Sanguine Sanctum
Absolutely amazing. Although it’s a short game, there is no pressure to finish at a specific rate, allowing you to explore and absorb the disturbing scenery as much as you want. Inspired by PS1 graphics and overall a great game that keeps you on-edge.

Sanguine Sanctum is comparable to obscure PS1 games like LSD: Dream Emulator and Hellnight. I think it really nailed the ambient atmosphere of those games, but you definitely need a little bit of nostalgia to fully appreciate it. You could probably classify it as a walking simulator where you have to solve weird puzzles. I personally really like Sanguine Sanctum because I can see all the small design references. Even the sound design was 100% on point. However, this is not a game I would recommend to a younger audience because it’s intentionally cryptic and clunky. I am not trying to act like I am special, it’s just a very niche game that mimics other niche games (recipe for disaster). Most of the 3D objects look like they from a game that came out 20+ years ago, and that really makes me feel a bit younger XD.

COMMUNION
Join the dyb exploration company team to find the mysterious treasures of san nicolas island. Advance in this non-linear story and meet the characters of the island. A mystery game where the clues are in every corner and death is not the end of the game, just another beginning.
All developed in a minimalist 3D graphic style with various visual angles and changes in the game atmosphere. Play multiple characters throughout the game and keep them alive.
Taras Bulba and platforms of Hoolion
So far I’ve run into 6 or 7 doors that I can’t enter and exactly 0 that I can. Some say I need a key and some say they can only be opened from the other side, but I’m not entirely sure where the other side is.
Graphics: Graphics: Pixel art is fine I suppose. Enemies are nonsense, one of them appears to be a floating wheel; but on the other hand that might’ve been what the dev was going for.
Story: What do you expect? Shoot the enemies and win.
Gameplay: You can obtain a variety of weapons with which to kill enemies. Or at least, I assume you can. I’ve only found the shotgun because as I mentioned, I can’t get anywhere. Biggest complaint is that your bullets come out the barrel of your gun, which is fine on its own but your character apparently thinks it’s a good idea to press the stock of his gun up to his chest. Another complaint is that ladders have asymmetrical and dilapidated appearance, which I like but you can only actually climb in areas where you can see ladder, so you end up having to move around a lot just to climb.

Boreal Tenebrae Act I: “I Stand Before You, A Form Undone”
This game feels broken. Encountered a few glitches a long the way. One was with Bugslav, in which I didn’t give him allergy meds before using the med kit.. then I could never get him to move away from the storage room door, thus not being able to progress to the next part.
Secondly, after finishing the end of the dark mill segment, I was sent back to the main screen.
After playing many times, for about 8 or so hours, I realized you could skip multiple parts of the game and get to the ending. Unfortunately the ending, after doing all the different tasks, ends with a “to be continued”. No resolution. No pay off. It’s very disappointing.

This is such an unusual little gem. I haven’t played anything else quite like it. The whole vibe just speaks to me!
It feels like a stripped-down take on an early survival horror game, especially in terms of the style of puzzles and the pacing, but there’s no real combat. Structurally; you control multiple characters in different scenes. They aren’t in a party and they aren’t communicating with each other but because of a strange connection between them they have a shared inventory and you kind of juggle between their scenes making progress in one then another.

Normally I support every dev trying to make an attempt at recreating old school survival horror.
In this case I will not, and I will keep it short. This game is a broken buggy mess from the start. The aiming is off, a controller is required (forget about key rebinds, and even then you have to use a controller).
The game is full of glitches and bugs. Enemies kill you in a few hits, and you won’t see them coming because of bad camera angles and aiming controls. Cutscenes are rare and voice acting is non existant. Save points are hard to come by, so is ammo. Game crashes on exit and uses full GPU???? Optimization is zero.

Hello Puppets! VR
Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2. Spoiler-Free Review.
Please note: This does NOT work on WMR out of the box & editing controller bindings is more difficult than normal.

I would love to recommend this game. It’s a good mix of horror and comedy in a narrative-driven adventure. The story is good with strong dialogue. The ending is particularly emotional and impactful. You, suprisingly, develop a close bond with your puppet Scout by the end of this horrifying ordeal.

I streamed this for an Extra Life stretch goal and was given a press code by tinyBuild.
While there were cool bits in this, I can’t recommend this game at $20. Here’s a breakdown:
Pros:
-Scout is an awesome character. Brilliantly acted, funny and well written.
-Concept is interesting.
-Story is actually fairly moving by the end.
Cons:
-Very short. 90 minutes to 2 hours at best.
-Buggy. Had to restart a checkpoint several times due to scripting errors.
-No proper Windows Mixed Reality support (unacceptable in 2020.) Had to create a custom control profile on my own.

Education
I have played most of Tonguc Bodur’s games and have enjoyed them as they have evolved from beautiful walking simulators with a story to games with added activities. The last few have had interesting elements of shooting enemies, evading death traps, parking vehicles, etc.
Having said this, Education is not my favorite. Not a bad game, but not really what I was hoping for. It is short, very light on story, and incredibly dark (as in lack of lighting). I spent a lot of time managing flashlight batteries and trying to see in the darkness.

Extremely short, glitchy, not scary in the slightest. I’d say the random freezing and crashing ruin the immersion but there would have to BE immersion for that to be true. Story is nonsense and the player character is a completely unlikable jackwagon who did a bunch of horrible stuff when he was a kid, up to and including causing another person’s suicide, and doesn’t feel bad about any of it at all. The environment might be effective at being creepy if it were actually possible to see it, which it isn’t because it’s about 400x darker than it should be even for a game set at night. Flashlight batteries die in 10 seconds so you’ll spend more time looking for them than reading the notes that explain the story. I’d say the bad battery mechanic ruins the immersion but there would have to BE…wait I covered that already. Christ, even the voice over in the goddamn TRAILER is nonsense and completely the opposite of what actually happens in the game. Even if you’re looking at this for $1 and thinking it would be an easy perfect achievement game to add to your profile….don’t do that either, because it got stuck under Steam’s limited profile nonsense so even if you 100% the achievements it won’t show up as a perfect game. I made a post explaining this to others who were already asking why it wasn’t showing up on their profiles and it got deleted. I guess it made more sense to censor my attempts to help others understand the situation than it was to take literally zero effort to deal with the issue. If achievement issue should be corrected at some point (not likely since the person who could get this issue resolved doesn’t give a big, fluffy crap about the people who spent their money on the product) before I’m too old and senile to remember that I reviewed this then I will remove that part of this review. As it is……your money is yours to risk.

The voice acting quality was REALLY good. High quality. The game was not sadly. Missed potential on some stuff.

The Detective Chapters: Part One
Really enjoyed the overall story. Like the whole Goth thing that you got going here - loved those clubs back in the 80s and 90s. Except for a couple minor crashes that I was able to recover from that game is excellent and has promise. Wish there was more to the chapter but looking forward to the next!

The time I spent with The Detective Chapters: Part One mostly consisted of the playable character getting stuck on small objects I accidentally knocked over, trying the find my lost cursor, and physically writing down binary to solve a puzzle. That all came to a halt when the game got stuck 3 separate times on a day transition card reading “October 7th 2016”. From the very little I got to experience, this game feels as if it’s still a rough draft. If you decide to give The Detective Chapters a shot, you should do so in the ridiculously awesome early 2000’s graphic setting.

Cursed Town
I am literally disappointed in the game delivery. Apart from its slow gameplay I don’t really feel the horror element and slow movement to continue further. However, as this game is still in early access. I hope the devs in developing this implement a running function to make the game faster and fix the cutting out background music. This won’t loop back btw and ruins the immersion making the whole game quiet. There are also some typo error i discovered in the first 10 minutes in house with first survivor NPC there that wish to bring something valuable to him. This error is in corner which the main character misspelled “cofee” instead of “coffee”. I also would like to bring up the save feature as in the game where you have to open up the inventory and save directly. I hope you change this by making you save to “safe spots” in the game making it more horror inducing. Look at Mad father and MISAO from some inspiration in making it better
