Turbo Kid

Turbo Kid

Turbo Kid is a BMX-powered pixel-art Metroidvania gore-fest based on the film of the same name.

This is the future, the world as we know it is gone. You are The Kid, a lone warrior on a journey to cross the Wasteland in search of hope. What you will find on your way however is a land riddled with scoundrels and creeps which you’ll have to go through - sometimes quite literally - in order to survive.

Turbo Kid’s choc-full-of-mayhem Turbo Glove™ will help make your quest smoother and much, much bloodier! Turbo Blast, Electric Shocks, your trusty machete, and then some; use the array of weapons at your disposal to slash, rip apart, or explode enemies into hysterical and over-the-top splashes of gore!

Run, crawl, jump, hang, and, for the very first time in a Metroidvania (don’t research this), bike your way through the levels! Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the height of human-powered transport technology: the BMX Bike!

Move around the map faster, access new areas, and practice your bike tricks in preparation for the 1998 Wasteland Olympics Freestyle BMX Event. No need to find an unrusted fence to lock your bike in this game! It’ll be there at the touch of a button whenever you need it.

Our story begins immediately after the events of the movie, as the Kid, you must cross the Wasteland after losing a friend in a tragic bloody battle. On your way, you will meet an array of colorful characters, some friends, some foes, and some in-between, who will offer advice, quests, fights, and jokes (lots of jokes).

We’re really proud of the story we’ve created for the game and we think you’ll enjoy it too. That being said, if you’re only in it for the gameplay and the story isn’t for you, you won’t even need to skip the cutscenes, you can basically just ignore and walk past them.

Like the Metroidvanias of old, TURBO KID allows you to explore the different zones and defeat bosses in the order you see fit, favoring exploration and discovery over a linear narrative. Over the course of the game, you will also be asked to make personal and moral choices that will affect the process of the game allowing for multiple playthroughs with different paths and outcomes.

In Short: A hidden gem in the rough. Buggy and short, but has a lot of heart and interesting story that keeps you playing.

https://youtu.be/8NsDT13RYMA

I originally purchased and played Pembrey when it first came out, but mistakenly early. It was only partially done, and I hadn’t even gotten to the good part yet! I could tell there was a decent game there, and eagerly awaited when it would be released in full.

That day has come.

I streamed it, and now that I was able to experience the story in full, I can say I still enjoyed the heart of the game, and found it fun as well as intriguing. Enough to make me want more of the story and more games from this dev.

Extremely boring.

I really liked the thought of needing to search around for clues and having that save your game, but it went to waste because it wasn’t really used in the story. I did like the art and some of the music, but a lot of times there was just silence, not even white noise or footsteps. I wasn’t even scared either, and I scare quite easily- the only time I ever jumped or got anxiety was those loud screaming noises because I was wearing headphones. One of the things that really pissed me off was when there was a choice- hide or keep climbing. Spoiler alert: the same thing happens regardless of your choice.

Short review: I bought this game at a discount. She disappointed me! Standard graphics in real engine, I tried to play on 3 devices, 2 of them lagged very much, every 10 - 15 seconds! In steam, the passage of the game (community content) is completely different, in the current version, the game leads me to no clear place and does not allow me to go further! What struck me the most was that when trying to collapse the game and go to the desktop, there is an icon of the engine on which the game was made, and the program itself is displayed as “Myproject9” - it’s a shame, I put 2 stars, just because it works. It seems to me that the reviews are screwed up…

When you’re gonna ask people to pay $6 dollars for a game that can be completed in a half hour (my actual runtime was 32 minutes), you really need to pack it with an experience. Unfortunately, this game is minimal on just about everything. The game goes like this; go to room, read note, go to room, get key, go to room, read note, on and on and on. You probably spend more time reading notes than playing the actual game. In terms of scare attempts, there’s virtually nothing. Some loud noises in the background, a boy standing in a doorway, and a hanging body that occasionally swings. The build-up doesn’t even lead to a climax; you simply move into the last room and the game is over.

Game: The Last Dogma

Genre: First-person Exploration Game

Developer: Sasha Darko

Publisher: Sasha Darko

Copy supplied by developer

The Last Dogma is a first-person exploration psychological game developed and published by Sasha Darko.

STORY

The game tries to mimic other games (such as The Stanley Parable) by creating a satirical story that is way too much “in-your-face” than other games of the genre. You play as Sebastian, an ATF special agent tasked with the tracking and eradication of local firearms dealers. You will find yourself in a village of cannibals, sewers, hellish landscapes, abandoned Christian schools and in Medieval times. It’s a weird, non-sensical, satirical story that falls apart from the very beginning. If you really are interested to understand what happens, read the topic created by the developer who explains the story. Something that shouldn’t happen.

Joke review: This game is probably to complex for you, it will confuse you unless you have a 120+ IQ and are a experienced pro gamer that plays a lot of casual titles.

“Serious” review: People give bad ratings to The Last Dogma but theyre totally missing it’s point. This game is pure satire, making fun of the Walking Simulator genre with their unnecessarily complex stories and convoluted and yet predictable plot twists. Oh and the unnecessary use of “big words” just to seem smart and deep.

I enjoyed The Last Dogma for what it is and it had me chuckle from time to time.

Diptych

Diptych

The heroes of the “Diptych” meet only for a moment. But on the battlefield of the First World War, even a moment can decide a person’s fate. Or in the case of a “Diptych”, an anthropomorphic animal, we will learn a scary story in a deceptively cute and, of course, unique style.

Features of the game:

  • Above a hundred game scenes

  • Alexey Troshin’s unique visual style was created on paper with watercolor paints and carefully transferred to the game

  • Live animated images

  • A touching story

  • Two storylines

  • Several variants of the plot development

The player will have to survive the battle on the battlefield, meet his love. And also find out the reverse side of the war behind the front line.

In the game, you will immerse yourself in a unique graphic style combined with life dialogues and atmospheric music.

You will be able to see a lot of illustrations revealing the game plot, in each scene you will learn more about the fate of the main character and experience incredible adventures in a place with him.

The game consists of more than 100 game scenes. in most scenes, you read the story and scroll through the story further.

In several scenes, you will have to find objects and solve puzzles.

Education

Education

I have played most of Tonguc Bodur’s games and have enjoyed them as they have evolved from beautiful walking simulators with a story to games with added activities. The last few have had interesting elements of shooting enemies, evading death traps, parking vehicles, etc.

Having said this, Education is not my favorite. Not a bad game, but not really what I was hoping for. It is short, very light on story, and incredibly dark (as in lack of lighting). I spent a lot of time managing flashlight batteries and trying to see in the darkness.

Real player with 4.0 hrs in game

Extremely short, glitchy, not scary in the slightest. I’d say the random freezing and crashing ruin the immersion but there would have to BE immersion for that to be true. Story is nonsense and the player character is a completely unlikable jackwagon who did a bunch of horrible stuff when he was a kid, up to and including causing another person’s suicide, and doesn’t feel bad about any of it at all. The environment might be effective at being creepy if it were actually possible to see it, which it isn’t because it’s about 400x darker than it should be even for a game set at night. Flashlight batteries die in 10 seconds so you’ll spend more time looking for them than reading the notes that explain the story. I’d say the bad battery mechanic ruins the immersion but there would have to BE…wait I covered that already. Christ, even the voice over in the goddamn TRAILER is nonsense and completely the opposite of what actually happens in the game. Even if you’re looking at this for $1 and thinking it would be an easy perfect achievement game to add to your profile….don’t do that either, because it got stuck under Steam’s limited profile nonsense so even if you 100% the achievements it won’t show up as a perfect game. I made a post explaining this to others who were already asking why it wasn’t showing up on their profiles and it got deleted. I guess it made more sense to censor my attempts to help others understand the situation than it was to take literally zero effort to deal with the issue. If achievement issue should be corrected at some point (not likely since the person who could get this issue resolved doesn’t give a big, fluffy crap about the people who spent their money on the product) before I’m too old and senile to remember that I reviewed this then I will remove that part of this review. As it is……your money is yours to risk.

Someday You’ll Return

Someday You’ll Return

Someday You’ll Return is a game that is disgustingly wonderful enough to keep the most patient and curious players stuck to it until the end or keep others halfway after a while. Let me tell you why.

What to expect - This game is way more than just a walking simulator with gore and occasional riddles to solve. There will be several things you’ll be interacting with through your journey, mostly demanding to reveal the path, while others being just collectibles you can eventually find in dead-ends or just in random odd places that will even make you giggle a bit at times.

Real player with 37.1 hrs in game

Someday You’ll Return is a psychological horror game with more genres included than ingredients in a can of “insert name brand cola here”. It’s a dizzying whirlwind of stealth survival horror, first-person platforming, adventure game style puzzles, rock climbing simulation, environmental puzzling, potion crafting, chase scenes, and I think some kitchen sink plumbing, but I could be wrong on that last one because it may be sewer pump maintenance instead. It is somewhat held together somehow, but on top of that the game is marred by frustrating gameplay due to some odd design choices, bugs, and a story that, while slightly intriguing, ultimately falls short because it just does not have enough moments to get the player involved in the 20+ hours it takes to finish and the main character is simply a terrible human being.

Grotesque Beauty - A Horror Visual Novel

Grotesque Beauty - A Horror Visual Novel

It’s been a while I played any horror novels. It felt nice for a change. I used to be a great horror fan, watched all possible horror films I could only find. It is a bit nostalgic to dive into some scary, gruesome story once in a while. Thanks.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2611383508

The novel is created in dark colors, visuals look simple but quite atmospheric. The story is short but it contains 30 endings. It’s amazing how many ways exist for you to die at just one night, at one house xD I applaud to the writer’s imagination. I mean the endings are quite diverse, you may survive if you choose right, plus there are some ‘open’ endings I personally enjoy a lot. It’s up to your interpretation to decide what kind of ending it is.

Real player with 9.1 hrs in game

The game starts with a gloomy fog covering the screen, then the silence is disturbed by the vibration of an incoming phone call. It’s your friend Anita, ringing you to make sure that you’re still coming over to her house tonight. She says that she thought you might have changed your mind, but you assure her that you’re still coming over and that you aren’t far from her house.
