Devil May Cry® 3 Special Edition

Devil May Cry® 3 Special Edition

Most of the negative reviews here are because of technical issues that are solvable on most systems. Fullscreen works by pressing ALT+Enter (maybe not while in the menu or title screen or cutscene, but ingame), widescreen support is available via a hack. On some systems, the resolution may be limited to 640x480 or 800x600, but that is not the normal behaviour. You should get the highest 4:3 resolution closest to your native resolution without a patch. XBox controllers are not officially supported because this game uses directinput for controller support, which is the predecessor to xinput. If you have one of the recent Logitech gamepads (F310 for example), you can choose between directinput and xinput via a hardware switch on the controller, then map the controller keys correctly (setup controller) and the game works out of the box. If you have to use an xbox compatible controller, you have to fiddle around to get the trigger keys working. This is because the trigger keys are analog and on the same axis on the xbox compatible controllers, but are two seperate digital keys on the older standard. Please note that this game was developed before the xbox compatible controllers had been invented! It would have been nice of Capcom to have this version revamped like they did for PS3 and XBox, but they have not. It is not optimized for the PC and it is an old game, but I still think it is awesome.

Want to play DMC3? Get this mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/devilmaycry3/mods/1/ ?

It is to DMC3SE what DSfix is to Dark Souls. It fixes the performance, controller and sound issues, making the PC version as solid as its console counterparts.

Not only that, the mod has options for on-the-fly style-switching, weapon-switching for all weapons, Doppelganger and Quicksilver styles for Vergil, Air Hike for every weapon, graphical options, etc. DMC3 now has more moves and twice the number of weapons available at a time than DMC4.

Jet Set Radio

Jet Set Radio

Have you ever wanted to be a rollar-blading punk, rollin' around the city tagging walls, and stickin' it to the man?

No? Maaaan fuck you get out of here yes you have. This game is known far across the land for it’s kickin' soundtrack, beats so thick you could bounce a coin off ‘em. Also, it’s so old GBA could run it, so don’t sweat the specs. Only worry is the keyboard controls suck harder than your EX girlfriend, so grab an Xbox 360 controller and get going.

Now the objective of the game is simple, roll around the city, tag some walls, and keep away from the fuzz. However, this is all done to the sweet sonic sound that will be oozing out of the audio device of your choosing. It also helps that this game has graphically dated better than you could ever dream of. (Oh snap son.) You might get one Jet rank on your first playthrough. Might. If you wanna get Jet on every mission you must first study the anicent urban staking gurus.

“Who are you! What’s your name? Super Brothers!”

Jet Set Radio is one of those games you most likely saw a demo of at a Target or Best Buy back in the early 2000s but never really got to play because you were too cool for a Dreamcast. Luckily, this PC port exists. This game is the perfect mix of skating and graffiti with a soundtrack to match and graphics that are considerably better than those of today’s games. The added danger of being tackled by street guards, being shot at by a crazed police captain, having missiles fired from helicopters, and run over by motorcycle riding police makes it more fun

the game is def worth $8, very addictive, very good at passing time (see: my playtime), and it’s fun climbing up the leaderboard! i bought this game for dv-i and she delivered and virix dreamcore had bangers in here as well

the board aesthetic is so clean, and the ingame real-time clock is a cool small feature, wish more games did that

had some minor problems:

i really don’t like most of the gallery boards, they’re too bright and detailed and hard to distinguish colors, especially on bigger boards. the beach one is good tho

CROSSNIQ+ at its core is a race against time, a different breed of grid-based puzzlers like Chuzzle and Yoshi’s Cookie. The goal is to make titular “crosses” of one row and column of the same color. There’s an appropriate mix of specialty tiles and consequences for how you deal with them, both in direct gameplay and recorded score. It’s also a great “podcast” game with its Chillout mode, in the sense that it’s a time sink you can run while listening to stuff in the background. But Versus mode is where it really shines, with a wide assortment of powerups with different offensive and defensive types. All of this is topped off with its distinct visual style and matching soundtrack.

Negatives:

Main program is flagged as a malware by Windows Defender so you have to get around that to install this.

No full screen support

No text speed option

No framerate lock

4 hr kinetic novel with full Chinese VA (none on 3rd story, “1/30000 Days to Love” though). There are 3 stories, but the first 2 just make one story together. Good writing/narrative, characters, and art. Great soundtrack. Philosophical.

Devil May Cry 4

Devil May Cry 4

The Special Edition (re-release/standalone expansion) is coming out on June 24th as a separate product. If you were considering this, I suggest you wait a few months.

Devil May Cry 4 is intended for a controller, playable with a keyboard (on the highest difficulties and for doing advanced combos)- but bizarre as the mouse is only for menus. In a lot of cases the game will require the player to press 3+ keys at the same time without ghosting (common in cheap keyboards made only for typing).

Real player with 745.4 hrs in game

Devil May Cry 4 is an amazing hack-and-slash game that is easy to learn and hard to master. The combat system is very in depth and there is always more room for improvement, even for the greatest masters of the game. It also has many different difficulty levels that will keep you busy for HOURS. You get to play as either Nero, who has a very interesting combat system because of his grab ability, and Dante, who has a variety of weapons and fighting styles to choose from while in game, giving an indefinite number of possibilities for combos. Plus, the game is very pretty, even on the lowest graphics settings, and for a PC port, it is not that bad.

Driftpunk Racer

Driftpunk Racer

Notice how the trailer is barely 20 seconds long, and of that you see a few seconds of a car “drifting” on the track?

Don’t be fooled, this game is no better than the free mobile car games you can download on your phone, and probably plays worse.

I sacrificed an hour of my time to get all the achievements, but bear in mind this game has “Profile Features Limited”, so these won’t count against your epeen tally on steam anyway.

The price is a joke, fortunately I got this in a bundle.

I Love this game!! The graphics are clean, the controls are simple, and the music is great!

The music builds as you progress forward. There is a rhythm to this game. This game can be frustrating, for me at least since I have NO rhythm.

In the end it’s a good buy and a fun addicting game!

Sayonara Wild Hearts

Sayonara Wild Hearts

This game touched me in a way no other game did before. The gorgeous visuals and the best ost I ever heard, paired with a compelling and subtle narrative, and gameplay that is simple but engaging turns It into an experience that transcends the limitations of its own media.

The only downside this game has is that its visuals, despite being one of Its strongest points also limits its acessibility. My girlfriend is photosensitive and this game is not easy on her eyes, which is a shame, since I wish she could experience Sayonara wild hearts as well.

Shatter

Shatter

Shatter is the best Breakout game I have ever played, It took the best of the classic and improved on it, You can suck, blow, shoot, shield, Fire as many balls as you want and there even are bosses.

The game has a bunch of gamemodes, Story mode which takes you through the 10 chapters which all have a bunch of levels, Some are horizontal some are vertical some are even round, And at the end of each chapter there is a boss level, Which is just super cool, Boss levels in a breakout game, The bosses are very well made, After the boss level you get a bonus level and then on to the next chapter.

Real player with 104.5 hrs in game

Shatter is a visually amazing brick breaking game with the best soundtrack of its genre. Whether you keep it old school and rely solely on your skills of maneuvering the “bat” and hitting the ball at the right angle or if you use the new “Suck” & “Blow” gameplay mechanics to help guide the ball where you need it to be, this easy to play yet challenging to master game will give you hours upon hours of enjoyment. And don’t forget the “Shard Storm” should you need help taking out some bricks or just want to eliminate the bosses faster.

Shio

Shio

Basic Info

Genre: Non-Combat Skill-based Platformer

Difficulty: Medium-Hard

You play as a silent, masked man whose job is to light lanterns. Who you are and why you do what you do is what you will discover in Shio.

There is no combat in Shio, your only enemy is the environment. Nearly everything will kill you in one touch. You can only do two things, run and jump. While that sounds simple enough, the architects of the towers you have to traverse have placed all sorts of obstacles in your path, such as, but not limited to, spikes, lava floors, fireball cannons and swinging pendulums. At certain points there is also gates which has to be opened by lighting certain lanterns. As if the tower itself was not enough to be in your way, the weather will also try to stop you, from sun-beam lasers to razor-leaf-carrying wind-canons.

actually i don’t really want to recommend this game but its still worth a buy in sales

the things i want to clarify about this game, as a 2d platformer game, the difficulty is balanced and not even hard at all, i don’t know why most of the dislike review said its too hard, since this game is easier than most of the hard 2d platformer in steam

the game have 2 difficulty, easy and hard mode, i never tried easy mode, but already completed all the total time achievements in hard mode, so i think this game is friendly enough as a 2d platformer
