Golf Peaks
(edited to mention world 10 with 12 new levels.)
an excellent puzzle game where you’re given a bunch of cards representing various movement options (number of squares, swing type), and not surprisingly in a golf-themed game, your goal is to lead the ball to the hole. beautiful visuals, music that doesn’t get on your nerves after 5 minutes (except in world 7), separate volume settings, unlimited undo, and post-release support with additional levels, mechanics and music.

Good casual puzzle game
This is definitely one of the easier puzzle games I’ve played, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t well-designed. The mechanics, while not groundbreaking (it is a golf-themed game), are interesting enough and fairly well-executed. I really liked the ‘shot card system’. You start with a fixed hand of cards for each level, each card representing a type of shot (length of shot, chip/ straight shot, etc.). The shots can be hit in any of the four main directions, and each card can only be used once. This means there is a limited number of moves you can use per level, which makes the game simpler and more accessible for inexperienced puzzlers. There are also 120+ levels in the game, which adds some meat to the game, otherwise the game would feel too short as the puzzles are relatively easy to solve.

PGA TOUR 2K21
Coming from The Golf Club 2019. While the game was extremely rough on the edges, especially on the presentation being awful, I still loved the game for one reason : The gameplay. It felt amazing and I fell in love with it despite all the other shortcoming.
When I saw PGA Tour 2k21 out, I expected to be completely let down, the usual EA tactic of releasing the same game with barely if any change at all. Luckily I was wrong on this regard. A ton of gripes I had with TGC2019 was corrected, such as partial swings being impractical, the green grid partially covering the green, no spin control on the ball and no customizable clubs/stats. Yes the game is basically TGC2019 V.2 but, to be honest for a moment here, you can’t really add anything too substantial to a sport game that relies on being realistic beside polish. I do agree on the fact that full price for this game is a tad expensive : You do need to enjoy realistic golf to make the price tag feel right.

Full disclosure, I bought the Deluxe Edition when it was on sale for about 30 bucks and I had a $25 Steam gift card, so this game was as close to free as I could get without someone gifting it to me.
Would I recommend this at full price to anyone for the Deluxe Edition? No.
Would I recommend this to someone getting it at a steep discount? Absolutely.
Now, on to the review.
You’ll read a lot of negative comments about the commentary, and all of it is true. It’s repetitive, rarely describes what’s actually happening, recaps will seem like they’re from an entirely different match, etc. This is spot on critique. There is a lot of jank in the way the commentary will put together random phrases to try and simulate actual play by play and color commentary. But sometimes, that jank is golden.

Unparalleled game-play with sophisticated mechanics and alluring visuals. The perfect game for the average or experienced, proficient golfer. While incomplex at first glance, even the most astute mathematician may struggle with the troublesome trigonometric functions required to usurp dominance over some levels. Over all i rate this game 8.237 / 9.487.

Mini Golf Club

I so want to recommend this game. It has great potential. It’s fun, generally easy to use, a lot of courses. But some of the holes are just impossible and there are no difficulty settings. In one course, there’s a water hazard right in the middle of the “Fairway” that takes up the entire width, that it took me 6 strokes to get around, a few inches at a time around the 3 inch margins. I understand and like a good challenge but just on course #2? And keep it SOMEWHAT realistic.
