Zombieland: Double Tap - Road Trip

Zombieland: Double Tap - Road Trip

Good Game Both Cooperative and Solo,Easy Achievements Good Gameplay,Not As Bad as Critics Say

Real player with 10.8 hrs in game

My review after completing the game (exception to coop achievements).

Toplines:

1. The game is basic and short.

2. It doesn’t represent the Zombieland movie experience.

3. Found a critical gameplay bug at the last mission.

4. Cash grab game. The price tag doesn’t reflect what the game offers.

Happy to chat about it.

My friend bought this game for me thinking it was nice wholesome content,

! little did she know about the gorey hectic slaughter in stage 2

The game doesnt have much depth to it but it is a very enjoyable twin stick shooter which I will probably invest a lot more hours in trying to find that damn hidden achievement.

Really excited to see more of you guys.

10/10 would get caught by the spider as I watch a bear maul my home and family to shreds again.

One thing about this game that can really get on your nerves though is how at times the game consistently fails to give you the right power-ups to make it past certain points in the game, mainly looking at the fire rate upgrade here.

According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly.

Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground.

The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don’t care what humans think is impossible.

Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black.

Ooh, black and yellow!

Let’s shake it up a little.

Barry! Breakfast is ready!

Coming!

Hang on a second.

Hello?

Barry?

Adam?

Can you believe this is happening?

I can’t.

I’ll pick you up.

Looking sharp.

Review Update

I have had to come back and edit this review.

When I made my initial review, I was only about 1h into discovering and enjoying the game. As you can see from my play time now (currently 67 hours) I have completely fallen in love with this game. And I’ve gotten damned good at it to, but we’ll get to that soon enough.

Let’s rewind to the beginning.

I say with some sheepishness now, that I initially judged the “intensity” of the game’s aesthetics and marketing to be a bit of a gimmick. The swearing and outlandish presentation gave me a bit of an eye roll. I’ve played and beaten a great many crazy-hard games from the original Serious Sam on Serious difficulty on down the line. As a gamer that dearly loves a fair but punishing game, I have grown weary over the years of various games that would promise insane amounts of action and intensity, but generally deliver broken game design or tediously easy games.

This is without a doubt, my favorite arena shooter I have ever played. If you have ever liked Total Carnage, Geometry Wars, Smash TV, or really any other top down omnidirectional shooter, you owe it to yourself to give this a try. It even has local coop, for those of you always searching for new couch multiplayer games.

Tormentor X Punisher is a score attack and leaderboard centric arena shooter focused on nonstop action, (you reload your machinegun by shooting your shotgun) where everything dies in one hit including all bosses, and yourself. It’s great for the “just one more round!” effect because matches will last at most 5 minutes, and it takes about 7 seconds to go from dead, to being in a new round.

Alien Infection

Alien Infection

As a fan of this type of genre (“twin stick”) I was excited to see something like this in VR! And not only is this playable in VR on a range of hardware, its also playable on desktop too! Thats effort not many put in, and dwarfs even a certain AAA studio who literally could not be arsed testing their game on anything other than a rift.

! cough Borderlands coug–chokes

I initially played this briefly pre-launch on the desktop, as it wouldnt launch in VR (issue resolved now.) I was concerned. It didnt seem that great and I figured I would be writing a bad review, however I must say VR does add something to the mix (as it tends to do), the game felt like it was making more sense. The problem is, even if it was a bit better, it still felt like an incomplete game.

Simple cheap game lacking in polish and gameplay. Feels more like a prototype tech demo that never got finished.

Behold!

Behold!

Honestly this is a very simple game. But simplicity does not equal boring.

The game is basiclly a fun little twin stick shooter with chaotic and metal feeling to it’s gameplay.

It’s not complicated and it’s not hard to understand.

It’s just simple fun.

The game is incredibly cheap, so thats all i could ask for 3

The Basics:

Nice pixel art, rocking music, funny sounds, satisfying death animations :)

Xbox 360 controller works nicely.

The game should run on any toaster of your choice.

The Gameplay:

You are a monster which breaks loose between two armies, your task is to survive by wiping out said armies.

Waves of diverse enemies will be thrown against you ranging from several kinds of melee guys to archers to mages and (mini)bosses like giants, minotaurs etc.

You will shoot 4 kinds of rays (picked randomly, 1-2 at a time) with different effects to kill stuff. Furthermore you can jump granting you invincibility while in mid-air and crushing enemies beneath you when you come down (has a cooldown). Finally you will eat enemies whom you touch replenishing your health by 10 each time (again beware the cooldown).

Disclaimer: I friended the dev of the game after finding and trying the beta builds on IndieDb. I did buy my own copy of the game however, and wrote this review of my own accord.

Think Payday: The Heist meets Hotline Miami, with some Diablo-esque gear system thrown in. That’s really the easiest/simplest way to describe the game.

Controls are tight, gameplay can be challenging, and the skill system allows for a diverse set of play styles. Whether you want to be Solid Snake, the TF2 Engineer, or Rambo, the game has weapons and classes supporting that play style.

Mr. Fast

Mr. Fast

This is art. The kind of art where bullets fly all around and blood spatters paint the concrete floor. Awesome soundtrack too, Already hoping for a sequel, This is a true hidden gem. 10/10

Real player with 5.3 hrs in game

This game is poorly optimized. The aiming system is jank. The sound clips in and out. The soundtrack is ok at best. Some levels have a habit of spawning enemies on top of you. The physics are a joke. The levels are varied and have some nuance to them but are largely just shoot the dudes until the round ends. Despite all this, Mr. Fast is still an enjoyable experience if your expectations are low going in. I have no idea where I am or where I’m going, all I know is I must kill. Slowpokes need not apply.
