METAL DOGS

METAL DOGS

Someone made a game based on the comic “We 3” and that makes me so happy 3

EDIT: If you like games that you can grind at and listen to podcasts atst, this is a great addition to that kind of game, much like Book of Demons.

Currently this game is fun for about 10-20 mins. I love the concept and almost Diablo II like gameplay in portions of it and it has potential to be quite good… but a lot of work is needed to make this a game worth $30.

I would say in the games current state it feels like a $5 game that you could spend an hour or 2 enjoying before you put it down and walk away from it forever.

Lots of issues with this game (most of which I would overlook if it was multiplayer…. but it’s not)

PROS:

  • Game has potential to be an awesome game of dodging and timing attacks and customizing weapons

Space Hack

Space Hack

Overall, after spending 45 hours grinding through this game and going through all 15 BioSpheres and all 45 levels, I can say for sure that Space Hack isn’t worth the experience in present times or at least has aged horribly.

TL;DR: This game is extremely tedious and repetitive and although I had fun in a few places I can’t really recommend this to anyone unless they are looking to complete a random game and they are willing to spend hours and hours battling with the same stuff. Even for a 2005 game it suffers from horrible pacing which shows the lack of interesting mechanics to play with.

I’ve been playing ARPGs for a long time. This sucks as an ARPG.

These are my problems with it:

  • No chest system. Biggest problem in my case. I like to save items I might or not use in the future in some place. This game didn’t have that. I ended up using my base to save good gear, by the end I had over 50 items laying around.

  • A lot back-tracking. Get this: the inventory is 10x5. A bit tiny except some items can be 2x4 in size, and as mentioned before, no chest system. So let’s say you find 5 items with size 2x4, and then a 2x2 item. You’re done, you can’t pick up the 2x2 one. You have to go back to your base (for which you have a thing called “hi-techs”, which are basically spells; most are good and useful, some don’t use your energy), deal with items however you want to deal them (again, no chest system), go back to the quest, rinse and repeat. I think at the fourth or fifth time it happens in the same map, you’re allowed to swear at the devs.

Cat Quest II

Cat Quest II

[Disclaimer: This review covers both Cat Quest 1 and 2 as I bought the first game while I received a review-copy from the developers through Save or Quit. You can read the full 4.1K word (20K character) review down below with visual aids and a (soon to be done) video.]

Cat Quest: Back to Where It All Furst Began

With the release of Cat Quest 2, it’s difficult to share the same adoration for its predecessor after having played something that takes everything the previous game did so well, yet simply does the same concept so much better. Thankfully, with the release of the Cat Quest 1 & 2 bundle at a reasonable price, I can happily recommend the original as much as the sequel—but it’s quite clear which game is superior. (Psst, Gentlebros, if you were to recreate Cat Quest in the sequel as DLC with reworked dungeons and the same quests and story, I would happily buy that day one.)

Sometimes you will play a game that catches you completely by surprise. Cat Quest 2 was one of those games for me. Sure I could tell it had nice graphics and art style. I had seen the announcement trailers and stuff. But I never played the first one, so how fun could an RPG Lite with a cat and dog actually be? Well, let me just tell you upfront…Gentlebros has delivered an amazing game that I truly enjoyed from the very moment I picked the controller. Honestly its a Purrfect recipe for success. Let’s look at the story first.

The Last Friend

The Last Friend

If you are a fan of PvZ, consider buying this when it is on 30% sales . The gameplay is a little mix between PvZ TD and fighting. Visual and music is nice and relaxing, the plot is easy to understand with dogs everywhere. However, the gameplay will get repetitive and bored very soon. The fighting mechanics are too simple without anything new and different between skills.

I have completed this game for 100% achievement in around 17 hours - this is a casual and easy game without any challenges. Overall, 6/10 for me

SHORT VERSION:

The Last Friend is a lane-based tower defense game in which you balance tower placement with runnin' around smackin' fools. It’s a pretty good one of these, with a good variety of towers and personal abilites that you can combine as you wish. Things can get a little stale at points though, as certain late-game strategies are extremely solid once they’re built, and a good brawler won’t have much trouble collecting the scrap to build them. Overall, I had a pretty good time, and even the overpowered builds were pretty fun to unleash upon the enemy during my final push.

Territory

Territory

ABOUT TERRITORY

Territory is an unforgettable adventure; a survival/real-time strategy that has animals fighting for territory as well as their lives. All players in Territory begin as small animals; fighting and clawing your way to the top of the food chain.

TAKE IT, IT’S YOURS!

Expanding your territory makes this experience like no other. Choosing land near valuable resources such as food, water, and/or shelter is vital to your survival. The more territory you have, the stronger you are. In addition, more territory may make you a more desirable partner.

DEFEND

It’s not enough to simply claim the best territory; you have to defend it! There are other animals out there (potentially larger) that want what you have. Grow your numbers to increase your chances of warding off neighboring packs.

USE YOUR STRENGTHS

Will you use the strength of a boar to fight off attackers, the agility of a fox to avoid them, or perhaps the lethality of the wolf to take from others. The choice is up to you.

JOIN THE FIGHT

Play online with your tribe and conquer the world of Territory! Territory supports up to 100 players in the world at a single time…that’s a lot of friends (or enemies).
