The Nose

The Nose

The game has a catalogue of problems, which severely detract from it’s interesting premise and presentation. First of all, the English translation is awful, both in the fact that it consistently gramatically incorrect and sometimes incoherent. This is not helped by the fact that the voices characters have are indistinguishable, and badly written, with them swaying between “archaic” language and “modern.” Characters also speak horribly artificially, with them referring to each other with full names and statements that make no sense for the character to be saying, as the developer pains himself to try and emphasise this is old russia. The story as a whole is badly told, as between the narrator and the characters, it is almost entirely told, not shown, which is just an awful way to tell a story in any medium, never mind an interactive one that has a dreadful translation. The developer is a Turk, so the turkish language might be better.

Dead territory

Dead territory

Game consists of killing these fast worm type things (that I’ve seen in another very similar game & that have no AI other than B-line towards you), picking up skulls, finding weapons/health, finding the exit.

Then go to the next level and do the exact same thing.

  • No progression.

  • You can’t spend those skulls you collect on anything.

  • Levels are procedurally generated but look and play the same.

  • New enemy types offer little variety

= No incentive to keep playing.

Looks like a re-hash of “Slug Blast” which is no longer on steam store.

At first I was totally impressed of this game.

It was something new, theres nothing similar to this game.

Please read to the end of the review, or skip the middle part and read only the end.

I quickly found it out to become boring very very soon, the controls are very buggy and totally suck.

They will leave you stuck somwhere midst in a shooting, leading to your death.

Also the blurry black and white graphic, even if kinda really interesting and cool, will end up leaving you seeing a shit and therefore getting really wrecked.

I’m not really sure what to say about this game. If you’re a fan of Postal shooting then you might enjoy this game.

It’s also very cheap so you get value for money. I was curious about the game since it looked a bit “odd” so waited for 90% off.

Looking at the positive reviews I’m not even sure if they are serious with many that barely any gaming hours spent.

However this game doesn’t have the humour like Postal does -or GTA either for that matter. It basicly just feels like I’m “just another” american terrorist who’s just mad at everything and needs to look like a black metalhead and wants to do as much chaos and destruction I can before I get killed. And feel somewhat of a rush when the military is being called in to take you down when the police is not enough.

Medieval Story

Congrats to Oddgames on getting a title published! I personally know what it means to get something completed and on the market! As a single person developer it is an enormous accomplishment and something to be very very proud of!

Now for the review!

Pros:

  • I love the scenary, the detail and the effects. The bookshelves, the furniture, the tiles and objects are very good.

  • Overall the graphics are good and satisfying for me. The cutscenes are great and the detailed portraits are fantastic

  • Personally I like the simplistic click actions

If you like these types of games or indie games in general, or maybe you just don’t have anything to play atm but you just wanna play something? Then this game might be for you!?

This game is not “groundbreaking or a crazy RPG-game” but a very good & kind of simple game with fun gameplay & exploration.

Alrighty then, It took me just over 7 hours to complete the first episode/story of this isometric game while I was exploring all the zones, I really enjoyed it and want a episode two! :D

Rise of Crustaceans

I find this game very fun even in its early access state, it is still worked on so it has a few minor bugs but it’s nothing game breaking and it’s still very enjoyable. you can see that this game has a lot of potential and it’s very promising, all you need is to give it a chance to grow.

Tactical Combat Department

Tactical Combat Department

Definitely recommend this game. As many have said, it takes inspiration from games like SWAT, Doorkickers and Xcom. What I find most unique is the shooting system that doesn’t work on a % chance based on stats (like most turn based games). Instead it randomises where the bullets go based on the weapon and experience of the shooter. Think doorkickers in this aspect, meaning you may hit something between you and the target, or even hit something behind them. The unique part comes in this being a turn based game using that system. I personally haven’t seen something like that before.

Real player with 9.7 hrs in game

Good game! It’s an innovative tactical game with Swat theme in turn based design. You can work with 5 members in your team. In this game is interesting weapon fire system. It’s based on skills of your member and accuracy of weapons. But projectiles fly from weapons, you can hit other civilians or your team member. This is good!

Price is very friendly and fair! Recommended!

If you like Doorkickers and you want to play another Doorkicker’s game, play Doorkickers. If you want to play xcom or big turn based strategy with base building play Xcom, Xenonauts etc. But if you want to play something new and interesting, play this small but interesting game.

Gears Tactics

What can I say that hasn’t been said about this one. It’s a masterpiece.

1. STORY – The story is good, not great, but very good. The writing is excellent, though you won’t be reading a book here.

2. VOICE ACTING – Everything, main story and character backstories, is developed solely via character dialogue. And the voice acting is just wonderful.

3. GRAPHICS –It’s the Unreal engine, used properly. The character faaces, while gritty, are not “Bethesda Faces”. Light on long female hairstyles (there’s one), but OK, this isn’t Earth and it isn’t the 21st century. You can pick decent faces, the main characters have plenty of facial “character” and are easy to get close to. There are customization options that expand as the game progresses, Weapons mods appear on the model. The terrain palette is a bit on the brown side, but this planet is beat to s***, so it fits.

Real player with 81.2 hrs in game

The combat system, classes, voice acting, graphics, controls, etc. are all top notch. So why do I give it a thumbs down? Because 2/3 of the game is just the same side missions over and over and over again, unskippable and increasingly boring as the game goes on. They’re clear time-sinks that add absolutely nothing to the game and you can’t skip them. This is the kind of tedious mechanic which makes the game less fun that I expect from a free-to-play title, not a premium, full priced product.

Pathogenesis: Overcome

Pathogenesis: Overcome

A not so accidental world pandemic of 2023, that turned people to their more primal selves, has become the reason for the downfall of modern civilization. Many survived, but did all the survivors remain human? This is a story about those who survived after a global pandemic on the territory of Leningradskaya Oblast, Russia. A story about finding your place in a destroyed world, where the greatest danger does not come from the infected.

Pathogenesis: Overcome – story-driven Action RPG with hardcore gameplay, elements of survival and real-life combat tactics, wrapped in the style of modern dark realism.

Features:

  • Planning and tactics are more important than reflexes. Not everything can be solved by running and gunning. Ammo is rare, it weighs a lot, and has a tendency to run out. Weapons can wear down, or break entirely. You have to think twice before engaging in conflict.

  • Using cover will drastically improve your chances of survival. Even one bullet from a handgun is enough the receive a deadly wound. Running guns blazing can lead to a premature death.

  • Dynamic camera and non-direct controls, increase your ability to survey your surroundings and increase your maneuverability without losing control of your character. Think about the path you want to go and then concentrate on your surroundings.

  • Non-target shooting and a special aim mode, give you the ability to deal damage to specific areas of your enemies. Just let the suckers expose their elbow or knee… Or you can just shoot through surfaces with armor-piercing bullets.

  • A wide arsenal of real-life firearms, explosives, and ammo with proper characteristics and physically correct ballistics. Military, civilian, sports weapons from Russian and foreign arms manufacturers. Almost everything that you can find in real life.

  • Modifications and tactical gear increase the ease of use for firearms but don’t overdo it. Each element increases mass, to an already heavy arsenal.

  • Cold weapons and hand to hand combat. In case you will run out of ammo. Should you carry a lightweight fast combat knife or a more hard-hitting but heavy baseball bat? Or a long boat-hook to keep the monsters at bay? Is a trusty old axe enough, or should you carry a real sword if you can find one? In any case, you will need strength, agility and correct skills for proper use.

  • Wounds, bleeding, disease, hunger, thirst, sleep deprivation, fatigue… You will have to spend some time to provide yourself with basic necessities, in order to survive in this harsh world. Just find the necessary stuff, and your character will do the rest. Now only to figure out how to set up your stash and carry your goods there…

Planned features

Game is in development. The full version will feature:

  • Dramatic choice infused plot, set in the harsh reality of Russia’s near future. Hi-tech / low tech brought to its tragic absolutes.

  • Global map of Leningradskaya Oblast with separate sandbox locations and non-linear approach to solving quests. You can ignore everyone’s pleas, and just move forward to your global goal. Or you can help those in need and receive not only material goods but something more.

  • Factions comprised of those who survived with unique ideologies which are neither bad or good. Each faction has its own politics and survival strategy. The only question is - how far will they take their pragmatic approach to the well being of others?

Backstory

The war has since swept through our realm, leaving battlefields glinting with the fallen armour of ten thousand vanquished heroes. Yet even as the conflict still rumbles on the horizon like a distant thunderstorm, a new terror has arisen.

Peculiar tales and strange lambent mists swirl around the twisted spires of Erator cathedral, where it is said the usurper Baron Siegwar is raising an army. For many years he was considered an eccentric, shut away in his gloomy cloistered galleries, absorbed by a mania for the mystical arts. Adventurers, charlatans and mercenaries travelled across continents to court him with arcane and esoteric wonders, and his appetite for morbid curiosities was an obsession that kept him from his stately duties.

Now, rumours have emerged that his courtiers have turned murderous, attacking the nearby villages and towns with an uncommon bloodlust. Survivors swear that these marauders possess inhuman strength, and that their eyes are empty swirling voids. Worse still, those that are struck down soon rise again to take up their swords and continue their rampage…

Once cast into a dungeon for defying orders of the King, you have found a means of escape and emerge blinking into a devastated land. Now you must take up your sword and defend the realm that made you a prisoner before all is lost.
