Lost Lands: Redemption
Five-BN puts out the best HOG adventure games, IMO. Their world-building is unparalleled. They actually craft story and mythology for their world. Lost Lands is my favorite series of theirs, but Darkness and Flame series and The Legacy are good also and have all the same mechanics. Five-BN raises the bar for the HOG genre and challenges the assumption that HOG games are “fluff” time wasters for bored middle aged women.
This game in the series stands out as having some very challenging puzzles! That being said, I only had to skip one. There is one puzzle I spent about 30 minutes on, and had to come back to it the next day to actually complete it! I think it took about an hour total!

This is the 7th game in the Lost Lands series. It’s more fun to play them in order because certain characters appear across all the games, BUT you can play them out of order and still enjoy it. This is not my favorite entry in this series, but it is a decent entry nontheless. Really the only downside is the Jimmy character being pretty whiny at the beginning, but he comes around.
I heartily recommend Hidden Object games made by this developer, Five-BN, because of the cost. I’ve played this game for 11 hours and I still haven’t beaten the extra puzzles that come as a bonus feature. Five-BN games are always under $8. Artifex Mundi, however, sells their newest games for $15 and I often beat them in 3 hours. Five-BN is definitely superior in terms of “getting your money’s worth.”

Hasfax
If YOU don’t get lost and find everything quickly get though it in an hour. I say for the price it is worth it. It is an interesting mystery that kept me playing just to figure out what the heck was going on in this creepy building .

Review brought to you by:
TentacleBunny’s Cozy Cottage
Developed and published by HorseGames, Hasfax saw its way on Steam early this year. It managed to get some attention from horror fans, and so far maintains an overall Mixed score. I always have a hard time checking Indie Horror games, simply by the fact that many of them are generic and rushed.
Hasfax however, is neither. It’s not the latest sensation, of course, in fact, it’s quite far from it, but it’s interesting, well made, and not falling into mediocre concepts overly seen already. On the same level as its horror orientation, players are motivated to explore, always with a crippling fear behind the ear, and I really like that. Visuals and atmosphere combined to create a presence, one that haunts you.

Hunted: Survive the Night
Survive the night.
In Hunted: Survive the Night you play as 1 monster vs up to 4 survivors. Trapped in an unknown location the survivors has to find and play 6 haunted music boxes until the song finishes. Doing so opens the gates out to the foggy path, waiting for your freedom. The survivors aren’t completely helpless as they can find weapons laying around, this doesn’t damage the killer, but stuns it instead. Giving the survivors a small window to escape and hide. Remember not to linger for too long. If time runs out before you escape, the gates will close forever and will take your life at the same time.
This is first person only for both the killer and the survivors. Hunted is focusing on realism and horror. Hunted is primarily based on luck, teamwork, sounds and most importantly. Stealth. So be careful of using that flashlight of yours.
Killers and Survivors.
The survivors and killers all have their own unique ability to use. There can only be one type of survivor at a time, and be quick. When everyone is ready, pick your character. Because the game starts as soon as you can choose your survivor or killer. The killer and the survivor also has their own stats, such as speed, stamina, damage, and so on.
Environment.
The objective, spawns and firearms are randomized. The survivors can get really lucky by finding the objectives close to each other, or really unlucky. The survivors can also get lucky by more objectives spawning, since the amount of objectives is randomized. You only need to finish 6 of the music boxes, but there can spawn everything from 8, all the way up to 13 if you are really lucky. The same is with the firearms, except that the amount is from 2-6.
Leveling
Each character and monster has their own levels. Level up your character to get cosmetics and perks, making your character better each play.

Standard quality hidden-object game from Mad Head, this time with a horror twist. However, Maze: Subject 360 was slightly better and the best HOPA on the market is still True Fear.

The Picture in The House
Though it has its flaws, this game is worth playing through at least once. Especially since it’s free.
Pros
-
Good story.
-
Good atmosphere.
-
Actually creepy and scary.
-
Decent voice acting.
-
Movement speed is pretty spot on.
-
Takes less than an hour to play through.
Cons
-
Unoptimized and laggy.
-
Important items and clues too easily overlooked or hidden in darkness.
-
Unnecessary number of buttons for the controls, and the game isn’t even consistent with them.
-
Human models could be better, especially the NPC.

The Picture in The House is one of my favorite Lovecraft stories.
This game does it justice, although it does take some creative license for gameplay.
The audio is suitably atmospheric, and the ambiance is very well suited.
It is suitably short, but does lack a save-feature. Some of the puzzles are a head-scratcher, and saving would help your sanity.
You can probably finish it within 2 hours, a Youtube video did a walkthrough in 36 minutes, but I found the colors too dark, making progression infuriating at times. Great artwork, nice audio elements.

Confined VR
Confined VR is a Virtual Reality Escape Room experience that traps the player in a room with a dead body, and an even deadlier puzzle!
Are you perceptive enough to figure out the key to the puzzle, and escape a grisly demise?

Hard Night VR
If you like Arizona Sunshine, you’ll like this one too.
The difficulty and volume are just right.
No annoying storyline or puzzles to solve.
There are still a lot of bugs, but it’s enjoyable enough.
I’m looking forward to future updates.

Yeah it has some Glitches at Doors and general the input setup is not the best for the Index.
But I do like the maps and what it shows. Sometimes the missing UI or voice that would help you navigate thru the map is a pain, because when you are wrong you cant just run there. There is no running in the game and no jumping.
Then there are points in the map, where the Ai dosnt know, how to reach it and quit the job doing nothing but standing still. When you lean towards something the game things you walked a bit forword and cause of this is you stand on top of something you just wanted to grab. Then the Weapons like to get stuck in the floor. and i would like to have more enemys it was a easy run maybe this normal run and then something like Hell upon Earth where you have like 2-3 Times the enemys and the same ammo caps and founds.

A short and touching point and click game, involving difficult topics including mental health and child abuse. The pacing is spot on. Puzzles are fun and occasionally challenging without ever being too hard. The story kept me intrigued throughout. The art style is gorgeous, and I also really enjoyed the music tracks. This game shines through beauty, effective simplicity, and great storytelling through a combination of exploration, action scenes, and cut scenes, with an occasional jump scare thrown in. If you enjoyed Fran Bow, you’ll likely enjoy this too.

The first chapter is about 40-50 minutes long with no prior knowledge, including a few optional achievements, so at this point, it’s a little hard for me to evaluate the game based on this relatively short introduction. The game gave me some Fran Bow vibes, although the similarities are mostly on the surface level; in this point&click adventure, you play as a young girl that goes through some psychological trauma when exploring surreal environments, while the story seems to be pushing into a different direction. That being said, the narrative managed to hook my interest, I want to see where it goes from here and what happens to the main character which I find very compelling. For some reason, I just really like disturbing adventure games, and this one does not waste any time to let you know that this game is not made for kids.
