A huge improvement over the first game in more ways than one.

Staying true to the formula of which made the movie Cube so great, HALF DEAD 2 features a much wider variety of traps in comparison to it’s predecessor, which makes for a much more unpredictable game.

It’s also a big improvement graphically and mechanically, where the original Half Dead fell short, HALF DEAD 2 shines. I haven’t had any issue finding other players online either, which makes the game a whole lot more fun as opposed to just playing single player over and over. Hell, this game even has loot crates which are free to open and contain cosmetic items for your character. A pleasant surprise to say the least.

THE DEVIL HAUNTS ME

THE DEVIL HAUNTS ME

I first learnt about this game from one of Markiplier’s videos on his YouTube channel. From the looks of the game, it seemed to be a survival horror type of genre, but was extremely fun to play. When it was announced that the game was on Steam, I was excited to play it, since I wasn’t able to play it before. You’re placed in a dystopian setting where you would have to rely on food, water and wood to survive in the forest by hunting deer, chopping down trees and collecting water. As you do these tasks, something lurks in the forest with the intention of killing you. The game had new features and additions compared to the version I had seen from Markiplier’s video. It introduced new items, locations, difficulties and endings to diversify the game, therefore it was a new and enhanced experience for me. Throughout my gameplay for The Devil Haunts Me, it was really challenging to avoid being killed by whatever aspires to kill you, which I won’t spoil for someone who hasn’t played the game yet.

While the actual resource management is very basic, the secrets make this game a special experience. The character is stranded alone in the forest, and he has to collect 3 types of resources in order to survive the night. I didn’t find the game particularly scary, but it has a haunting atmosphere that I really enjoyed. As you can guess, the forest holds many mysteries that are attached to creative achievements. Each of the work tools has upgrades that can be found while exploring the area, not to mention some passive bonuses. As the title might suggest, it has a “nemesis” system. Not only you will be chased around the forest by the monster, but he will also get stronger. One of the secrets is very significant to the overall experience, I would advise you to explore the area fully because it adds valuable context. Unfortunately, the game broke on me right before the end, but I really enjoyed it up to that point.

Dead Purge: Outbreak

Well, after spending some time with the game… it’s not that bad.

Playable for some hours or when u have little time.

But not worth more than 5,- € to spend for.

The Pro’s:

  • Easy Gameplay

  • Nice Graphs, not sensational but good

  • Nice animated zombies

  • Fast reachable achievements

  • Surroundings/maps with good atmosphere

  • Proper sound

  • No bugs (till now)

The Con’s:

  • Small maps

  • Just a handful maps

  • Always same zombie types (about 8-10 different)

  • Only solo

  • For experienced shooter-players too easy

Whilst this game is a bit of fun, unfortunately, I can’t recommend it, at least not for the price tag.

Basically, the game is lower quality and smaller version of Killing Floor, the graphics look good with plenty of blood and gore if that’s your thing, but I’m afraid its let down by the low-quality gameplay and controls.

Hit detection can be way off, damage doesn’t feel much difference between weapons and so many invisible things you get stuck on around the maps, zombie variety is few and far between as well, there isn’t a great deal to it at all.

Wow.

Okay, wow. What to say?

i found this game at a sale, randomly, on sale page xx or something like that :D

(bored browsing through steam games)

TLDR;

**Welp, turns out I REALLY like this game & went… a bit past sane limits. The compact version still hits the spot, but for the ULTIMATE take on “Delivery From The Pain” check out the full beast

“Delivery From The Pain” has got me feeling a way I haven’t since perhaps playing “State Of Decay” back when it was early access too. It’s not that DFTP plays the same as SOD, because–for all the general similarities—the styling & execution yield vastly different takes. That similar sensation I’m feeling is rooted in their accomplishment of, seemingly contradictory, nostalgic innovation. DFTP’s central experience plays so naturally as to feel almost… obvious in retrospect; and yet, it’s a perspective desperately absent the array of alternatives already available. Excuse the mixed metaphor, but “Delivery From The Pain” is a breath of fresh air that’s somehow breathtaking all the same.

EDITED (See Old Review Below the new one):

NEW REVIEW:

I haven’t played this in a long time and I came back to see if it has had any updates but there’s nothing on the store page, Steam forums, or Discord to indicate any progress. It’s been slightly over a year since anything was heard from the developers so they’re either quietly working on this or they’ve abandoned it. I’m thinking the latter at this point.

It’s a shame as this showed some great potential but with the devs not giving updates and messages from several people being ignored on Discord I can only assume that this is a dead game.

POSTWORLD

POSTWORLD

This is a good game on the verge of being a great game. I see alot of potential here and the devs seem very responsive to feedback from players to keep improving it.

Praise:

  • Large, open apocalyptic world to explore

  • Survival: need to sleep, eat, drink, and manage environmental hazards like radiation

  • Lots of weapon mods

  • Character customization with armor, gear and clothing

Gripes:

  • English translation is a bit rough. Some careful reading is required to understand the story

Real player with 16.9 hrs in game

Postworld is a pretty good indie singleplayer RPG/Shooter. It’s well designed and thought-out, with many different weapons and attachments to customize your playstyle. You can roam freely through the wastelands, though you mainly travel over a world-map in Fallout 1+2 or Mount&Blade style to get to the different locations. It looks and feels good with a large amount of different mechanics.

Bear in mind that it’s pretty indie, so AAA quality should not be expected of course, but for an indie project this is pretty awesome.

I played the game for a few hours, this game caught my eye because it reminded me of “the forest”, and it was free so I enjoyed that.

I had a few problems,

1. There really isn’t much of a guide, outside the Guide picture which isn’t all that helpful, I know its free roam but I had no clue what to do besides loot the village, then I had no clue how to place a fireplace/torch/furnace (i know now you have to equip it in your hotbar), or simply what tools gather what materials.

2. when it comes to the objectives and notes, I wan’t sure if my game was broken, I got to the radio room, with the objective, and nothing happened, I looted the axe and flashlight, looked at the letter, played with the radio, but nothing happened, also are letters supposed to be picked up, I couldn’t find a way if so, because i find it hard to read them, also the english needs a little working on.

Real player with 27.3 hrs in game

Black_faith used to be a survival gathering game, it reminded me of a early rust, you had to get rocks, wood and stuff to craft a stove and other stuff, then suddenly they remade that into this….Call of duty zombie like game

And while its still OK, it would be better as a gamemode not as the actual game

They really went in the wrong way by takeing out all the actual monsters they had and just replaceing them with the same basic zombie/ghoul model

It had a co-op mode somewhat before, now theres no co-op at all, theres no real true “survival” to it other then “STAY ALIVE” dureing the zombie waves

Pros

  • Nice ambiance at times

  • some decent puzzles

  • A couple of ok scares here and there

Cons

  • No Save Game

  • it’s very short

  • No Save Game!

  • The english translation dialogue on the notes and other text you can find in the game is pretty terrible, to the point of it being amusing

  • NO SAVE GAME!

Final thoughts

  • if you can get it cheap and set asside an hour or so to play it through in one (due to there being no save game - I think I mentioned that), then it’s an ok little horror game. Not really worth the time unless you’re really bored and it’s very cheap though.

Real player with 1.7 hrs in game

So in a one hour game there are 4 out place jokes, one ad using Qcode, and 2 personal pictures of devs/friends. This is ok in other genres, but in a horror game it totally ruins immersion. In what is supposed to be a dungeon there are an ad and a picture of the devs saying “Its just a prank bro”. Literally all immersion is lost at that point, no fear factor, no hope left in any decent story.

The game is bad and plays like an immature joke. Sadly it had alot of pros, but with horror genre immersion is everything. Seriously devs, update that stuff out.

My Work Is Not Yet Done

My Work Is Not Yet Done

My Work Is Not Yet Done is a pilgrimage simulator following the final days of the inquisitor Avery, the last remaining survivor of the Empire’s doomed excursionary efforts into the remote and unaccountable Reach. Tasked with tracking down the source of an inscrutable signal, she must navigate, survey and survive an eerie, ever-shifting landscape reclaimed by nature — and perhaps something stranger.

My Work Is Not Yet Done seeks to provide a unique and innovative take on the survival genre aimed at accurately reproducing the physical and psychological experience of being alone in the wilderness, resituating the player’s role within nature as an interloper rather than conquistador. The game is set in an expansive open world environment that eschews the genre tropes of cold weather survival for a dense, oppressively rainy and humid forest, seamlessly blending procedural generation with a variety of handcrafted locations to ensure a sense of constant disorientation even across repeat playthroughs.

It is part of an ongoing series of works within a larger shared universe dedicated to examining questions of theological and cosmic horror: issues such as faith, weakness, devotion and loneliness — and the concomitant suffering contingent to such experiences.

Features

  • Combat-less exploration and survival gameplay, based on authentic bushcraft and land navigation techniques

  • Deep, systemically-reactive survival simulation mechanics, focusing on both physical and psychic conditions

  • A beautiful and expansive open world featuring real-time weather, atmospheric conditions, and day/night progression

  • Dynamic environments that react to the player’s condition and behaviour

  • Stark, striking 1-bit visuals, with an immersive HUD (and no hunger/thirst meters)

  • A free-form unscripted narrative experience built around emergent gameplay and ambient lore
