was in before anyone could get their hands on it, and even when people did, they would only look to reinforce their own idea of what the game is. Scenes meant to be tongue-in-cheek throwbacks and foreshadowing were perceived as slights against the vocal few, while actual flaws went overlooked.
