Orc Raid

Orc Raid

3h Update

After playing this game and beating the campaign I encountered many bugs. Sometimes the orcs spawn underground or up in the sky and you have to find them - however the orcs can still hit you (somehow). The most concerning thing is that on survival once you kill 1000 orcs the game starts to lag and drop to 1fps. This is quite disturbing because I have quite good computer.

Original review

This is a hard decision to make because the price is fair for what the game has to offer. However, it is a very basic game with some annoying bugs. For example the pause menu doesn’t work and you need to press alt+f4.

Enjoyed the game, but, on one map mobs spawned suck in the air or in the ground, (the map with the tower) also I could not load final map at all. could have been broken by a windows 10 update, but seems more like game bugs.

Pretty fun game that has different ways to play the game by using different magic abilities and such. I do wish that the environments were more open and fix some of the animation for different models like the axe throwing one, who does a little T-pose once he throws it. Other than that I’m enjoying it.

Legendary Tales

Legendary Tales

A+ Game!!! Legendary tales, as it stands right now 11/28/21, is a fantastic game that is among the best VR games ive played so far, and I consider myself a veteran. It is essentially Diablo, which seems intentional down to the music in the town. Devs nailed it. The combat is tight, and fair, where if you pay attention you can parry attacks consistently, but if you get sloppy you quickly get punished. The magic, which is apparently being radically improved in the near future, is already SUPER fun. My wife and I play this game together endlessly, where she if often damaging/stunning/freezing hordes of enemies as I plunge in to fight dual wielding swords. I am absolutely STOKED for the future of this game, as they have cleartly laid out a massive plan for additional monsters, magic spells, levels, bosses, synergy magic system, items, skill and stat systems, and so much more.

Too expensive for it’s current state. Essentially 20 levels of the same 3 enemies and on the exact same style of dungeon map that take too long to kill and cannot be engaged in an enjoyable manner. The physics and mechanics of combat are just bad for now, with developers dedicated to asian style MMORPG elements (The bad ones) - involving relentless grind-based progression, in VR where you physically will struggle to sustain the requirements.

The best point in the games history was at release when there were abilities and weapons that could be abused to shift the balance in the players favor - making progression enjoyable. Since then the devs have relentlessly worked towards making the game more difficult and removing any exploits while ignoring the community’s actual requests. They have only focused on redundant balance fixes and the broken magic system since release - barely managing to address some serious bugs.

120 hrs in, multiple wonderful updates, even a youtube video I made on it- I cannot recommend this game more. The modding scene can add pretty much anything you want- from dark souls weapons, to a m4 rifle you can build and customize by hand (well, depending on your game version due to modders needing time to update).

But even with that, I find myself removing my mods every now and then just to experience the base game again, it’s so good. I love what I saw one reviewer say, good for those in retail. Definitely a plus for me being in mostly customer service XD

This game needs some time to get used to. But once you are familiar with it’s mechanics it is great fun and allows a lot of experimentation. Also mods are supported and only get destroyed if cool new content is released. The new dungeon mode also offers a lot of new value.

great game i love the map but the game for each wave it a repeat over and over again

Really nice environment visuals make up for a fairly generic wave-based shooter with some tech issues. All trees and roughly half the bushes shift in the wind, and ambient forest audio makes this feel more like a walking sim than a shooter.

Enemy character models are nice but often repeated as there’s not a large selection of them - three shoot fireballs and energy bolts though which is pretty neat. The procedural environments aren’t truly procedural, as they loop around you meaning you’ll encounter dropped loot from previously killed enemies but no bodies. Weapon drops are fairly hard to find, but usually located in or near points of interest worth exploring like abandoned gas stations and even a crashed UFO.

Important information about the Pre-Alpha Demo version

The pre-alpha demo version has been released to show you the overall gameplay concept.

This version has a lot of bugs that will be removed over time. The purpose of this version is to present the current level of work on the game, and to encourage you to support the development of the game through Kickstarter.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/darkoath/gates-of-a-ruined-empire

What is this game about?

Discover the history of the fall of the Empire, which thanks to technological supremacy have grown for hundreds of years, imposing conquered nations their laws, ideas and religion, while brutally suppressing all forms of resistance. See what happens to society when all dogmas turn out to be fiction.

Let’s play some Real Time Strategy!

  • Enjoy the multiplicity of configurations in a complex combat system, allowing you to adapt the weaponry and specialization of your units.

  • Focus on strategy and tactics instead of rage clicking and memorizing keyboard macros.

  • Accept the fact that dice rollovers are cool, and everything that is based on static data is boring.

More information soon.

The Cult: Marduk’s Longest Night

The Cult: Marduk’s Longest Night

Wow! That’s really cool!

I wasn’t expecting that the game turned out to be so gripping! It involves you immediately and doesn’t leave till the very end.

To begin with, the main character, Caleb Marduk, who stained his hands with blood of many people (and not only), must rescue his daughter – the only one character whose soul is not poisoned by Sins. At least not yet.

I gladly noticed that the game script pays attention to the smallest details. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration if I say that the game developers were able to create a full-fledged game universe and they’re pretty successful on this way: all the characters have their own stories and take specific place in Marduk’s journey. Nothing is casual here, and searching these connections is absorbing. Answers are not on the surface – gamers need to switch on brains and use logic to the maximum.

I’ve just finished playing. Honestly, the game has its charm. I loved it. I know what I am talking about. I’ve played a lot indie-horror on my phone. I’m keen on this genre. Once I’ve seen this game I decided to pay for it and play. I’m not sorry for it at all. I think I have had great time, trying to listen up to any murmur at my room and solving puzzles:) Usually horror games use simple tactics as screamers and so on, but this is an exclusion. You won’t see here any screamers, but it has creepy atmosphere. Besides the plot is kinda deep. Idk why it reminds me some stories about penitence. The main character has interesting story behind and I hope I will learn more about him in next part of his adventures. What’s about paintings. I loved them. I see, they’re tasteful. Together with soundtracks they seem perfect background for such game.

A fun game, running around killing all sorts of things. Quite like the campaign. All sorts of different ways to interact with the world. Things popping up all around you. Keeps you on the move and on your feet.

Definitely worth a couple of bucks

I am really enjoying this game!

At first glance I thought that this game seems really cool. The graphics are stunning, the crossbow looks cool, and the voice overs of the guards are done really well (especially the Captain). The tutorial/ training bit in the start is short enough to not be annoying, but it still teaches you the game fairly well. Once you finish the tutorial, you are surprised by a group of monsters, and when they spawn the music changes which is really cool and captivating. I also like that you can destroy some of the structures and even trees!

Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance

Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance

I can’t belive this game is in Steam! My first hack and slash game of my childhood

Good story, gore combat, finishers, weapon upgrades, variety of enemies, etc

And not only that, they added trading cards and achievements so it’s more enjoyable

The negative thing is that mouse players are fu*ked. There is no support for mouse. It seems like the company who decided to re-launch this old title (Acclaim entertainment was the original developer) is forcing you to buy a controller lol. I remember playing this game back in 2003 with mouse without problems

Real player with 25.8 hrs in game

I hate the controls, I can barely change them. I´m a WASD player, I cannot play well with the arrows.

UPDATE: I managed to change the arrows to WASD, but no mouse for the attacks. I assigned other keys for the attacks. It´s playable now, anyway.

I only wish the movement vectors were attached to my view, not the gladiator´s (much like in drones, where you can choose which vector the drone will obey). For example, if the character is facing left, and I want him to keep going left, I have to press forward, not left. It´s annoying. Sometimes, in the middle of a huge brawl, it´s very hard to make the gladiator go the direction I want.

Demon’s Rise - War for the Deep

Demon’s Rise - War for the Deep

This is a fun little game, which is the second in the series. I have over 50 hours in this version of the game (the good guys) and I have fought all of the campaign and about half of the patrols, and I have over 10 hours in the other version of the game (the bad guys). Both games were released on Steam within a couple of days of each other.

Demon’s Rise is developed by a very small Indie team (Wave Light Games) and the developer is very interactive on the Steam discussion boards and has been very quick to respond to reports of bugs, exploits, requests, etc., putting out three patches in just a few days after release. I can’t say there are no bugs, but they are being fixed rapidly, and none are game stoppers. Released a couple of weeks ago, it is still a little bit of a work in progress, but it is great fun.

A turn-based tactic game with some rpg features. Some good features like moral, divine favour and coverages. Its based in a dark fantasy world, focused in the tactical combat.

Pros:

  • 51 patrol quests plus a lot of main history missions. Really cheap for the content it has

  • good variety of heroes and enemies and spells, may would be nice some customization

  • Amazing voices, music and sound

  • the rooms have a lot of details

  • Many items to collect

Cons:

  • Lack of customization, you have to use items to change your stats
